  1. the 200mb attachmentnull limit means im having to remove some old photos to post new ones sadly but heres the sun regardless
  2. Got the rivet details sorted and lined up, next to do is the radiator cowling and a few more fasteners
  3. The rivet details are textures and not polygons fortunately, Its 770 thousand polys which is about half that of the F14 so far
  4. nullEngine rivets WIP, finally making some progress on fasteners, Note this is without most of the dirt and stress layers showing so I can see what I'm doingnull
  5. We may already have it but it wouldn't hurt to have it twice! Hopefully, it will get added. Its also missing the flak towers in berlin
  6. Working on the engines now, rivets overlayed here will definitely save some time getting alignments correctly put in.The panel lines in the model had to be slightly refined to match the blueprints, but should now be accuratenull null
  7. Perfect! Have some screenshots for your trouble.
  8. This exactly. Hopefully they have the feature where if the mission is set in the 1940s the lights on the ground turn off...
  9. Its been too long since I posted in here, Finishing up my dissertation for uni in the next few weeks then will be working a whole lot more on the mod. I don't think I've managed to touch anything lancaster related this side of the new year but looking forwards to getting back to it and getting the much awaited turret video made! Let me know if you can see the images above aswell!
  10. VIAF flight can be found at this link here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2322197995?t=03h29m33s Will be displaying the lanc for a quick solo on the 22nd (tomorrow) at 14:15 CST (20:15 UTC) if you should happen to be about on the Virtual Snowbirds youtube channel https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ky2KuqtVHAS6Uu1qcsuYmGwyrJe0bom3MbTS_UqYLfw/edit?gid=0#gid=0 The ending should be worth watching In other news, some work on the pilot model textures
  11. Ive been busy busy with my uni stuff and haven't had a chance to sit down with the lanc for a long while now, hoping to get some done over the Christmas break but I've got all sorts of coursework and exams going on, Loki has been travelling and has had his house flooded aswell so not much from him either. @BrianTheBrain is still working on his witchcraft that I wont pretend I know but I believe he's about in this thread to explain. Ill upload a old screenshot for now, My BBMF group are performing on the 8th of December at VIAF and another unannounced airshow later in December should that be your thing aswell null
  12. A small frustration, The landing gear on our current model is vertically down when the aircraft is in level flight when in actuality it should sit at a 8-degree angle so that it is parrel to the ground. Will have to re animate the whole gear leg retraction which is quite the process given that its done with IK constraints. For those unfamiliar, 3ds allows us to solve the gear leg animation with a set of parent bones which is all well and good until you get to the part where DCS doesnt support it. Essentially you have to go through every keyframe and align another set of bones to the animated ones which is just time-consuming. We then have to go through this process for both of the hydraulic rams for the gear aswell. Progress is going well, need to do some more riveting and panelling then its just flaps and turrets to finish null
  13. Landing gear initial textures
  14. We have a few real missions already but the historical accuracy is limited by the range we have so we are relatively limited to Normandy preparations and raids around Paris launched from non lancaster airfields. I also did a startup and takeoff mission with the clickable promps and all the triggers but it probably needs some tidying with the new switches and systems added. One of the missions I have done so far is the raid on the wizern V2 plant, I would do custom assets but its pitch black nighttime raids from 20,000ft so there's little point for that one atleast. Chuck has said he is more than happy to help us out with a manual when we release We have quite a few pilots and engineers floating around our discord from nx611, pa474 and fm213 aswell as other museums with Lancaster bits. Ive spoken to PA474s pilots a number of times to get bits about how it flies and we have engine runs from in the cockpit from multiple lancasters nullone for good luck
  15. Some cinematic bits that I might aswell post here
  16. Thanks for giving me and loki more work no but seriously it should be possible but where would be literally no documentation on how it worked Ok so as far as I know this was a huge fuel tank for the far east campaign, I think there was more than one aircraft equipt like this and I believe that they experimented with air to air refueling but I'm not sure if it was this configuration with the fuel tank on top, not a very pretty varient. It looks like the super guppy but they forgot the back half and that the Lancaster looked pretty before it was assulted
  17. nulla first proof of concept for wing damage visuals, just figured out how to do this
  18. Lower ID lights installed
  19. 36,000+ on just the fuselage alone so far in my photoshop file Ive only just notice the missing glass in the left windows, eh look at the rivets instead
