Works like a charm. However I don't recommend optional damper for helis, because it was sticky movement reducing precision.

It seems that searchlight is bad only in some modules like our UH-1H or Mi-8. I recently was flying TF-51D and its landing light was really OK, so it could be great for this mission to have it corrected.

I was able to finish Mission 4 in DCS 2.5.3. (meaning you literally don't have a searchlight), but I have to use some tricks. SPOILER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: The goal is to be in destination place ASAP when you have still some daylight. How to achieve this: Prepare to do many things at the same time, which is: 1. Press Fly (time strarts ticking) 2. IMMEDIATELY start the helicopter. During holding start button you set Radio to INT and call for rearm (I use VAICOM PRO) and leave only front machine guns. Ground crew will tell you several time "What are you doing?" because Huey moves on the deck due to rough sea. It is not the problem. It will get rid of heavy gunners. ALso during startup you change the ADF to Batumi. 3. From this moment you take off ASAP, don't wait for any announcements from copilot. 4. Current OpenBeta is not so restrictive for EGT, so you set your collective at 600 deg. sharp and Fly 120 or alomost 120 knots. I fly 30-50 feet over the rough sea. 5. After setting collective to max allowed value and during flight, turn on the light switch, radar altimeter, lightning, etc. I use Thrustmaster TARGET to map 1 button for all 6 lightning knobs. 6. During flight you will have to keep little bit left rudder, because you are deviated right. 7. From Batumi you follow the road, don't need to fly over refugee camp, you follow the canyon all the time. 8. After some time you meet 3 vehicles which you destroy still during last sunlight. 9. Try to land near the trees just some distance after you killed convoy. I have landed not in proper space, but I didn't have to struggle with wind. 10. Then you have to wait for second Huey, because he was not so fast, maybe 2-5 minutes. I don't remember exactly. When huey arrives it is almost dark. 11. Second huey deploys troops and there is radio transmission about it. 12. You get close to the second huey in ground effect (easier). This time searchlight is a little bit useful. When you land near the huey you are done. I am looking forward to make this mission again when lightning will be corrected by ED.

Outstanding mod. It stays with me. Thank you @sSkullZnBoneZz I just installed it on latest beta and here are my remarks: 1. If you put the mod to "Saved Games" folder only SOME of the sounds are changed. For example the siren stays original. Once I moved it to "Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS openbeta..." I have full sound. I noticed that starting sound (whining) is not so loud. I use Oculus headphones. Second thing I find very attractive is the difference in volume with side doors open vs closed. This is awesome :) My 2 cents for OvGME. In Win 10 in order to copy to "Program files" folder you need administrator privileges, so if you don't run OvGME (I personally don't use it but I tried) as administrator, the files are not copied. Administrator privileges are not required when copying to Saved Games folder. Maybe it helps. Any update will retrieve original files.

Thanks for the tip, but I previously tried them both. It never works. I even tried your suggestion with restarting. It didn't help either.

I still strugle with the problem described by huppel on page 25. I haven't found the solution. Hollywood, as far as I remember I even PM you with the same problem, but I think I didn't get answer. Example: if there is a ship near Batumi and I want to call "Batumi, inbound" I never get response, because ship is closer. My voice recognition works 100% fine, especially for Batumi. Using menu it always works. Any solution?

I ordered during summer vacation and I have waited around 2 months.
-
I received mine around 1 month before planned shipping. I am from Poland so shipping took 1 day.

Thanks. I couldn't find similar thread. I was suspecting mag var as well.

using the NS430 in Mi8 in VR (cockpit embedded) I have noticed that when I setup sat nav to show truck up in order to keep up with the pink line it must be rotated around 20 degrees right. In truck up it should be as straight (North-South) as possible. Anyone has similar experience? Maybe it is a matter of setup but I can't find it. Thanks in advance.

Yes, I know, but stock spring even if loosen by screw is still too hard for helis.
-
IMHO default spring is way to hard for helis. However you can buy sevaral springs in local store and attach whatever is good for you. Flying MI-8 is way more precise with these pedals now. I didn't expected it will be so good. Previously I was using Thrustmaster plastic pedals. There is no comparison.

I just received mine. Outstanding quality, look. I changed the spring to lower tension in order to fly helicopters. Finally I have anti-torque propeller under control. I am amazed with the product. I highy recommend to buy.

