  1. "you'll never see me agaaaaiiinnnnnn!" hehe
  2. I voted 30-40, but it greatly depends on what I'm doing. I have a fairly powerful system (E6750 overclocked to 3.2Ghz, GTX260, 2GB RAM, 1920x1200) and I even see the FPS drop to 10-15FPS at FARPs/airbases, especially during MP. Graphically BS, is not that demanding, however RAM and CPU power are important for all the avionics calculations etc.
  3. Well my rudder pedals slide around the floor so I've tuned my rudder axis curve so that 50% physical movement outputs 100% input ingame. This way I don't have to move the pedals as much sending them sliding around the laminet floor! To compensate I've added exponetial so that the center position is softened so it's not twitchy. When I get home (I'm on the iPhone ATM) I'll post up some screenshots of my axis curves etc
  4. Yup that's the best way IMO. I'm not a member of the 159th but I've been flying with them whilst using teamspeak and they've been very helpful with things that I have been unsure about. MP is a great way to learn - more experienced players can "tutor" you through aspects of the game.
  5. nurs-table.rar is the shader mod for the MLRS smoke? So we need both that and FlareTrail.vsh.DCS.rar?
  6. My game crashes every time I try to use this :( Running Vista Ultima x64
  7. Pictures aren't showing mate :(
  8. Awesome, now we just need mods to install with it :D
  9. Awesome! Love the first one the most :)
  10. Much more organised, thanks!
  11. Good to see I'm not the only one with it...
  12. How did you get the paper/ink/folder so cheap?!
  13. Awesome thanks Acedy! I remember reading something about the use of the brake along with the AP, but I couldn't remember what as I had only glimpsed it briefly. I'll assign F to one of the buttons on my throttle, will make adjusting AP height much easier than having to disengage alt hold, change height, then reengage alt hold. Cheers!
  14. Cool, I have a GTX 260 216 also, I'll these installed on Vista Ultimate tonight! :)
  15. More like trying to balance eggs on top of eachother. I know what ground effect is like on takeoff just from my RC Heli experience :D
  16. Its called ground effect. You're hovering in the turbulence caused by your own rotor wash bouncing off the ground and coming back at you. Very close to the ground is not a safe place for helicopters to hover.
  17. I wondered this myself too. I've got about 10hrs in the sim so far and I haven't use it once so I certainly don't press F everytime I use the collective, so I have no idea how it's modelled :joystick:
  18. Cool thanks, I'll check it out when I get home! :)
  19. Temporarily change the res, right em all down into a spreadsheet and print them off as a sort of checklist :D Lame work around I know, but it should help until a fix is possible :)
  20. Why not out of curiosity? I use them, bring the heli to a hover and creep forward until I'm over the landing pad, disengage altitude hold, then use the collective to slowly descend. Is the flight director the little blue button thats next to the 4 AP mode buttons? What does it do?
  21. Cool thanks! I'll check it out when I get home :)
  22. Amazing!!
  23. I can hear the cannon just fine, but I sometimes loose the engine sounds after using one of the external views. I too am using Vista (ultimate 64bit).
  24. HTH = Hope This Helps MD = Mad Dog, his forum title :D
  25. FSAA works fine with my GTX260 216SP on 178.24, running at 1920x1200
