if its a dynamic spawn airport you are trying to put them at, did you make sure that the AI airframes are allowed to spawn there? (EDIT: one of my noob squad mates made this mistake)
-
unfortunately the solutions proposed by @Actium and @Gater45988 both take away too much from the log. If there's a script error or warning or info I'd like to still get those, in order to debug any issues. It's just all the event spam which only shows on a multiplayer server that I'd like to suppress
-
how does that work exactly? is it looking for the word "SCRIPTING" in the log message and suppressing it? unfortunately not, I just have been getting by with excessively large DCS.log on the dedicated server. tools like klogg have helped to filter the log from a readability point of view, but I'm still concerned about the performance impact
-
agreed, i've had no issues with them since i bought them
-
Yep that fixed it! the cleanup/repair identified these files, one/all of them must have been the culprit: Scripts/Speech/common.lua Scripts/Speech/speech.lua Scripts/UI/RadioCommandDialogPanel/RadioCommandDialogsPanel.lua Scripts/UI/RadioCommandDialogPanel/TabSheetBar.lua Scripts/UI/gameMessages.lua I think its Vaicom / VoiceAttack which modified these files. @Livers do you run Vaicom Pro perchance?

I was mistaken actually. When I had a brand new saved games/DCS folder, it still had the issue. I didn't realize that the test message initially appeared completely hidden behind the bar at the top of the screen. Here's a video of what I see. The test message shows eventually lower in the screen because it gets pushed down from the top of the screen by the comms menu, but its still being hidden at the start when the comms menu is not displayed. i've tried different screen resolutions, thinking my ultra-wide aspect ratio might be the issue, but 16x9 and 5x4 still showed the issue. EDIT: you will notice that the Comms Radio menu appears in the proper location (not cut off), but the "this is a message" text comes up hidden behind the bar at the top of the screen. EDIT2: actually upon watching the video again, and seeing Flappie's screenshots in this thread, I think its just because there's extra padding above the Comms Radio menu, that's why it doesn't get cut off DCS World MT_2025.03.01-15.28.mp4

with a brand new saved games/DCS folder, i didn't see the issue. Interesting. I can try comparing versions of files if I have an idea what files to look at. options.lua is one, any others to consider?
-
@Flappie apologies for not responding sooner. I have also tried turning off Upscaling, but it made no difference. This is my options.lua, see attached. i also tried running your trk file, and I see the issue there unresolved. options.lua

i am indeed using Windows 11, and tried turning off Game Mode per that link but it didn't make a difference. I know of at least one other person who has this issue in DCS, and in other full screen games (e.g. AOE4), it works fine. It would be nice to hear if others have this issue and what the common denominator is.
-
This issue does not appear resolved to me, even though it was mentioned in the DCS 2.9.12.5336 changelog. I have Scale GUI at 1 and have the same clipping.

I alt-tab often especially when working on missions (flipping to my scripts, or my DCS.log, or even just Discord). In the past alt-tab worked like... every other application that has ever exists since Windows 95. Now if I have DCS open and alt tab, it will put DCS behind every window that is not minimized on the desktop. What should happen, is the application chooser should appear, and when you release alt-tab, it would only bring focus to the app you chose. I don't even know how DCS can be made to behave in a unique way within Windows, but I'd like it to work like normal. Any other windowed game will work the way I describe above. Under DCS System settings, "Full Screen" is unchecked, as it has always been. In fact, the behaviour as it is similar to if "Full Screen" were checked. it seems to work normally from load screens within DCS, but once the game, or the Mission Editor has loaded, it acts abnormally

DCS Optimized Textures Powershell Script
Zyll replied to zbysiek's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
Are you running the "Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted" command in PS 7.4 as admin? The steps you quoted indicated to run in classic powershell, but I believe this is incorrect Zyll @ TAW -
> Fixed: crash that was induced by some modules using custom effect presets. Do you have any additional details what modules were impacted or what these "custom effect presets" are? I was trying to troubleshoot excessive crashing last Sunday, and would love to be able to associate them with this fix. My DCS is normally pretty stable, but it crashed 6+ times in an hour span with dxbackend.dll which has not happened in a long time for me. Thanks,

I run it every time I see the changelog mention significant model changes, like destruct models and whatnot. I would run it this time. Zyll @ TAW -

You ran the Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted command I assume? Zyll @ TAW -

Apologies, I was going off memory and apparently remembered wrong, I thought the PS prompt was different in 7. I'm not sure what the issue is that you are having. Zyll @ TAW -

Ps7 is a different executable. You can tell from the "PS" prompt in your screenshot that you are still running the old PS, even though you installed PS7. It's really dumb, and an easy mistake to make. Zyll @ TAW -

Oh amazing, thanks for making everyone's lives easier! Zyll @ TAW

Oh yeah for sure, you could merge them. Just don't apply ONLY the Morpheus change. Zyll @ TAW

This is a patch you apply after Vivid Syria Zyll @ TAW

hmm, is this working for anyone after today's DCS patch? I am stuck with an empty Temp folder. I've followed the correct steps, but it seems hung for me. EDIT: disregard, I just needed to wait 10 minutes for it to start processing files. I guess its related to the exception file logic that must be running at the start. -

i'm not really supporting this app, if you want to sort it out here, that's fine I'll try to help, maybe @zbysiek might have some thoughts why its not working for you. -

wait if there's no Mod folder, then where are you seeing the empty directories being created? EDIT, the Mod folder that gets created would be this one: C:\Users\MyName\Desktop\Reduced Texture Mod\Mod\Mods\aircraft\CH-47F so it seems like the script is running, in that its creating the folder structure and all. If its not actually generating files though, I think either the "Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted" command is not taking, or maybe you don't have sufficient drive space on C drive, or there's nothing to convert. for the record, in my Mods\aircraft\CH-47F\Cockpit\Textures folder I have a Cockpit_CH-47F_Textures.zip which ends up being 1.5 GB (vs the default 3.X GB) you should also have a CoreMods\aircraft\CH-47F\Textures folder with a ch-47f.zip of around 500 MB
