  2. Sure, we ALL saw the Viper. But you wont be flying it for MONTHS! So relax.
  3. Just when I thought I would enjoy some DAYTIME dogfighting, ED plops some FREAKING STARS in the sky for the bandit to get lost in. SERIOUSLY ED????? Why do you guys insist on making everything a pain in the ass? I appreciate all of the hard work but, c'mon guys, give us a break.
  4. I’ve also noticed, when your wingman is totally defensive, he doesn’t call you for help. He just follows you around hoping you’ll notice.
  5. Thanks a lot! Some of these user missions are GREAT! Now, How do I upload my own creations?
  6. Hey guys, So I'd like to download and play missions / campaigns created by other users, but I'm certainly not a "computer guy". This is how dumb I am: I clicked the Download button, opened DCS and expected the new mission to be there. Clearly I've missed a few steps. After you're done laughing, can you please help me download and play some user content? Thanks!
  7. Mine is doing it also. After the last update, the AI carrier takeoffs started bugging. Off of cats 1 and 2, they leave the deck, disappear, then re-appear on the port side of the boat and continue to climb out. Cats 3 and 4 won’t even launch. I found that out the hard way during a Case 3 recovery! I wish the LSO calls were squared away.
  8. IRONHAND Wow. Impressive. Thanks to everyone for your input. “God’s G, the little bit at the top” Nice!
  9. Hey guys, Is it just me, or does anyone else find it hard to pick up speed (quickly) when the nose is pointed straight down, and the jet is in full burner? I've heard ACM instructors call "altitude for energy", using "God's G". I would expect even the little F5 to regain that valuable cornering energy quickly when pointed at the ground in full burner. But here sadly, God's G isn't much help. OR maybe I just suck. Anyhow, I'm interested to know what you think. Fly fast and take chances! Cheers.
  10. It is with great humility when I say, I stand corrected. This is my first experience with Track IR and obviously the older games did not have/use it. Hmmm...I guess I want the best of both worlds. Thanks for not thrashing me to bits (you certainly could've). Cheers mate.
  11. You're wrong sir. The only thing locked in the HUD when caged is the flightpath marker (a ghost marker is provided for your true flightpath). Everything else moves.
  12. I agree with these guys. Time spent practicing is the only thing that will get you there (along with a decent HOTAS because a keyboard ain't gonna cut it). A HUGE factor is knowing EXACTLY what the speed of the tanker is. Unfortunately, the tanker does not give you this information when you ask permission to join (and it should) and the exact speed of the tanker (at this time) does not match the speed you assign it in the mission editor. You're going to have to figure that out once you get in close and take notes. Once you do that, tanking in the F18 will become quite simple...even when the tanker goes into a turn! Have fun!
