  1. Yeah for sure i can :) Thanks to the Industrie for having SSD's :D Will update it when its made :)
  2. As i've seen some topics about how Antialiasing of DCS or Nvidia are working i tried to make a little comparisons to see clearly the differences. I will try to expand these comparisons if u want and also try out ReShade to see what we get there. All screenshots are made with following basic DCS Settings: Resolution: 3440x1440 Texture: High Terrain Texture: High civil Traffic: Off Water: High Visib Range: High Heat Blur: Low Shadows: High Res. of Cockpit Displays: 512 Depth of Field: Off HDR: Off Deferred Shading: On Terrain Object Shadows: Flat Cockpit Global Illumination: Off Disable Aero Interface : On VSync: On Fullscreen: On Scale GUI: Off DCS and Nvidia Settings Explanation from Left to Right: All Off: Standard picture which u get with no Antialiasing from DCS or Nvidia MSAA 2x: Edges looking much smoother MSAA 2x + MFAA ON: Slighty improve to only MSAA x2. Looks like something between MSAA x2 and x4 MSAA 4x: Not really a huge step compared to MSAA 2x MSAA 8x: Much clearer picture then MSAA OFF but we all know that with MSAA the FPS will significant drop down MSAA 4x and AF 16x: Like MSAA 4x but also u see for example Ground Textures getting much sharper. Because AF only affects sharpnes not the AntiAliasing. MSAA 8x and AF 16x: Like MSAA 8x but also u see for example Ground Textures getting much sharper. Because AF only affects sharpnes not the AntiAliasing. MFAA On: Turned via Nvidia Inspector the MFAA to On but there isnt really a difference between All Off and MFAA ON FXAA On: We can see a increase in sharpness between the different 3D Objects for example Hill/Sky MS 8x and SGSS 8x with Override: Used MS and SGSS with Nvidia Inspector and the "Override any application settings". No nitciable differences. MS 8x and SGSS 8x with Enchance: Used MS and SGSS with Nvidia Inspector and the "Enchance the application settings". No nitciable differences. All Off + ReShade SMAA On: U see a small increase in quality between the different 3D objects. For Example the Hill or the Frame of the Huey. NOTICE: Its not possible to make screenshots InGame and see afterwards the ReShade effect. ReShade is a Filter which not get captured by DCS screenshots. If u want to take screenshots with ReShade visible i used for Example Gyazo. Anisotropic Filtering: Here i made a comparison between the different AF Settings of DCS. U can see on the ground textures that the sharpness range increases step by step by increasing the AF from OFF to x16 Benefits of ReShade I will show in the following comparison the differences between FXAA, SMAA and both together. Therefore im using ReShade. FXAA OFF and SMAA OFF That u will see without having something turned on FXAA ON Here u see a little improvement with less FPS cost SMAA ON U see that Reshade is giving u also little improvement FXAA ON and SMAA ON This is a little improvement paired with a small improvement of SMAA
  3. The other question is which kind of resolution u run ? Dont think that most of us are using 3440x1440 resolution. And this resolution is a „Bit“ higher then for example 1920x1080. The thread should be some help for those who have problems and its also not a guide how to . As me i searched a lot and i only wrote down what i‘ve found. HDR or deferred Shading. Yeah i think this is really a Personal thing. Some may like more HDR some may like deferred shading. But nebertheless u also can adjust your system like i did when u use deferred shading. Its not that i will promise u get 60FPS without problems because every System is individually
  4. Tahnks guys i will also try to keep this up to date when i see some improvements for myself which maybe helps u also because this process will never end and with the upcoming 2.5 i think there will be also some changes in the graphic configuration.
