  1. No, I press nothing. After 5 attempts the other day, I said "ef it" and punched in my THDG on INS page which oriented my HSD correctly...but I shouldn't have to do this.
  2. I am experiencing the same issue as OP. I start the jet, await the MFD's and DED to finish BIT tests and then I turn the knob to STOR HDG. I do nothing after that. The way I know it isn't working is because I know for a FACT that I placed my jet with a True heading (THDG) of 270. However, the INS page (List>6) shows my THDG as 0.0 or 359.9 and does NOT update. On top of that, when it reaches 1.5/10, the RDY does NOT flash. I then turn the knob to OFF and then back to STOR HDG and attempt the alignment again. If I see my THDG update, it is always followed up with a flashing RDY once it reaches 1.5/10. However, it sometimes takes 3-4 tries to get it to work. I have only noticed this in MP, haven't tested in SP yet. Trust me, I am doing the correct procedure. I reviewed Wags' video multiple times and I am doing everything he is doing, just not getting the same or similar result. I will also run a repair and see if that works when I get home, because not everyone I am flying with experiences this issue. EDIT: grammar, missing words
  3. Are the lights on the left side of the UFC going to ever be completed? Additionally, when will the ECM be implemented?
  4. I don't think the deck and overall size is that off. I believe it's the tower and other support structures that are off the most
  5. I know it wasn't mentioned, but will there be an update to the standard pilot model? IMO, the pilot is an eye sore when trying to marvel at the beautiful modeling work done to the aircraft. One of my favorite things about the HB F-14B is the pilot model. It just rounds out the module as a whole. Also, the pilots appear small in scale. Other than that, I am looking forward to everything to come in 2020 with DCS! edit: added one more sentence
  6. Do you know how long it takes to do weathered textures? They will be offering a "DLC" of sorts to the A-10C, similar to the KA-50. The KA-50 will be receiving new weapons, avionics upgrades, and other stuff for a small fee. You can't expect them to do this stuff for free, especially on an 8(?) year old module.
  7. On another note, how do you insert photos into these forums? the insert image button requires a URL???
  8. Someone pointed this out in a comment on the recent Winter Sale video. https://imgur.com/a/smZ72qQ it shows "UNF" instead of "UHF"
  9. Are there plans to implement a TGP offset so we can stop mangling our flight plans on the HSD when we move the TGP in CCRP?
  10. When entering an interval for ripple with 8xMk20 Rockeye's, the CCIP bomb fall line breaks and goes off to one side or the other. The attached track shows the bug with 8x Rockeyes, but I did test it with other quantities of rockeyes as well. EDIT: Tested Mk-82 after posting, and the CCIP seems to work fine after entering an interval with the Mk-82 series EDIT: bug was reproduced on Caucasus as well Mk-20 Rockeye Bug 8xrockeyes.trk
  11. Without the radar gunsight, those who have a hard time with the funnel (myself included) relay on the tracers to see where our shots are going. I don't see this ammo issue being an issue once the radar gunsight is released.
  12. Ground Taxi yaw Is the constant yaw during ground taxi accurate? Makes life without rudder pedals a bit difficult.
  13. thanks for the assist on getting a track, I am stuck at work and won't be able to duplicate for a few more hours.
  14. I was playing around with the TPOD and GBU-10/12 in the instant action mission and noticed that when I expended the last of either weapon, the A/G mode would automatically switch from CCRP to CCIP. This would cause issue with my TPOD as for some reason the TPOD cages to boresight in CCIP (I'm not sure if that in particular is a bug as well, but that's beside the point of this particular post). Because of my TPOD coming off target, I had to act fast or my bomb would miss the target. I found a work around for now, by hitting hitting the NWS button twice to cycle back to CCRP mode, which would restore the point my TPOD was looking. If any other info is necessary, let me know and I will do my best to provide it, although it was pretty easy to re-create over and over again.