Tested yesterday, it still doesn't work in Oculus. -
@Hollywood_315, first of all thank you for this great software. I have a question to your post from page 18. I have big problem with my voice recognition in training mode, even for the phrases which work fine during gameplay. For example, I am always recognized with "Request taxi to runway" in sim, but during training it does not seem to show me confidence and Windows display additional options, which is completely different to what you have shown on your YouTube video. So I have the following questions: 1. Does the training mode of Viacom 2.5 PRO stores my pronunciation and enhanced recognition in the future or it is only for me to see when I make progress? The second one never works no matter how I try. I have typical Polish accent of English words. If the answer is first option is it stored in Voice Attack or Windows Speech Recognition? 2. If I want to switch to other ATC which I started no matter what I say I always get answer from mother ATC. For example I start in Batumi and everything works fine. Then I am close to "Kobuleti" and I change frequency to "Kobuleti" (Easy comms OFF), then I say: "Kobuleti <pause> inbound" and I don't get reply, because it is recognized as "Batumi, inbound" which is obviously not recognized on Kobuleti frequency or not recognized at all (don't remember correctly). Command "Select Kobuleti" does not work either. Do you have any tips for this situation?

Yesterday I changed FOV from default 140 to 120 and played for 3h in VR without the crash. GPU-Z was monitoring sensors all the time. GPU load was all the time at 99%, never hit 100%. That's why it did not crash. Furmark normally charges GPU on 100% without the crash so for me it is clear proof that it is a bug in DCS 2.5 which should be fixed. Anyway it was my first succesful test on underclocked GPU and max settings, pixel density in Oculus: 1.5. Next week I will try to overclock GPU and I will see what will happen.
-
I did exactly the same, underclocked GTX 1080 TI as much as I can, still display driver crashes, sounds remain. However I noticed a rule. It happens exactly at the moment when GPU load reaches 100%. This factor can be seen in msi afterburner, gpu-z, etc.

I would like to say that since last update considered stable now , 2.5.0.15365 I have constant crashes. I can easily force it by starting TF51D in Batumi, external view and a few look around movements crashes to logo of DCS. I also have GTX 1080 Ti, happens even underclocked on 90% power as factory ASUS silent setting. First I encountered problem on Oculus VR, but now happens also with VR disabled. Previously I had Display driver stopped working and recovered, so I did: Revert to driver 388.59 as oculus suggestions using DDU and ALL suggestions for power settings, etc. I was able to fly for 90 min over Las Vegas with Huey. So I thought problem is solved. Then I switched on shadows and problem started but with different results showing DCS logo. Switching off shadows does not help. I reverted Dcs to version 2.5.0.14304 succesfully. Problem still remains. Page file is set on default system settings. I have 10 gigs of RAM on i7-920. For me DCS is also unplayable. I spent previously at least 30-50 hours without single crash even using pixel density 1.8. Other VR games runs perfectly for long time like Assetto Corsa and Euro Truck Simulator 2. I also made Memtest86+ which did not show any problems.

Thrustmaster T.16000 extension mod for helos.
kristod76 replied to kristod76's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I used 10 wires set which is flat. I have put it inside the pipe after bending and removing sand. The original cables were cut and the wire set was used as extension. I have also removed the yaw sensor. Currently yaw functionality is not working which improves a lot. There are 9 wires used in total, so all buttons in the grip works properly. It is possible to easily create a button box using wires to buttons in the main body, because now I don't like to lean so low to use them. I have some extra photos, but not too much. I will try to add them to album photos. I almost don't feel spring tension which is great for helos. -
Hello DCS community, I would like to share my Thrustmaster T.16000 extensions mod which I recently did on my own. Please have a look at the pictures: https://photos.app.goo.gl/aT3vZTGqfiTYkWJ22 The extension length (straight line) is around 50 cm. It was made from aluminium pipe 16x1,5 mm, however the external diameter of plastic original pipe is 14 mm, so I had to make it thinner. I fly almost exclusively helos, sometimes TF-51D and I find it as great mod. T.16000 uses hall effect sensor and its resolution seems to be more than enough. Extension gave me possibility for very accurate corrections of flight, especially with sling loads. Everything was made as DIY, including pipe bending with usage of cheap tools. In total I have spent 10-20 hours to do so, considering that everything was new for me. Aluminium is great material for bending when very high temp. is applied, but I have sand/dirt inside to avoid instant crack. Cost of pipe is around 1,5$ in Poland, so the total cost were close to nothing, only labor work was significant for me. In DCS I have set controller to be used only half of its movement, which is very similar to real movement of the real stick (UH-1H). Here are the settings in DCS, please note that due to 50 cm extension it is mandatory to reduce saturation X, I found that exactly half is perfect: Deadzone: 0 Saturation X: 50 Saturation y: 100 Curvature: 0 unchecked: slider, invert, user curve. Maybe somebody will find this info useful. Happy flying.