  5. I think your 970 has 4gb of Video Ram or ? The 1070 offers u a 8Gb V Ram. For simulations a high VRam is in my opinion essential. The Video Card need to have many textures and objects in his pipe so that u dont get stuttering when it reloads stuff. I have also an 1440p Monitor and took me quite a while with a 1070 to get smooth lag free 60FPS with average DCS Settings. Maybe my thread about how i get to that can help u a bit. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200623
  6. First off all this shouldnt be an advice to get a stutter and lag free ingame experience. This is only the way how i figured out how to get DCS with my specs Smooth. I also will explain my ways with my computer specs. So this is how it works if u would have the same rig as mine but we all know that this isnt the case so be aware of what u can use for yourself and what not. Here are my Specs: Intel i7 7700k @4.8 GhZ ASUS Z270H Gaming Motherboard Corsair DDR4 32GB 2666 C16 Asus Geforce GTX 1070 OC STRIX 8Gb Windows 10 Resolution: 3440x1440 TrackIr 5 Lets start with the Base of the whole concept. And this should be figured out by how to know what is important. In this case i found out for myself that the performance given through Windows is important: The Power: U need to be sure that the power options are ready for performance. Therefore u need to give your CPU and your GPU the power which it needs. Put your power options to high performance. Little Hint. Take care that after u restarted your pc the power option can go back and u need to reset it to High performance. The Correct Driver: Not the newest driver is the correct driver for any game. U need to find out which driver works best with the rest of your system or the specific game. In this case i read some articles and found out that the Nvidia Driver 388.71 is one of the latest drivers which are working good with DCS. Correct reinstallation of an Nvidia Driver: If u want to test an older driver as your current u first need to clean deinstall your current driver. Therefore u can use the DDU tool. DDU Tool: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html After u deinstalled the driver and made a restart of your computer u can now clean install the driver version of your choice. Nvidia 388.71 Driver: http://www.nvidia.de/download/driverResults.aspx/128485/de GPU Tweaking: IMPORTANT. Do this only when u be aware of what youre doing. You do this on your own risk. As the third base i found out that the performance also need to be in the correct way. Im not an Overclocking Guru. So i will recommend the following link where everything necessary should be explained. https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?86398-Strix-GTX-1070-Overclocking-Guide CPU Overclocking: This should be really up to u if u want to overclock your CPU or not. In my opinion a good stable not overclocked CPU should handle DCS without problems when the rest of it like DRAM or GPU are good and also correct adjusted. Again windows makes trouble :( : Windows has a maybe handy function maybe not really handy function. Its called SuperFetch. This can maybe in many cases the bottleneck of everything. SuperFetch is a windows function which preloads certains App. But why is this not good? Because it loads stuff which u may not use during gaming which results into useless afford of your computer to help u but it wont. Deactivate SuperFetch: Windows Key + R - write services.msc - Search SuperFetch - RightClick - Deactivate/Stopp Stop running unecessary programs. Try to close all programs which u dont need to play your Game. As example Adobe Cloud or so. Those programs are doing some stuff all the time but have no advantage for u so close them. Nvidia Inspector/VSync: Nvidia Inspector: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/nvidia-inspector-download.html Now we may need to discuss the different between VSync and No Vsync. Why i need this buddy and what he can do for me ? In my case i have an UltraWide LG Curved Monitor with 60 Hertz. But what is this Hertz? No your Monitor doesnt have 60 Hearts :D Its the refreshrate in the electronic way and not like 60FPS in the IT way. But both of them have the same weight. 