  1. Great news, but I am also not a fan of downloaded software. I would like to know is this going to be the same as DCS as in so many installs before license runs out?
  2. Yes ,I would like to make labels smaller. Would help with the immersion factor.
  3. What I could say is: the USA played a major role against the Japanese, and we can even say they won the war agains Japan almost by themselves. But, honestly, anyone here thinks Japan could have done any world-scale problem :D? :music_whistling: I think you have upset a quite a few British, Australian, Indian, Dutch, Philippine nationals with that sweeping statement. (Have you ever watched the film "Bridge over the river Kwi?") The Russians suffered the biggest loss of any allies during WWII and with out them we in the West would have been screwed, but to be honest their leaders had a agender all of their own which isolated them for many years after the war. As we are all aware, we play a game/sim, it has no real bearing on real life situations or history. Making sweeping statements about how good this is or that will only get you shot down in flames as their is always someone more knowledgeable or experienced than you think you are. (I wholey include myself in that statement, as I only quote what I have learned through reading history books, I have no real experience of warfare .... thank god!) I hope I havent upset anyone with my posts, but people need to learn more of the facts about Warfare past and present before making statements which are inaccurate.
  4. Yes it is, but it gets my goat that the USA apparently won both WW1 and WW2 all by them selves. Dam they didn't get involved until they had no choice but to. Yes they gave Europe the life line they needed and we are eternally grateful but they did not take control and march into Berlin on there own. Far too much of Hollywood has written History....please read some history books and listen to your elders before you decide to blather on the web.
  5. Quirk! I love you! Thanks mate it sorted the Auto Hover out a treat. Ive sent some love to you for that top suggestion. Cant thank you enough.
  6. Id like to see more UK and European aircraft. Tornado, Harrier, Typhoon, Mirage, Saab Viggen, and the much improved Westland WAH-64 Apache to name a few. Never mind crappy Russian and US aircraft, give us some Euro aircraft. LOL
  7. Are we having a pissing contest Ramstein? I actually fly for real if you must know. It may not be a Helo or a Plane, it is actually a R.O.V. Although its probably not as demanding as a Kamov it is however a serious, expensive and demanding piece of kit, so even though I have flown this vehicle for 4 years I always use Trim and Auto Heading when I can. I play sims for fun but fly a £500,000 piece of kit in my daily job (not to mention the down time penalty of an oil rig if things go wrong) Its not how good you are but how well you get the job done!
  8. Hmm, nice one Quirk, I will give it a try. Cheers.
  9. Guys I hear what you are saying, but I can achieve a hover with trim alone but it now just takes longer than before as I now constantly have to re- trim whilst I am in Auto hover. If you watch Waldo II in his video, that is how it used to work for me, now its trim, trim trim trim some and then some more. I know it has changed as I have BS v1.0 on my laptop and it works fine like it has done from scratch, but on the Desktop which is now v1.01 its changed. Come on ED did the new trim mess with the auto hover?
  10. Ive tried both and neither made any difference to the auto hover.
  11. Just recently patched my game to the v1.01 due to not having to many problems with the stock game. One of the biggest problems I am having since the patch is being able to get a steady hover. Before the patch I could bring the helo to a trimmed hover around 7-10 degrees (as read of the hud) hit the auto hover and the helo would auto trim to a solid hover with no slewing either axis. Now I just cannot achieve a solid hover without the helo drifting all over the place. I have tried putting in deadzones on my CH fighter Stick just in case it was giving inputs to the controls but no I think the patch is to blame. Anyone or ED give any reasons to why it has been changed or any positive tips to maintaining a solid hover?
  12. Does this not only apply to BS and not LOMAC?
  13. I have changed the forcefeedback setting to true in the config but why is it that my MS FFB stick is being pulled hard over to Port when I am trimming the plane in any direction, and thus driving me to an early death? I have tried to re map the key binds to my POV hat switch to see if it made a difference, but to no avail, exactly the same result. If I go into the config and change forcefeeback to false then it works fine I like using the forcefeedback ON as it nice to know when plane is about to stall etc, but if I am unable to trim the AC correctly then I am snookered. Is there a compatibility problem with the old MS FFB stick and LOMAC? Do any of you guys use this stick with forcefeedback enabled? By the way I am running Vista 32 if that has any bearing on the problem.
  14. I had a similar problem a long time ago when I tried to download a heap of mods all at the same time. With the CAW mods, it is crucial you get them installed in the correct order and test each mod as you install before moving onto the next. If I remember correctly I un-installed the ADA mod and this sorted a few of the major issues I was experiencing. Hope this helps.
  15. I am a bit puzzled as to why the graphics.cfg file does not reflect any changes I make in the in game options. ie I have changed my screen resolution to 1650 x 1050 but when I exit out of game and check my graphics.cfg file in the DCS root folder, it shows no change: Simulation { resolution = {1024, 768}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.333333333; Should I be manually changing these setting in the file or just leave it as it is.:helpsmilie:
  16. Im having the same problems. Even giving him acurate ingress points, he will still abandon them and move in too close, thus ending up a smouldering ash tray on the ground. It is driving me nuts on some campaign missions.
  17. Im having the same problem since the patch. You where able to make out quite clearly the panel inscriptions from default centre cockpit view. Now you have to zoom in to make out the lettering which is no big deal for me, as I am used to the cockpit lay out, but it looks like ED have made a tweak to graphics textures that hasn't been to clever. Yes, I have tried all the settings out and I have removed all MODS as stated. My system has a Intel 8400@3.5Ghz , Gforce 260 XFX, 4Gb Ram and Vista 64 so there shouldn't be a problem with lack of power. I am more concerned for the new comers to the game who may feel that this is a bit graphically sloppy in places. I hope ED look closely at this as I am sure a few users may not have even noticed this as it is a subtle graphic anomaly and for many seasoned simmers not a great issue, but it is sloppy all the same.
  18. Well I disagree. I can only send data once the Shkval has been reset so I have no idea how you are doing it!:music_whistling:
  19. Cheers for the info chaps. Brewber19 could you post up the short cut you used to get it going in Alchamey please?
  20. Need to what sound engine DCS uses in BS. DirectSound3D or OpenAL? I run Vista with a XFI sound card and want to know if I should enable Alchamey to give me EAX.
  21. No I am sure it will work fine its just that I am worried about loosing an activation from my DVD. I would like to know if I will loose an activation because I am installing it on a second PC and if so is there a way to avoid this?
  22. I have BS (uk disc vr) on my main PC and would like to install it on my new laptop for when I am working away from home. Question is will this loose me an activation ( I will not be playing on line with the laptop). If so is there away around loosing an activation (i think its a bit unfair to loose an activation just because I want to install it on a second computer).
  23. Thanks chaps, I will try it tonight and report back. Cheers again for your advice.