  15. Are a higher res and properly scaled pilot model and higher res JHMCS with the proper O2 mask in the roadmap of development? Thanks
  16. WARNING: Long ass post ahead. TLDR at the bottom. Carrier Strike Group 8 is a Digital Combat Simulator (DCS) Relaxed Mil-sim community founded on February 3rd, 2019. Our goal with this community is to offer a place for those of us who enjoy in-game realism and simulation but don't necessarily enjoy an overbearing military structure in the community's social environment. Along with that we wish to share our awesome experiences with other people, and as many of us know, this game only gets better with more like-minded players by your side! We have a minimum age requirement of 17 years old that is strictly enforced. We are based in Central United States and thus follow the Central Standard Time Zone for all scheduling. We offer weekly missions that are handmade and tweaked to maximize fun while maintaining that sense of immersion. These missions occur Saturdays at 9:00pm CST and last anywhere between 1 to 2 hours. Training occurs on most Sundays with a time that is determined by respective squadrons. Why join us? We aim to offer an immersive in game experience while at the same time giving room for a relaxing social environment for everyone to enjoy hanging out with one another, and even play other games. Our members play games ranging from Apex Legends to War thunder to League of Legends and that's to just name a few. We just want to gather people who love DCS into one place so that we can play the game we all love together. We regularly host between 10-14 pilots/RIO's during our weekly missions. All missions are developed in house out of an Operation/Campaign Storyboard. Mission targets/objectives change depending the previous week's mission success or failure. Armament is period appropriate, so no AMRAAMs in our current campaign based in 1988. As a younger unit, joining us would most certainly result in your ability to directly influence our culture and our policies. We have a very open-minded command staff, so if you have suggestions, we will listen. However, we don't expect anyone to come up with ideas for us. So, if you just want to log in to a place occasionally and play DCS, we are the perfect group for you! Policies are actively being developed/tweaked to ensure a fair, fun, and immersive DCS experience. We offer training courses every Sunday for those who are still trying to get up to speed on the whole air-frame or small aspects of the air-frame. Our Commanding Officers were chosen due to their knowledge, skill, and commitment to their squadron and the Strike Group as a whole. If you have a question or don't know how to do something, they are more than willing to work with you and teach you how to do anything. Our Squadrons: VFA-81 "Sunliners" F/A-18C squadron tasked with mostly strike, CAS, and SEAD missions. They are looking for those who love everything about the hornet and want to move some mud with her. Now equipped with the new LITENING Targeting Pod, they no longer require laser assistance from VF-11. VF-11 "Red Rippers" F-14B squadron that is tasked with CAP, Intercept, FAC, Recon, and Fast Strike missions. You can find them in the mission providing support for our Hornet squadron and keeping them safe from all aerial predators. Additional Notes: - All CSG-8 pilots must undergo carrier qualifications to participate in our missions. This was implemented for obvious reasons, although we are relaxed, we need to have some standards and being a naval unit, no standard is more important than the ability to land on a carrier consistently without dying (WE DON'T GRADE). For questions regarding this, please join our discord (link below) and get in touch with CDR Binder, CDR R. Green, or CAPT Luke Jefferson who can answer your questions. - On top of the carrier qualification, we have pilot and NFO specific qualifications to achieve your wings. Wings are not required to fly in missions but let us know who is worth their salt with their respective airframe/seat. - We have a basic attendance policy that can be found on our website, which we encourage all who are looking to join, to look at before submitting an application. - There are NO joining requirements other than those listed on our application. Those requirements are super basic, mainly concerned with you owning either the F-14B or the F/A-18C modules. - We utilize the Open Beta version of the game. We are like all the big MP servers. If you don't know how to convert to the Open Beta version, speak with one of our CO's, they can assist you. -We use SRS for all communications in missions. you must have this installed (don't worry, we can help you) to play in missions. TLDR: Carrier Strike Group 8 is a chill group of DCS enthusiasts with F-18 and F-14 squadrons. We love in game realism AND a relaxed social environment. We are a young unit, so are open to new ideas on policy. The two squadrons are VFA-81 (F-18) and VF-11 (F-14) and both squadrons have open slots. For any questions, please join our discord (link below) and message Binder, R. Green, or Luke Jefferson. We have basic qualifications and even more basic requirements to join. All requirements can be found on our application on our website (link below). If you love DCS and want a chill and relaxing community but still maintains in-game immersion, check us out! If you’re interested in joining, apply on our website at https://vcsg8.enjin.com/ If you would prefer to ask some questions prior to applying, join our discord at https://discord.gg/dyKDgs6 We at CSG-8 hope to share our love for Digital Combat Simulator with you!
  17. Smoke rendering in IR from explosions/rocket motors/etc The smoke image while in FLIR on the new F-18 TPOD and either white or black hot is way over saturated, making the explosions just blobs of bright white (or black) rather than a realistic looking FLIR image. I understand that the FLIR rendering is being actively worked on, but why does this not occur to some people? I see over saturated blobs that look horrible while others see properly shaded explosions. I borrowed a couple of images a poster on reddit (u/goodman_od) shared. Is this being tracked and actively worked on?
  18. I made a quick video tutorial on this exact thing for my squadron. Check it out below. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XcOVDYQsAD4YXjiK0RyYkpZ9UHNpXzPN
  19. I noticed you guys are rolling with the base pilot model + JHMCS from the hornet. Are there plans to update the model. You guys are updating aircraft models and stuff, isn't it about time you make the pilots look less 2008ish? Not to mention, being a huge fan of the Viper, I couldn't help but notice how small your pilot model was while sitting in the seat of the Viper. Just google F-16 pilots during AAR and you will see how much of the cockpit volume those pilots really take up. It helps people grasp just how small this jet is. Also, using the proper O2 mask (MBU-20/P) as opposed to the MBU-12 (elephant trunk). Anyhow, I know there are a lot larger priorities for this aircraft, but when it comes to sims, the small details matter to a huge percentage of this game's community. I am looking forward to the release of this jet. When you guys announced it, I got chills from excitement.
  20. If I were to buy the final standalone modules that make up FC3 that I do not already own, is there a way I can convert over to a full FC3 license? There are 3rd party free mods that require FC3 that I would love to fly but they require FC3 to fly. But when I own 3 of the FC3 aircraft already, it's hard to convince myself to purchase a full FC3 license. I'm wondering if I can prove that I own all FC3 aircraft (separately, not as part of the FC3 license), could I convince you guys to revoke those individual aircraft license and replace them with an FC3 license. I mean, technically I would have spent more on them alone than from purchasing an FC3 license, so this would ultimately be a win-win. Thanks