60 Hertz says that the little things inside your monitor are refreshing 60 times per second. In the IT or Gaming way 60FPS means that your other little things inside your computer are trying to refreshing the datas 60 times per second. And this should be our goal. Ok i know u will getting tired to read this but its what we want to get a smooth moving picture. I also know that some of you arent taking care of VSync because they feel more comfortable with having 100-150 FPS and think hey to have more is better to have less. But youre treating your computer in the wrong way. You force your computer to do more what he needs to do. And what are you doing when your boss is trying to get more then he really needs? You suck and this your computer also do. You get stutters/lags because computer get angry about you and your way to treat. Its angry with you. So take care of him and force him only to do what he needs to do. So put VSync on. And now we also have the Base or Goal for our work: 60FPS But there are more ways to turn on or turn off VSync. U can do it via your game or via your nvidia settings. Honestely i dont know were are the differents but for me it works best when i have Vsync activated via DCS and let nvidia settings at "Use the 3D application setting". I put my Vertical Sync Smooth AFR behaviour to "On" and Maximum pre-rerendered frames to"2". And the Triple buffering to "On". But Nvidia Inspector is sometimes a trial and try thing for me. And this is also the lognest part in the whole thing whats going on here. U need to find things with are bottlenecking you. Try to read some stuff about the functions, try to find out whats helping you and also take your time. But when u try out its necessary to have a base of your DCS InGame settings. so as example press the High predefiend settings and use only this as a performance check. Now our computer feels warm but gets hungry. Therefore we need to put the nvidia settings at : Texture filtering - Quality to "High performance" and at Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration to "Single display performance mode". The InGame Settings thing though: This is the part were u let your computer his base working. Try to work step by step. Its the same like with the inspector. Try to edit the settings one by one and see how it affect your PC. But for example: MSAA, Shadows, Terrain Object Shadows, Depth of Field, Clutter/Grass, Trees visibility and Preload Radius are the most frame Killer. To see the differences i build myself a quick mission inside the normandy. Put myself into an airstart point. Then i started the mission. I flew downwards at a low level height and followed the terrain. Afterwards i saved thge replay as a standard test base. Everytime when i edited settings i used the replay to see the differences. MSAA: My tip is to use it at "2". Its really hard to handle because u dont get really and advantage to have this on "4" but u receive a huge disedvantage in your frames. Shadows: Try to start both shadow options at "Flat". Try this only in the latest stage of your adjustings. Preload radius: Maybe start here with 50-60000. U can adjust this later when everything is stable Depth of Field: I personally dont need this because it may give u sometimes a not good and clear picture to your enemies. HDR/Deferred Shading: I use the HDR because i like the way how it looks and my rig also let it play smooth. There u need to find out what is the best. if u like the way how HDR looks then use this as your base. If not then turn it off and try to set up the rest. Now its up to you how this helps u or not. Its not a really guide or something which u can print out and say this is now my new bible. Its only a short report how i made my way to the stable 60FPS. But the most important info which u should take with u is to have a stable and good working base. I would appreciate it when some of u also can give some experiences with these steps or things so may i can improve the tasks above a bit. Or if there are anythings which u not really understand then let me know and i will explain it more better. And sry for my bad english i tried to write it in a understandable manner
  7. Ok atm i thing i nailed it to have everything fine. I tried many things but now its as smooth as it should be. One thing which may help others with stuttering . Try to Disable SuperFetch. Its a windows thing which puts often used programs into your ram so that those things are faster avialible but also fills your ram with stuff u may not need. Open windows command . Windows Key + R , then type services.msc, inside the list look for Superfetch. Then disable it. But i also tried around with the nvidia inspector and pushed my GPU to its maximum with safe temps etc. Now its possible to run it with Vsync and steady 60fps. Ok maybe sometimes its goes for 1sek to 45 or 30 but nothing where to worry about.
  8. Yeah kind of difficult to handle but still possible to bring the lady down :D
  9. Repsol2k

    Mav STBY

Because of this warm up times etc. u can choose the airstart to have all warmed up and ready to use. Its like the alignment things for NAV. When u do a airstart all alignment things are ready, too. In my opinion when u choose a airstart in the mission editor its to safe time. Safe time for weapon load, safe time for alignment, safe time for warm up or cooling time of the weapons.
  10. Repsol2k

    Mav STBY

Do u have this behaviour when u use a quick mission were the aircraft is already started ? For example when u create a mission and select aircraft with running engines then the MAV's are a RDY state.
