Hey guys, I am still over on DCS 1.5.8 and enjoying it tremendously with very high frame rates (150 - 170 fps average) on some of my 'home brew' 8 vs 8 missions (Mig-15bis / F-86F). Using a 144hz/1ms monitor and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 graphics card with only 4GB on the card and 16GB RAM. How are things going over on DCS 2.5.1? [May 4th 2018 update: Have put together 12 F-86 jets vs 12 Mig 15 jets over Gudauta missions on the Mission Editor - getting mid 100 fps frame rates even with 24 aircraft in the sky. (Make sure to select an 'excellent' wingman AI!). Is the SeaQuark Multiplayer Server still active? I'll spend the money on whatever you guys think my pc upgrades should be regarding graphic cards etc. Have not received any inputs or help regarding this matter. Let me know if you guys are flying over on DCS 2.5.1. Thanks.] Not sure what I will need to upgrade to. Make sure you make a copy of DCS 1.5.8. It works tremendously well on a 4GB Nvidia graphics card in non multiplayer mode with a single Dell 27inch monitor. Need help to figure out what the right upgrades would be. Hey, come back over to the DCS 1.5.8. I'm lonesome over here! All mulitplayer servers are gone so I make up a lot of Mission Editor Mig15 vs F86 missions.

Please mention which PC Gaming monitor that you guys are using, Mhz speed, refresh rate, etc. I would start with a monitor that can do all of the following: (it has made a world of difference in FPS): In March 2018, I upgraded from my original 24 inch ASUS 60Hz monitor to the Dell S2716DG ‑ 27" LED Monitor ‑ WQHD. Bought it on sale at BBuy for $469.00 but I also bought a second one for my wife for $399.00 through Dell.com (Dell had a very short time limited sale at their website about a week ago). Highly recommend this monitor for single monitor players. I am still on DCS 1.5.8 and it plays beautifully both offline and online (with the few multiplayer servers still over on 1.5.8.). I don't need to see every tree or leaf, flower, I need FPS (I'm into the F-86 vs Mig15 bis dogfights), but the scenery is beautiful in 1.5.8. It has made a tremendous difference in FPS (low to mid 120s to 150s) while playing all the time at 2560 X 1440 and G-Sync enabled. Has: 144Mhz refresh rate. 27 inch screen. 1Ms response time. G-Sync compatible (with my GeForce GTX 980 card with 4Gb RAM on card). Rev no. on outside of box says 'A08' and was manufactured Dec 2017. [i asked the BB salesman to read off the revision codes on the boxes he had stacked up in the showroom...A08 was the latest vs. A06 and A07 he had on the shelf] TN panel but it is exceptionally better than the older TN panels. This will be really exciting and provide some very interesting missions. Fighter pilots will have to protect the Komets takeoff and landing fields from enemy fighter aircraft who would try to shoot them down on their glides and landing approaches (similar to Me-262 jet stories). It looks like it will be really fantastic to fly the simulation. If nothing else, it will be a great 'trophy plane' to add to my aircraft stable and to design offline missions for it through the Mission Editor! Well done! Salut!

See the BB website for the 700 plus reviews on this monitor. They have three or four hundred comments about gaming, G-Sync, refresh rate, etc. Don't pay retail. Wait for BB (or Dell.com) to put it on sale. $469 - buy it. I'm still new to DCS, so let me know if these comments by brand specific is ok. Can delete whatever you guys tell me to do. My next upgrades are....? Graphics card with at least 8GB of RAM? A new CPU such as the i7-8700K with a CPU air cooler fan along with a bigger power supply? A new motherboard? I don't know. cichlidfan, Understood and appreciated. I will let things settle out for a few months and see how the DCS 2.5 stable (when it comes out) runs on my current PC setup. Thanks again for the comments and advice. I saw that some guys are going for a clean straight download of DCS 2.5 (Open Beta), vs upgrading their DCS 1.5.8 versions...claiming some bugs or something in their upgrade downloads--not sure of their facts. Maybe I should do a simple, clean download of DCS 2.5 stable when it comes out? I've only been flying the F-86 and Mig 15bis right now.

Want to download the DCS 2.5 stable when it comes out and play on Multiplayer Servers at the standard 1920 X 1080p resolution level for now as I learn more about computer gaming, graphics, etc. The Monitor advice makes great sense too!

New graphics card coming April 2018?

February 22, 2018. My question: Should I spend the money to upgrade my current PC computer’s RAM, Graphics Card, PSU, CPU, etc. or just buy a pre-built with a NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1080 TI graphics card and all the support hardware already installed—to play DCS World 2.5 for five years? Any reputable pre-built PC companies that you can recommend would be helpful. I’m not a tech dude. I realize no graphics card or pc system will play all the time at 60 FPS – a benchmark for reasonable play. I am a new DCS World player. I just want to play DCS World 2.5 and beyond on multiplayer (more video RAM required?) online servers and campaigns offline on a single desktop monitor (1080p) with TIR5, joystick with twist rudder, throttle and a full-size Desktop Tower (for ‘future proofing’) and play specifically for DCS World – no other games. (have all these items) Currently play on DCS stable version 1.5.8.12823.414. Waiting for DCS 2.5 final release. Many Servers already gone over to the 2.5 Open Beta. Very few left on 1.5. RAM--Add an additional 16GB of exactly the same DDR4 2133 MHz ($250-$300) 2. SSD--Add a SSD 500GB ($150-$200 - not sure where or if it will fit…) 3. Upgrade graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 TI Founders Edition (New: $1,000 to $1,500….if they were available…). Remember: April release time for the new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2080 series graphics cards. 4. Upgrade PSU to 1000W – $250 - depends on graphics card (‘future proofing’ ?) or: 5. Don’t spend the money to upgrade. Purchase a pre-built gaming pc with the 1080TI card, etc. already installed in it. Appreciated any comments. I've been really pleased with the 'JustDogFight' Server in multiplayer. They use a blue dot/Blue Player team vs. the red dot/Red Player team. The blue or red dots for the aircraft are only visible from a reasonable distance away from each other. Perhaps a similar system would help other Servers in Multiplayer? Or in 2.5.
