  1. haha, I wonder if youre right, the WP is over a very small house/farm, but I assumed you fly up to the farp, especially as maddog mentioned height of the farp as well, the small place by the WP is surrounded by trees I think, ill go take another look :)
  2. hmm, I have landed all round the farmstead, with no joy, so I will wait for you to check it mad dog :)
  3. ah ok cheers for that mad dog, ill try later when I get home
  4. well I feel I will voice in here but only once at not getting into a flame war etc. for me I don't have a problem with it how it is, I like it. I can understand if you want a pristine cockpit.....on your old plane :) inside I think it should be worn and used, that doesn't mean lack of care, just look at the old A10. as for the glass. well each to his own I suppose, I fly her for fun mainly so prob doesn't matter, as mods are a thing anyway, just why not use them and stop the dev bashing, just a thought :)
  5. you know you could be right, I did land nearer the farm, but ill try on the field as you say, silly I just assumed to use the farp, cheers mate :)
  6. putting this here as its more question than problem at the moment..i hope. Documents mission, I land at second spot next to the farmyard as it says on the farp, but I get nothing, no continue/text/speech nothing, tried this a few times with no joy, I am in the right spot? (same farp as in the first mission acclimatization).on the 2.5 o.b
  7. wow, you seem to criticise everyone else's remarks and help, then add your own. well done
  8. thank you guys, cool flying frag:thumbup: seems like the gazelle is the next one in the stable then.
  9. its not impossible at al, just go slow and come to a stop near the ground, low alt, or come in for a running landing, not a lot different than a plane
  10. simples really, I always ask you guys on potential next purchases, a little while a go it was on the mi8 or huey, overwhelmingly it was the 8, glad I did really love that old girl, nicely different from the shark. I never had any interest in a hardly armed miniature copter, :), but recently stating thinking how fun it actually looked and watching videos on nimbleness of it, and really started to love and want it, still torn on the huey as well, having ride of the Valkyries blazing out all the time you fly. whats your opinion on them and if you do prefer one over the other why. I think this one is a close call, it was going to be toss a coin for me.
  11. they defiantly aren't broken....unique maybe? I prefer this natural look to the can see anything like daylight which was there last incarnation. the trouble is that you want to see like daylight at night, I'm sure I'm right that the shark wasn't even made for night time work anyway
  12. the shark sometimes feels like that to new pilots, its normal. after I been flying the mi8 for a while I come back to the 50 and it feels like a nippy little race car, when you get used to it more by putting in the hours, you will find she is the easiest copter to fly. yes the ap channels are a pain, but at the moment its when they are dark they are on, try all on but the b channel, then you will have the smoothest ride. fly her straight then hit the trim and let go quickly for the normal trim, little and often works best. there is another option, forget whats its called at the moment, where you can trim your heading, but it wont take hold till the stick re centres by you, I used to find this one a bit easier till I got used to her. the best way to practise I found was, when your ready to fly, push the stick forward about an inch then trim before take-off, when you get this right she will just come up in a hover, or near hover, rise up nose down a bit and head for the town, then practise going round the buildings and down the streets, you will soon be chucking it around like a madman, have fun and don't get stressed, your doing nothing wrong its just a learning curve, but if you get stuck, well ask any of us for help :)
  13. ah ok, thanks Nicholas, didn't realise its such a small effect, thanks a lot for the reply, really love this bird :)
  14. really, didn't know that, so there's possibly nothing wrong, there just like eye candy? :)
  15. I'm sure its not working, well it extends but it does nothing to decrease speed, in fact now there seems very little resistance on the whole airframe, lowering the undercarriage is the only thing thatl slow it down in stable or slight descent. still getting the crash to desktop as well after a flight
  16. glad you got it working brix :), haven't flown at night for a while, (its not really a night copter) but I'm sure you can use the night lighting switch with cockpit lighting off and it makes it more visable, either way you got it better than none eh
  17. Nicer pit defiantly, but that may come with just a fix to DS. Sounds would be my number one , with a clearer hud
  18. man, that was good, its the hover that I still need to perfect, but she a good old bird, just treat her carefully and slowly does it......or go b**ls out like above of course :). gotta go try that now
  19. hehe, man glad its a single seater, as a co pilot id be scared stiff :), your landings weren't too bad though, its always tough when you haven't played a module for a while
  20. I use a warthog stick n throttle, didn't know about the dials though, thanks for that too, off for another go :)
  21. dam, couldn't find it, cheers for that, anything the helps :), flying, landing no prob but hovering is the work of the devil lol
  22. guys, don't know where to find this or even if it was a mod, but I saw a video on sling loading and there was a greenish control helper on screen, similar to the ones you can use for throttle/ap settings? is that in now as it would really help my poor attempts to sling load. also not sure if there is an "easy sling load? I did see another on a m8 sitting next to its cargo to attach rather than hover. thanks for info :)
  23. I know my "field" ones are different from military but yes they just have there own battery packs, I thought they were no different than standard army issue
  24. no, just checked, while cold with no battery or power whatsoever you can switch to nvg and they work straight off, with a totally dead shark, just straight from start
  25. prefer the screen myself, don't like the vr