  11. So dont know if i would say its a bug or only a quite bad situation. But i got my left wing cutted and then i thought hey what about hovering. In the real world is has some nozzles at the wing to controll the roll. So it should not work well when one nozzle is off. The bahavoiur was lets say "difficult" but as u can see for me there wasnt a big challenge to bring it up and to hover around. Only disadvantage i had was the the roll movement was bit clipping. sometimes it work sometimes not and the reaction came back after 2 sec. I also noticed that at the beginning the harrier was on fire but after the first hover attemp the fire was off. The harrier was quite stable till 150knots with flaps on STOL Position. Over 150knots it banked heavily to the left side and even reducing speed the harrier crashed. Maybe this would be too much info but i refueld the harrier and also the left wing tank get filled :D Shouldnt work when the wing isnt there :D Dont see this message here too serious because yeah to have the harrier with one wing equipped is not a standard situation.
  12. And Make sure u dont have any target selected. Undesignate /NWS Button. When u have still a Target locked the ESHS shows for example not a TACAN Station. After pressing undesignate it shows me the direction.
  13. No it wasnt this issue my HUD is now after changing the DCS texture setting from minimum to medium or migh as it should be. As seen in the picture :) Do u have in your DCS Settings the textures on medium ?
  14. Ok have it :D Sometimes im kind of stupid :D There was already a thread about that and the solution is not to have the texture settings on Low :D Medium or High solves the problem. That accoured as i tried to make some changes to push the VR performance a bit :D
  15. No Mods etc. I installed this DCS a few days ago for having a fresh clean version. I also have one DCS from before the update and there the HUD is correct. Used the DCS Updater Utility to Clean and Repair my DCS version but nothing helped.
  16. Yeah i checked twice if the INS is on NAV or not. I now tried to start a mission from the quick mission menu and took VFR Landing in NTTR. Normally then the HUD should prepared like normal . But look at the picture shows it wasnt as normal as it should be.
  17. Am i wrong or did i saw right that the RWR is now also shown on the HUD. As Example an F5 was Displayed on the HUD. Is this new? Also some details are missing on the HUD . The Witch Hat , the VVM are missing. Also the PITCH Ladder and much more . The AOA symbol is missing and so on. Really confusing
  18. Hey folks. Does anyone found in the meanwhile a proper solution for the problem ? Im hanging atm around with the same sort of problem. Everything works fine except the TrackIr head movement. I have at NTTR Nellis in the Multiplayer with around 10-20 Player (Acrobatic Server) a FPS around 70-110. But still Headmovement isnt feeling smooth as it should be. I saw now for learning purposes a bunch of YouTube videos and everytime i start to cry when i see the guys having a flowty headmovement. Unfortanetely im one of those persons who sees the different between proper FPS cause of the head movement and not cause of a number which is shwoing the FPS. And everytime im asking myself why isnt my TrackIr5 as smooth as the ones from the videos. I only have a 60Hz monitor with 3440X1440 solution. So i try to keep my FPS on a higher lvl. I know that VSync would give me a smoother behaviour when it holds the 60FPS and i dont get in trouble with a not synchronized FPS to Hz amount but sadly when i turn on VSync sometimes it throttles to 30FPS and this is a nogo. My specs are a GTX 1070 8gb OC . A i7 7700k on 4.5GHz. with 32gb of Ram on Win10. But its also for my system hard to handle high settings in DCS 2.2. Maybe we all have kind of Bottlenecks in our system which schouldnt be for everybody the same. But how to find the bottleneck? Anybody out there who stood in front of the same problem and find a way to get rid of the bottleneck ? Are the any tools to find a bottleneck ? I saw yesterday a vido from hellreign82 who told something about Nvidia Inspector settings and the relation to the GPU usage. He showed that u can handle the AA via Nvidia and not the DCS. Therefore u get a reduction of your GPU usage. I was kind of afraid because my GPU usage is everytime at 100% and he showed that his GPU usage was normally at 70 and then get reduced by 20% to 50%. Why do i have all the time 100% when other ones only have 70 or 50 or so ? I know a lot of questions but im getting tired of having no smooth head movement. And i want myself to get more into DCS but with no issues , no stutter and no problems. Maybe there are a few more guys/girls outside who have or had the same problem and also wants to get rid of it.
