  1. no reshade... my monitors are both color corrected via Datacolor Spyder 5 Pro.. for me, the greens are slightly neon... and the trees during fall season look a bit too red.. however, the greens in the fall season look more accurate.. Spring and Summer greens seem to be the main complaint.. and i do concur.. either way the detail does look incredible!!!..
  2. its really just the greens in the spring and summer seasons... a little bit too neon... and the trees in autumn are a just a bit too brown/red.... other than that,... insanely beautiful detail!!! Thank You Starway!!!
  3. try deselecting Fullscreen in game and making sure your resolution is set to your main display resolution.. should not look any different, but can perform significantly better..
  4. well... ive run my 4k screen at 1440p and cranked up MSAAx4 and use 4x multisample in NVCP... looks killer and is a piece of cake on the GPU vsynced @ 60hz... on a smaller 1440p panel with a tighter pixel density, it would likely be even better... with your specs, i think you should be runnin nice and cool with plenty of headroom.
  5. if anything, you just need to make sure your affinity is split and not frying or oversaturating just one core all the time... you can use ProcessLasso or Task Manager.. not split affinity= higher single core saturation= Bad split affinity= much easier load on more cores= Good thes pics are just an example of splitting the one primary simulation core across three cores.. performance is rock solid and the cores never even come close to saturation no matter what kind of mission you throw at em..
  6. you should be able to set your refresh rate to 60hz in nvidia control panel and then turn on vsync in DCS.... unless for some reason you cant...
  7. L-Alt+Enter?
  8. Free of charge friend!! glad its runnin great!!
  9. Definitely not a Ryzen problem.. i dont even oc the 1800x.. heavy missions dont even hint at core saturation anymore.. everything is maxed except flat shadows for me... Overall CPU utilization is at 8-9% on Caucus missions... and that is spread quite evenly across 8 of the 16 cores with no core going anywhere near full saturation.. 2 of the cores do act as the primaries but they usually stay under 40% on the graphs.. I do keep it vsyncd at 60... but it is solid as a rock and not even comin close to a hiccup... as for GPU utilization.. its average range is 65-75% with a few 85-92% spikes... and i some times fly in 4k with msaa x2... or 1440 with msaa x4... little bit easier on the GPU in 1440... but pretty close to the same.. and this is all running around 3.7ghz on the cpu.... most of the issues ive seen have been game optimization issues and not really hardware issues... but it has gotten a helluva lot better lately than it had been.... in any case,... i don't think your CPU is your problem.. but if you are chasing max fps for some reason, then i guess it could be an issue..
  10. why cant you just set monitor refresh rate to 60hz in nvcp and then enable vsync in game OR in nvcp??..
  11. Freetrack works flawlessly...
  12. Im still runnin the 1800x.... not even a hiccup... and im not even OC'ing it in DCS... but i do usually keep it locked at 60fps... with the load pretty well spread among 3 or 4 cores... so none of them ever even get close to becoming saturated...
  13. no effect.
  14. noticing same problem... cockpit shadows seem to be broken as of last update... as if there are holes in the textures...
  15. k... gotchya... the reason i was asking about DSR was because it is the only thing that i have ever noticed that sometimes makes the graphs in TM display oddly as they appear in your screengrabs.. I did a little more testing to confirm my CPU utilization is the same as before, and in fact it may be even less.. Again though, you are likely chasing 90fps where i am locked at 60.. regardless, if nothing else has changed on your setup or config, i am a bit weary of what might be demanding an additional 10% of your CPU as compared to 2.5.3xxx... With regards to changes in VR, i suspect, while not particularly mentioned, that we are seeing some of the results of Kegety's shader mod being implemented by ED... this however would only have an effect on GPU utilization and not have any effect on CPU.. might explain some of the image quality differences in VR though. Overall, after comparing my 2.5.4 results with those of 2.5.3xxx, i would say utilization is approximately the same if not better on my system... was previously running at 8-9% overall CPU and currently running at 6-7%.. negligible really.. but still a bit better than before...
  16. i dont like that you are seeing additional CPU utilization.. mostly because i am not... but we do have different sets of variables... so who knows... what i can say is, on my 4k 2d setup, my CPU utilization is the same as it was last update... so no change for me in that regard.. i do run with vsync at 60fps... so that will give me quite a bit of consistency comparing CPU utilization between updates, but it may also suggest that the variable you are seeking may be limited to a VR setting or maybe an updated/changed process of drawing frames in a variable framerate environment... I notice your task manager shots are displaying dual graph charts... are you using DSR in nvcp?... also, i noticed that you have 157 processes running.. Have you ruled out any inhibiting processes that may be affecting performance?... i am generally running 95-100 processes, but always keep an eye out and generally disable or set to manual, anything that might affect priority tasks.
  17. it really doesn't add much load... about 3-6% on the GPU... really should be integrated..
  18. just checked... i have the same utilization as previously at about 8%..
  19. everything looking and working nicely... best update yet... cockpit shadows still look like junk... but other than that... lookin nice... modified the shadows.lua to 8192 resolution.. All sliders maxed and all settings High except Terrain Shadows Flat GPU is running comfy at around 65-73% with spikes to 82% at 60fps vsync.. very nice... everythin is runnin extremely smooth...
  20. well... im sure there is a way to do that.... i just dont know what it is... perhaps ED at some point will become utterly disgusted with cockpit shadows and fix it for everyone.. integrity checks included... till then... we can merely observe their prioritization of important updates and challenging breakthroughs... with a bit of hideous vomit inducing shadowing around the edges.
  21. you can adjust the shadow res by editing the shadows.lua file. set to whatever res you want on any of the preset settings and when you select that setting in game, it will display the res you set it to... I adjusted the High setting to 8192. looks good.
  22. that is correct.. you simply rename the folder in that location to "dcs.old" new shaders and effects will be built in the "C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\fxo" and "\metashader2" folders. takes a while the first start of DCS and the first start of the first mission... after that will start promptly every time.
  23. I have a little trick you can try if you want to change shake parameters.. 1. Copy the "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F-15C\FM\F15" folder where the F15 config.lua is and paste in another location. 2. Open the new config.lua with notepad++, edit the contents, and save it. 3. Using OVGME, set up a quick swap mod for the two F-15 folders. 4. Dont enable the mod yet. 5. Start DCS and load a mission with the F15.. Fly it and then exit the mission.. 6.once back on any menu screen, open OVGME and enable the swap of the two folders.. The F15 will now fly with your modded config.lua until you exit the game or change it back.
  24. He probably meant not get fed the frames from the cpu..
