No I am sure it will work fine its just that I am worried about loosing an activation from my DVD. I would like to know if I will loose an activation because I am installing it on a second PC and if so is there a way to avoid this?

I have BS (uk disc vr) on my main PC and would like to install it on my new laptop for when I am working away from home. Question is will this loose me an activation ( I will not be playing on line with the laptop). If so is there away around loosing an activation (i think its a bit unfair to loose an activation just because I want to install it on a second computer).

I can data link target points fine but I am sure I am not alone here when my wingman decides its best to close into the target way too close and ends up a smoking ash tray after taking out a minute portion of my assigned targets.:huh: Now I have tried to set ingress points without much success, so please tell me where I am going wrong. IE I set ingress point: slave shkval to 5km outside of proposed targets and Laser that point. Hit "ingress point" symbol and "send/mem". Reset target system. Hit "Ingress"+"D/L to all" buttons. Symbol flashes and button go "on" and them "off" to confirm data linked. Go into menu for wingman commands and F1 (flight), F3(goto), F3 (designated target). Response is usually unable or negative. Does this dude not know there is a war on???:mad: Where an I going wrong.

I use all the time. I can never get it to auto lock on target, may be due to TrackIR sensitivity, but use it to get the shkval in the right area then use my cyclic hat switch to home in on the target and it works a treat. If you have a head tracking device then I would recommend you use it until it becomes a natural reflex to use it as part of your attack.

Must admit sobek, I have never noticed the cool down times after each lase and I will look out for it. You could have given me the golden nugget I was looking for, Thanks. By the way, last night I managed to keep the laser going for four rearms but on the last sortie I was able to lock but my missiles would not launch, I had to get close with my cannon and unguided missiles and was eventually taken out by a man pad. No idea what caused that as i could launch missiles in manual but not in auto. I also tried leaving the chopper at the heliport for 15 mins to see if I would get a new bird, but no this didn't work and i refuse to use the recover option as it's realism or nothing for me. I will take to the sky with lots more knowledge after this post, thanks chaps.

No I play with limited amo as realism is my buzz, but even with switching the laser into standby after taking out a couple of targets, it still will not last long enough to get me through a second load out. I may try switching down my bird at the farp and waiting until I get a new one, which was suggested earlier as the TAB-RCTRL-RSHIFT does not work for me.

I only get a few hours to play at the weekend (wife, kids and sims dont mix too well) so this seems excessive. What do you do in that half hour? Any way the battle could be won or lost by the time my laser has decided to cool off:doh: I,ll give it a try tonight, but I'm not convinced.:book:

Due to laser burn out ( yes Ive tried to use it sparingly and it always dies mid way into my second weapons load out, no matter what I do!). I am getting frustrated with not being able to complete some campaigns due to this fact ( I can complete them if I attack the main goal but I tend to fail when I re visit the campaign to take out all the secondary targets) and for some reason I am unable to get a new Kamov when I tab-rctrl-rshift:mad: I land my duff chopper and then hit tab-rctrl-rshift expecting a shiney new chopper but nowt happens. Any suggestions?

Ive got both TIR4 and TIR5 and I whilst I think the 5 is an improvement, it is more so for its aesthetics and build quality that sets it apart. The v5 software is rubbish and I have reverted back to latest V4 as the zoom is just way to jittery and I tend to look like Marty Feldman after a few hours BS.( I tried for a full day to get it right, but it is a beta so where hoping it improves) TIR5 with V4 software (latest build) works a treat and I do think it is a shade more smooth than TIR4 but its no massive leap like the hype on the NP website implies. I needed an additional TIR devise for when I am working away so I bought TIR5 and it wasn't a massive premium over a TIR4 so Im happy but I would not say its something you should buy as a TIR4 replacement as its only a tad more smoother and is hardly noticable in BS, LOMAC or IL2 so that my two bobs worth ;0)

Yep I get the same problem. It is trying to find the config folder inside the lockon.bat file which is incorrect as it is a file and not a folder. I would love someone to find a solution to this.

I tinkered with the value of the trim delay time in the KA-50, Scripts, Aricrafts, KA-50, FM options file some time ago and I would like to revert back to the original setting but I unfortunatley didn't back up the file:music_whistling: Would some kind soul please post the original figure for the trim delay time as I have a MS FF2 stick I would like to hook up and want to start from scratch with the stick settings.:thumbup:

Would I have to deactivate just to change a GFX card. I have a card which is finally back from RMA but I installed DCS whilst on my spare GFX card, so does this equate to a major hardware change?:helpsmilie:

Dissapointing really:cry: I feel there has been plenty of time to sort out the major problems and I agree that a further patch mid year to iron out the smaller snags would have been a better way of keeping the community happy.

Im having the same problem with my HP pavillion D7 laptop. It seems that when the game runs the keyboard is seen as a US keyboard and not as a UK keyboard. This causes all sorts of problems especially for comms as the "\" key is not recognised at all:mad: I have this game installed on my desktop with no problems (both running Vista) with that keyboard. So come on ED get your finger out as this is a show stopper for me and a major blunder by one of your team and to have to wait for the next patch (when the Disk ver is out??) is not really fair on those who have paid for the English DL ver.

I used to use Fraps but I beleive there is one built into the game, any idea how I enable this feature.

Im thinking of DL the English ver but can it be transfered to a Disk? If so what software would be best to do this?

I am sure this has been mentioned before, but I could not find it. After re arm at base I was unable release weapons when on Auto. If I switched to manual control of weapons then I was able to release but no laser guidance. Tried switching and resetting laser but no joy. Anyone else experienced this problem.
