-
thanks frag, wow making your own, thatl be pretty cool, wish I could find a pair of the combat pros, don't seem to be any around, I would love the MFG but at the moment that's a no go, but later maybe

need a new set of pedals, cant get the crosswinds, looking for a more wallet friendly approach atm. was looking for the Saitek pro combat ones, but not sure if they even available now as cant see any for sale anywhere, only the normal pro ones, seems the seconhand market is nearly same price as new, that's fleabay for you. or are the TM pedals any good, would match my warthog controls then. its just for whirlybirds, dam hard flying just using the z axis on the throttle :)
-
personally, get a delanclip, only 30 quid and you will be looking around like mad, once you use a head tracker you will find it impossible to play without one. a good stick and throttle too, but module fever grabs us all, with or without the needed bits, so......the shark even with its probs, that will be fixed this year, get it, its an awesome copter and the easiest one to fly with no pedals, if you get a TM hog HOTAS you can use the z axis for rudder, I find that really easy to use, mirage or Hog, no contest get the hog and have fun learning it, every module I had I learnt to start without help same day, hog/mi8, all of them, but that aside even as Yurgon said, there's loads of pointy nosed jets, so get one with style!

don't think they even allow cow tipping!

ok, may be silly, might be me in wrong place, but. mission 1, after you have done the low level fly by and passed, you need to fly under power lines above the river, well the river is covered by trees where the power lines cross, and indeed on the u-tube vid it shows none, I know its prob that its not tested yet in 2.5, just wondering/checking I am in right spot? cheers

Stuck at "Deployment - Mission 2 / Escort" (DCS 2.5)
thrustvector replied to rge75's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
i must say in 2.5 this is a dam hard second mission, it seems easy enough but as they all spawn in the forest you cant actually see them to target, so you blanket the area, which always seems in the wrong place, and to this day I think my wingman, who is as much use as *** on a bull, has only attacked once with guns. can the mish be edited and still continue on, as I know you cant save it, just need a few trees gone -
ah ok thanks
-
ha I keep hoping ill see a decent cockpit with DS soon :)
-
oh what a shame, was going to buy this and the other campaign, guess ill save my money
-
haha yea I read that, been practising all day and thanks to the help an advice take offs are about 75%, so cheers all

thanks guys, I'm gradually getting it to lift of better, the control tower is so scared of me anymore flying round it circles at them :). using the cyclic a lot slower has enabled me, as you say to feel which way its going to pull, didn't realise till now that's what happens when I land too, the different amounts of power in the engine actually pulls the copter left and right, so diff from the shark, loving this bird!
-
thanks frag ill give it a go, yea I find in flight she is so stable, even landing I have got used to in a day, but the lift off....arghhh
-
ok, I'm pretty new to the 8, so maybe a simple thing but, when I take off, I always veer heavily to the left, like really bad. if I was just to throttle up itl tip over very quickly, I need to use rudder heavily to the right and stick to even get of the ground. this is with no weapons or indeed some it doesn't matter. I have tried a stationary trim, rolling start always the same, auto pitch/roll/heading on/off. get this even on take off from runway in case its something I'm not switching on. checked control settings in case they were slightly off, all centred. now, if I do get up, once I'm in forward flight its all fine, rudder returns to centre, trimmed out can fly around all day, just a really scary take off?

mmm let us know if the ns 430 is worth it? I haven't got that

well I have the shark and love it, its not hard just put the time in to it and itl be second nature after a while, I asked the same question as you a while back, general response is get the 8, which I did and love, but if you find the shark hard, the 8 is a different beast completely, I would get it and just put in the time
