  1. Did you try installing the Canadian Skins and then the Slovak Skin? The Slovak skin uses a custom db_countries file which would overwrite the game one, and the Canadian Skins would not work. Also, which version of MODMAN are you using? It need to be 7.1 or later for the Canadian Skins to work. If you uninstall the Slovak Skin, then install the Canadian Skins they should be selectable as a Russian skins in the ME. The issue with the Slovak skin is the only way to add a KA-50 to another country (that wouldn't normally have it) is to use a custom db_countries file, which ruins all other skins which use the normal one. I'm not sure, you might be able to install the Slovak skin first, then the Canadian skins after.
  2. Hmm. Do you see the 4 seperate skins in the MOD list? What country are looking for them in? They will install to Russia.
  3. Skypat, the Canadian Skin pack should not overwrite anything. They should just be standard MODMAN skins.....(V1.4 was updated to be compliant with MODMAN 7.1 and newer) However, MODMAN should not 'see' Canadian_SkinsV1.4 in the list, you need to extract the seperate skin rars and install them individually (there should be 4, one for each skin)
  4. No Problem. I don't think theres anyone here who thinks the convoluted method required to add skins is easy :)
  5. Very nice. Not only does there seem to be alot of Canucks here, it seems that BC is the prime location :)
  6. can you paste your ka-50.skins file here?
  7. If you put your bmp files in the temptexture directory how does it look? (this will bypass the cdds file altogether to rulo it out)
  8. Since this has been resurrected, I will be posting a revised tutorial (V1.1) this weekend. It will include the following changes/additions: -Fixes a couple of typos -Adds information for the multiple skin files for correct damage textures -Adds additional photos to assist with color schemes (courtesy of MadTommy) -Adds example files (embedded files for skin.lma7, modified db_countries, etc) -Amplifies section on adding KA-50 to other countries -Cleaning up some of the formatting and examples to make them easier to follow
  9. And the same for L1, L3 L9 and L10 (should all be test instead of paint) The way the skin files work, you have the same file called multiple times for different areas. You renamed the main ones, but missed the others and left them as a default. (which apparently doesn't exist, hence why you're missing parts)
  10. Change your line 11 to your test file name
  11. It looks like you may have left some layers turned off when you saved your files as bmp's. When you open your bmp's can you see the tires for example? (paint5)
  12. Heiliger, I'm not sure what the problem is offhand, but looking at your screenshot it looks like you missed something when you extracted the bitmap. I'll take a look at it tonight. SSneg, I believe the Checksix forum has it posted as well. http://www.checksix-fr.com/ The sites in french but is it avail there as well.
  13. Mad Tommy, great job. Do you have any problems if I use some of those pics in my updated skin tutorial? I think it would really help people visual what lines up where.
  14. Sharkster, the issue is the game scenario uses the numbers, they are not actually part of the skin.
  15. Crazy, Regarding the Number22/23.tga files. If you want to include custom numbers with your skin, you'll need to edit the tga file, then save it under a custom name. IE Number_Crazy Then make sure your lma7 file has whatever name you used in place of the 22/23 Then you have two options for where you put it. You can use MODMAN to just add the TGA file to the Temptextures directory or you can include the file in the .cdds (They say you are not suppose to put mulitple formats in the cdds but I haven't had any issue yet) I'll have to ammplify this in my version 1.1 tutorial.
  16. Short Answer....you don't. Long Answer....the bmp is located in the WorldTexturesBMP3.bmp. While it is possible to change it, it will change it for ALL KA-50 skins, including the defaults. Really sucks as I would love to change it for specific skins.
  17. I have the file already done. I'm just waiting for some info from Skypat for the best way to package it with MODMAN. Right now, it installs fine, but as soon as you install a skin it shows up as uninstalled. (its not, its just a glitch that I haven't solved at the moment)
  18. Just as an example. I just dl'd and tried you first skin. On a clean install with your skin installed and using the latest MODMAN the game won't even start, crashes with an error in the db_countries.lua. If I try it using a modified db_countries that has the KA-50 added to all countries, it works fine. I'm actually working on an updated tutorial, but I don't want to put it out before I get this issue worked out.
  19. And it worked? The issue I've found is that just changing the country code doesn't work (for me at least) because there is no KA-50 for Canada. I can make it work by manually adding the KA-50 to Canada, but using the default db_countries hasn't worked so far..... I'll have to try it again. Skypat may have made some more changes with the latest edition.
  20. Nice skin. Curious, how are you using MODMAN to make it selectable as a Canadian Skin?
  21. That is the right one, you just need to turn off the color scheme layers.
  22. Okay, when I install the db_countries 'mod' no problem. When I then go to install a skin, the skin installs, it uses the 'mod' db_countries, but the list of mods shows the db_countries mod as uninstall?? If all I want to do is use MODMAN to insert a custom file and use that as it's default, what mod type should I be selecting?
  23. Okay Skypat, another question for ya. What I'd like to do is use MODMAN to install a custom db_countries file. (adding the KA-50 to all countries) I've tried creating a MODMAN file that just adds the custom db_countries, but whenever I go to add a skin after, it doesn't use the custom db_countries installed, but uses the original (from the back up I presume) Is there any way around this? I'd like to be able put it up as a MOD, obviously it would need to be installed first (before any skins) but after it's installed it wouldn't make any difference. I'd then be able to have my skins come from their respective countries. The only way it works now is to uninstall all MODS, manually replace the db_countries with my modified one and carry on. This isn't a problem for me or many others, but there's many people that might mistakenly make a mistake or mix up a file, hence the wish to go through MODMAN for everything.
