Hi, when you fly in RIO seat in MP, and you want to choose another slot to fly as pilot, DCS crashes to desktop every time. so if I want to change my slot to Pilot seat, even in another coalition, I have to close the DCS once then try to rejoin as pilot. unless I will have a CTD. I have a track and DCS log attached thanks, dcs.log BVR Training without AWACS.003-20201031-214758.trk

DDD Elevation Indicator not working properly
Gunslinger1-1 replied to Gunslinger1-1's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi there. did you had a chance to investigate this? -
Hi. as the manual says: If the HCU is set to RDR the right (IR/TV/EC) needle indicates the currently set elevation center of the antenna scan pattern. This is usefull in STT as it enables the RIO to set the antenna elevation center to use when you eventually revert to search. If the HCU is set to IR/TV the right needle instead displays current TCS elevation. But this is not working as it should because when you select IR/TV in HCU, the right (IR/TV/EC) needle just shows the RDR elevation set by RIO. also when you have a STT target, the left RDR needle doesn't move with the target elevation changes but instead moves with the elevation inputs from RIO's sensor panel.

Hi there, I think this is a issue that you should limit the loadout to not install AIM-54 in the 4 & 5 stations without AIM-54 available in stations 3 & 6. or maybe if I am wrong and you can load AIM-54 in the AFT stations without the necessity to load the front stations, then you should fix the missing adapters when loading AIM-54 in aft stations only. but I think it is not possible to load AIM-54 in stations 4 & 5 and load AIM-7 in 3 & 6 at the same time, so it is a bug.
-
it is possible. I have tried it for a few times and it works.

interesting because his RIO ( Mohammad Masboq ) said that at first they saw a single target, but after closing for a few miles they discovered that there is actually three targets flying close formation and the WCS automatically prioritized the targets and RIO decided to fire at WCS target number 2 which was flying at the center of formation with the confirmation of the pilot ( Assadollah Adeli ) and they fired, and after the missile TTI reached to zero all three targets were disappeared from TID and they couldn't find any fire or splash in they sky and they first though that they had destroyed one of them and the others ran away. but after search and rescue team reached the crash site, they found the debris of three MIG-23 so they confirmed that at the day of 7 January 1982 an IRIAF F-14A TOMCAT with the pilot Lt. Assadollah Adeli and RIO Lt. Mohammad Masboq had destroyed 3 Iraqi Air Force MIG-23's with a single AIM-54 missile over the Kharq island.

that is not true. also there is a problem with the current heatblur F-14B, because during the war the Persian F-14A destroyed 3 MIG-23 with one AIM-54! at a distance of 25NM! I'm not sure at what distance they find the targets but they could easily detect 3 targets flying close formation. while in DCS it is impossible to track 3 targets flying close formation as the radar shows them as a single target even in very close range!

it's not the all you said. the awg-9 frequency and microprocessor is the same as USN. ECM is a bit downgraded. there is a airfield ILS system instead of ACLS. the VHF/UHF panel is a bit different. there is no video recorder for hud ( GUN camera ). datalink was there but IRIAF never had a chance to make them operational at least until 1990. fuel probe was there from the first. yes they had TF30-P-414A engines, there was no TCS and also there was no target designator switch on the pilot left side wall so there was no PAL radar mode and VSL could only selected by RIO. there is no need to do a 2019 Persian tomcat, only the war time ( 1980-1988 ) tomcat would be enough to simulate the Persian cat. -= IRIAF =- team can help heatblur to gather useful information about a 1988 Persian cat if they want to.

same happens to me. I try to safe then rearm it again to stop the sound loop.

