I thought that the purpose of an advanced ECM is to create a fake but believable target. The methods of doing that are most likely classified.

This image looks like a clue to me. I don't know about any snowy peaks in the Caucasus map that are that close to the coast. It looks like we are heading North because that's a permanent snow cover.

I think that it might be Singapore. It checks all the boxes. Absolutely beautiful so it could be Wags's favourite place to fly in real life. It was a warzone in the World war 2. It could be a good fit for multiplayer matches. It has a sea so it's suitable for both land based and carrier ops. It expands into a new part of the world. Singapore's official language is Chinese which fits the sign posted above (maybe).

I believe that their work on the free map begun in 2018 according to this article. Six months is a plenty of time to show something like an imported landscape or a few small detailed areas. I still can't find a matching landscape that could be in the Syria map.

It looks like the carrier deck crew demonstration screenshots were taken on the free map. The hills in the background appear to be covered with grass and trees. It's more difficult because there are two people using the same cockpit and touching the same switches so there is much more stuff to sync.

You can edit a generated mission and change your starting point. Just set it to start from runway to easily see the player aircraft.

Do you just want the Normandy map for free?

Normandy is not made by ED. They said that the free map should have a modern and World war II version.

Well it happens... I meant eastern Asia.

Himalayas are probably not possible. The area haven't changed much but most of the airports were build after World war II. There is a desert on the North side and fields on the South side that are comparable to the Caucasus map. There are dense forest in the middle that would crush performance. Best layout would be if the Himalayas were in the middle of the map. Map's altitude completely eliminates any kind of helicopter flying and even low flying planes like the Su-25t would need some carefull route planning to get to their destination. It would have to be about 1100 km high to have a bit of ocean. It absolutely does that. We don't have any Asian map at the moment.

I think that the map is supposed to be usable with World war II aircrafts without looking too weird rather than being an actual World war II map.

I would like to see a flyable S-3B Viking in DCS.

That airport screenshot looks like the Syria map based on it's ground tone and those warehouses that are also visible in the F-16 trailer.

I think that these screenshots were taken on the Persian Gulf map but I'm not sure.

It will be either scenic or personal (like his hometown or something). I mean wouldn't you want to fly around your hometown?

Any more ideas for good sightseeing places considering that the Hawaii was denied? We might have to ask Matt for another hint.

The upcoming Falklands map should include part of South America but I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for.

I think that the free map will have a lot of mountains because Wags seems to be really into mountain flying (at least based on his videos). Himalayas maybe? The reason why he havent announced it yet might be because of a limitation in DCS that they have to overcome (inability to make terrain that is higher than 6553,5 meters?). I mean every "standard thing" as far as I remember was announced right after or even before its development started so they are probably not sure if they can do it.
