In the P-51D if you strafe the water the gunsight disappears and the front sight starts a very large wavy effect. This happened in twilight with moon light reflection on the water. It was the Instant Action free flight from Batumi. After update Heatblur was turned on it was causing the problem....

Changing this file will not pass integrity check in multi servers online that require the check.

DCS will set your axis curves at a 100% 1-1 that is fine if you are using a stick with a length of 28 inches like the real planes. Adjust your roll axis to 20 set your pitch axis to 30 set deadband to 2-4 if your stick has a HAL sensor a little more if it is using Pots. Enjoy the new feel of the plane

Reduced number 2's fuel by 50% he still crashes in the same place before the runway. But thanks for the suggestion.

Let me start off by saying that the work done here is fantastic and I really enjoy your efforts. That being said I realize that that some creators here may get annoyed at this (what will be to them a simple problem) but I am trying to learn. Attached is a simple mission that I downloaded but can’t recall where. I am trying to learn by starting with modifying or fixing simple missions which works most of the time. This one has me searching for the fix. The problem with this mission is that Springfield 1-2 always crashes short of the runway. Nothing I have tried seems to work. Would one of you please take the time to tell me why this is happening and how you would fix it? P51-Camp-1.miz

IL2 is listed as a GAME so in a game this anomaly could be overlooked. This is listed as Digital Combat Simulator as soon as you use the word SIMULATOR you now have a higher standard to maintain. Not just the combat side but all aspects of the aircraft. If this were not true why do we have all the controls and switches to deal with? Each and every aircraft is purchased separately and should be held too a higher level of accuracy. Grass coming through wings is not one. I probably would have never noticed this if not for the fact that engine was shot out and had to ditch in a field. DO NOT misunderstand; I think this is THE BEST flight simulation out at the moment. Many times friends think I must be a sales person for DCS bringing them over to see for themselves how great it is. That’s why I was so surprised when I looked out and noticed grass coming through the top of the wings. The intent was not to start a flame war just to say: This is just wrong you may want to fix it.

As the title says if you land wheels up in a field the wings look like there is grass growing out of them.

I had the same type of problem. I had set up the controls in the control settings for SIM. But I found that under the game settings for the plane the check box was set to GAME which when launching the plane uses the GAME settings for the controls which I had NOT setup to match the SIM settings in the control setup. I hope that makes sense.

If you lasted 2 minuets I tip my hat to your pilot skills. I only lasted 30 seconds after spawning before a Su27 shoved a missile up my butt. Being new to this game, after receiving the P-51 disk version as a gift. Then seeing that there is a map labeled Normandy 1944 with a WW2 asset pack which I also purchase online. Then the disappointment of finding out after installing all of this after a very long download. That the quick missions put me up against modern jets and missiles. This is really not a good way to try and sell a product. Tried playing around to edit the mission which was supposed to be Air to Air I take the time to change all the Jets to 109’s and 190’s and go back in. Oh my you forgot to look for SAM sites well stupid here is another missile up your butt. I did much better my survival time was close to 2 min. the missile had longer to travel I guess… I just thought it was foolish back in 1944 for the Russians to sell Su27’s and SAMS to the Germans. I just find that odd.

To download this update in a one time connection will take me 4-7 days. This is not possible to do this on my network. If you stop the download you go back to square one and must start all over it will not pick up where it left off. To break up this download into smaller blocks would be a great improvement for many people like me that have a slower speed but would still like to update.
