  1. I always land on a moving ship with my parking brakes on. Obviously you have to make a controlled soft landing so as not to still have enough inertia to cause your heli to topple over. I also put engine into idle as soon as I am down.
  2. I am having problems with trim on a MS ffb 2 stick. I have reversed the settings in FF tune but when I trim the stick kicks and although does not fully return to centre it does, however seem not to stay where it was trimmed. If anyone has any advice on how best to get a satisfactory trim with this stick, I would appreciate it. Oh by the way I am running Vista 32 so using the MS drivers wont work.
  3. I have a problem with slewing the Shval. When I have been actively scanning the battle field looking for a target, I find that the Shval sensor starts to go on out of my control scan and I dont seem to be able to get it back under control:joystick: Ive tried switching off the Shval, laser sensor reset and keyboard P (I think its Auto target cannon.) Do any of you chaps have issues with this?
  4. Niehorst I find if target is stationary and soft like a truck then the rockets impacting around target 9 times outa ten , set the target alight. If your trying to hit a soft target whilst its moving then you have to judge your lead (aim where the target will be at impact not where it is at the moment of weapon release) I have no problems now hitting targets with rockets. I use Autos and trim to get to target area then switch to FD and pick off targets at will. I only do this once I have depleted my Guided weapons in a stand off a few Klicks away(all done with Auto's and Trim). Take time and master the autos and trim as it is the way this machine is used. Use FD when up close with unguided weapons. Oh and if you find yourself under attack whilst in Auto just hold down trim and pull out of the way(don't be too severe with stick), once you are out of harms way and stable release the trim and a settle yourself before you counter attack. :)
  5. It has been there since I installed the russian game and was wondering has this issue been solved yet? I know it has been raised as an issue before. Is it still present in the English version?
  6. Very nice mission. Enjoyed it. I was unable to shot down the choppers but thats something I have to work on. I managed to take out the Farp and Artillery and I could find no more enemy left to kill (turned on labels to check if any where in amongst the trees or buildings)so off to the airfield for a good landing, but mission status still said incomplete! Keep those missions coming folks!
  7. You need to set Nvidia control panel 3D application exe. to point to the Orange DCS exe. in your 1C/Ka-50/bin/Stable folder. Do not point the Nvidia control panel to the Desktop launcher as this wont use your preferred 3D settings. Hope this helps.
  8. Sobek thanks for that clear explanation and the linky. It has given me a better understanding of the HUD. ;)
  9. Shaman, that maybe how the views are in the game but when in reality, if I move closer to a screen the objects/information on that screen get closer and thus larger. I have now mapped the zoom view to my POV hat switch as I am using the stick throttle for my collective and this works fine. Thanks for your comments.
  10. May be something with the freetrack software but I think its DCS BS. When I move my head forward to zoom in on HUD, the view zooms into the HUD display projector as it should ,but the HUD graphical display (the green information) does not get any bigger:huh: If I do this manually with the keyboard zoom, all is fine. I know this software is not supported by ED but do any other Freetrack/Track IR users have this problem?
  11. Excellent break down of achieving a stable hover, Nemesis ;) This process finally dawned on me last night after many hours of practise just wish this had of been posted earlier!
  12. Advice needed for triming with a MS FFB. Well I dusted off the ol MS FFB joystick to see what all the fuss was with this trim on BS. I have managed to trim fine with my CH stick and was curious so set up the FFB stick. When I held down the trim button the stick force slackened as it should then when I was happy with flight angle I released the trim, this is where it went all wrong, imediatley the stick kicked in my hand the returned to centre:joystick: I tried to slacken the forces in the setup but still the same. I was wondering if this is due to the MS FFB having a infared sensor at the base of the handle for sensing when your hand is placed on the stick. I am sure some of you guys have found a way of this stick imitating the true cyclic trim action, so would appreciate any feedback...pardon the pun:doh:
  13. Hi, I was hoping that some of you guys may have by now come up with a descent CH MAP profile for the Black Shark sim. I know there is a CMS file out there but Im not much good at programing the comands in:joystick: If anyone has one that I could try I would greatley appreciate it.
  14. Cheers tusler i found a link to DarkWAnderer's post and downloaded that, it did improve so it is playable but it still drags FPS to 15-20. http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=21033&d=1225831282
  15. I am running this sim on my Laptop at the mo and to be honest it runs quite well with 35-50 FPS on average on med settings. The only time I experience problems is when flares start being deployed by my wingman, it literally brings game to a halt at 8 fps:mad: So I was wondering do any of you guys have any config tweaks that may help? Dell Vostro laptop, Intel Core Duo 2.2GHz, 4gb DDR2,Nvidia 8600M GT.
  16. Your first download link takes me to a RUSSIAN website where it may have the download link but I cant work out which one to select!
  17. Its does not happen every time but, when I go into the encyclopaedia the images dont show up:huh: I am usually trying to see what weapons I am loading up onto the Were Wolf. Other times it works fine. Any other Pilots out there having this trouble.
  18. The SetAffinity II does definitely work. Just open the SAII program, goto ADD, navigate it to your DCSexe. in your 1C folder. Once it is in the right hand program box of SAII, right click it and set your cores 0+1. Apply the changes and the go to the to the options tab. In here put a tick in the three options and close. There should now be a SAII icon in your right hand taskbar. Launch the game and start a mission. Once in the mission hit CTRL,ALT,DELT. and goto processes and check that there is activity in both CPU monitoring graphs. Hope this helps. Oh and thanks to the guy who first posted the link. ;)
  19. SetAffinity II works a treat in Vist 32. I have Vista 64 on Home PC so will try it later.
  20. Thanks to DCS for this. I wonder if we will ever be able to get a translated cockpit file for the RU version.
