Odyssey+ Spotting Issues: Can't move mud at all
Sniper175 replied to Nealius's topic in Virtual Reality
Sounds like you have draw distance on a low setting to me. Have mine on Ultra and never have issues seeing ground tgts. I run the 200% in steam Vr on my Odyssey + Put your texture settings back to high and see if that helps -
Clarity on those pictures is not even close to being accurate. These pictures could constitute false advertising. The clarity when its on your face is much different then what is potrayed in the pictures. These idiot youtubers need to stop spreading BS with these pictures. Then everybody's eyes are different and ipd, will make the picture clarity and more variable in both directions
-
Rift S will be best choice for DCS World for new or even veteran VR flyers. Performance and experience will be better than a super high resolution headset like say the Reverb. As much as i love my odyssey + the wmr software and going through stupid steam vr to play dcs world is just stupid and it cost processor usage and thus hurts performance in dcs world. Clarity is not everything, smoothness, performance and ease of use is more important, go Rift S wont be dissapointed. Odyssey + resolution is perfect as is, go 1.3 pixel density and you can read everything in the pit and also see tgts easier than any flat screeners, so no issue on my pit with it. You dont need a 2080ti and uber 9900 processor for great performance currently with above headsets without killing graphics settings. Reverb will bottlekneck the 1080ti quick at its standard res, and 2080ti quick once you start upping the pixel density to get rid of all those jaggies you dont see in the pictures floating around...

my odyssey + on my face is clearer than the reverb in that picture. These pictures, lord i give up have fun.

Can we not have these stupid snake oil pictures. It demonstrates nothing but the quality or lack there of the camera. Your eyes will see something completely different. Geez look at those pics no jaggies and so clear, then you put device on your head and its crawling with jaggies. I hope none of you base your purchase decisions on those pictures.....:helpsmilie:

So this current patch that items did not make it in. Will they come tomorrow and or is ED aware of this and can get a hot Fix? :joystick:
-
What we need is a report of it in motion inside dcs flying low above trees. Could care less about crappy phone pics that don’t reflect at all what a human eye sees in the details. We already know the image quality is great, performance and motion in dcs is what I need to know.

Well does it work?

M13: SENSORS AND TARGET DESIGNATION thread
Sniper175 replied to imacken's topic in Training Missions
I literally just flew the mission, no issues other than the missing features. -
Can't praise RAZBAM enough for these training missions!
Sniper175 replied to imacken's topic in Training Missions
Have to say also super impressed with the training missions, sets a new standard. Thanks for the work:thumbup: -
it works but it has its quirks and seems to reduce overall performance when enabled. Its much more stuttery compared to ASW on Oculus when experiencing a lower fps below 45 that happens in dcs often for one reason or another
-
well yes the cpu overhead with oculus software is top. WMR it is not as good cpu side of the house. I constantly change between cv1 and 0+. Plus oculus has a much better ASW software side of house especially with recent updates.:pilotfly:
-
Its not exact math on my part nor was it meant to be. Its the basis of basically what you just said. i dont see high graphics settings flying low over trees with no issues with the reverb
-
So basically if you can run odyssey + at 2.5 pixel density you should be good with the reverb. Either way graphics settings will be so low on the reverb, the maybe little improved clarity won’t be worth how ugly dcs will look to just get playable frame rates. Higher the res the more the jaggies stick out anyway as the screens are in your face.
-
Here’s the thing. The change log 99 percent of times does not reflect all changes in said update.
-
Every aircraft needs this, great work?
-
check WMR reddit, evidently issues with headset aka software or something, its delayed until the 8th as of now
-
awesome, lots of us getting the rift S. I recently went back to CV1 until the Rift S gets here on the 22. Odyssey + just runs like crap. Oculus software just works better with DCS and thats all i care about. PS whats everybody going to do for Headset sound with this thing? Here the little speakers suck on it
-
well if its dcs that your all concerned about, then rift S is the way to go. Software and usability beats out steam vr and windows mixed reality every day. Resolution who cares, it only matters to a point at this stage of the game with current hardware and the state of DCS. Until both improve Odyssey + is the max resolution you should shoot for. This is for dcs. now all the other crap out there for VR ya max the res and go for it. Just not for dcs.
-
Well if it’s like the odyssey + it will probably be on the hand controller which is perfectly fine as I am one of the few that fully uses the hand controllers in the pit instead of the mouse.
-
Good choice. We are not in a position yet hardware wise to run those ultra high resolution headsets in dcs yet. So the Rift S should be a winner for now

After seeing some reviews I ordered again and will receive on May 22. I’ll give my impressions here
-
It’s a huge issue. What is the iPd range this headset will fit? If they don’t have official specs on that then it’s a huge risk buying a headset for those on the extremes of iPd sizes. Have any reviewers stated iPd range for this one. I’m about to buy it but holding off due to no physical iPd adjustments. My iPd is 61.7, the odyssey + just barely works and that has a physical adjustment. So I may be on the smaller scale.

cant read your screen shot -
No physical ipd adjustment what are these developers thinking? Cancelled my order. Having the ipd exactly dialed is by far the most important thing with any type of optics.