MP - Serious issues when players switching on the RIO seat
Gunslinger1-1 replied to viper2097's topic in Bugs and Problems
same thing here. you can click the switches but has no effect and the radar scope was clear while the area was very hot! this happens when you disconnect and reconnect to the server and also when you press the bind keys the pilot switches moves and by pressing A the menu opens with ICEMAN options while at the center of menu it says it is jester menu! it looks like your pilot while sitting at rio position. this issue only gets right when the pilot respawns the plane. -
it looks like the problem is just AIM-7MH and other works fine so just restrict this missile only. it is difficult to move to stable version at the moment.

** DCS: F-14 Development Update - September!! **
Gunslinger1-1 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
in 1984 a single IRIAF F-14 intercepted 4 mirrage F-1 that were flying to kharq island. just before firing those AIM-54, pilot noticed that mirrages has change their heading towards the tomcat. so pilot decides to avoid firing those expensive AIM-54 and enter dog fight with 4 mirrage F-1!!!. the tomcat evade about 7 missiles from mirrages and continued dogfighting for 10 minutes before mirrages run away to their base for emergency low fuel ( none of the mirrage F-1 reached their base due to no fuel ). so dont worry, they wont screw up facing any other pilots. ( cant count how many hornets has been drawn off the IRANIAN air space by IRIAF F-14) -
+1 :smilewink:

there are several sources about the number of kills scored by tomcat. but I have some F-14 pilots in contact and they say it is about 110-160 kills ( I believe it is 112 kills as I counted and I found cues of these kills) and 70% were scored by AIM-54A (not FAKOUR-90, FAKOUR has introduced in 2015 and it was not available in 1980!!!). I have count only one kill with AIM-7E:noexpression:

F-5 and no other jets is not being produced. that F-5 copy was test bed for a third gen fighter using forth gen avionics ( I really dont have any idea why they have done this :( ). but the thing is I dont know what is your document and what is that source of your document that is saying AWG-9 ( IRIAF had made a major upgrade in the AWG-9 with replacing all old style electronics with new ones) is unable to guide hawk missile. that is wrong data because there are +20 hawk fire tests from tomcat with 80% confirmed hits against target drones and two shots against real enemy jets in iran-iraq war. ( one kill confirmed. target: MIG-29A ). FAKOUR-90: there is no details about this missile but the thing is they said that this missile is a medium range AAM in AIM-54s body. and in the test, pilot used code FOX ONE. so I think that it is HAWK inside the missile. and that is true, we have only 20-30 cats flying of 70 available F-14:cry:. IRIAF has old aircrafts and until new jets are purchased, they have to keep these jets alive.
-
HAWK missile is being mass production in both AIM-23C and FAKOUR-90 versions.
-
that is wrong data. HAWK is being produced as the TOMCAT main weapon named FAKOUR-90 in AIM-54 body and the AWG-9 can guide this missile without any problem. FAKOUR-90 is a medium range missile ( about 100KM) using upgraded HAWK SAM missile in AIM-54 body. the seeker of missile is still unknown but in the test video pilot used FOX ONE code for firing the missile.
-
as I know IRIAF is using AIM-7E-4 on the F-14. also IRIAF is now using AIM-9P and AIM-9L (Iranian made AIM-9 named FATER) on tomcats. during Iran-Iraq war. the most successful missile for the TOMCAT was AIM-54A with scoring 70% of 110-160 kills of TOMCAT. the sparrow has scored one or two kills during war :noexpression: the rest of the kills was scored by M61A1 and AIM-9P and some maneuver kills. AIM-54 has scored 3 kills by one missile by shooting down 3 MIG-23s.

Hi there. the project TOFAN ( firing R-27 from F-14 ) was canceled due to AWG-9 was unable to guide R-27. but the R-73 was tested successful but held as a alternative missile for the tomcat. AIM-23C HAWK (project sedjil) was very successful and has archived one victory in 1988 by shooting down Iraqi MIG-29A. F-14 can only carry 2 AIM-23C. Fakour-90 is upgraded AIM-23C in AIM-54A body so tomcat can carry 6 of them. some news reported that Fakour-90 is using active homing seeker but this is not proven yet.
