What's being fixed in the upcoming patch?
815TooCooL replied to Nate--IRL--'s topic in Bugs and Problems
Is sound bug being addressed? You know, go to outside view and back then engine sound be quiet, and Esc and back, engine sound becomes loud, then if I rearm and take off, it now almost goes out even if I Esc and back. -

Flight Director Mode, why it is not used in real?
815TooCooL replied to 815TooCooL's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
So, FD mode off for almost every flying is realistic way, am I understainding it right? Even in specific job like ground strafing etc? -
I read that real Ka-50 pilots rarely use FD mode. What was the goal of FD mode & why it is not being used that much in real? I know what is FD mode but didn't fly that much in FD mode and I'm in holiday vacation so I can't fly Ka-50. It stabilize attitude of helo so it's good in rocket strafing etc, right? Dang, I really wanna play this sim again!:D At least I can look for manual, training videos & producer's notes. There was nothing enough about FD mode.

Quad Core vs Dual Core. Which performs better in BS?
815TooCooL replied to 815TooCooL's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Finally, kind of an answer what I was looking for!! Thank you, cucu666. Oh, I don't like Call of duty. :) I keep coming back to flight simulation. -
Quad Core vs Dual Core. Which performs better in BS?
815TooCooL replied to 815TooCooL's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
No tweaks needed. Only you need is just turning off the UAC. All other gimmicks do not affect game performance that much in recent systems. -
How should I go about setting up my force feedback?
815TooCooL replied to Gunrun's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Go to FF tune -> Swap axes It works in MSFFB2. They say it's pecularity of device. -
FFB2 rulz. Pity there's no more.

You can see them all in ABRIS map. All contour lines, power lines, and town names etc. Detection range is bonus. You just need to look zoomed in. Then it becomes very detailed. Study ABRIS. All things are there. With ERBL, you can designate any place on the map, not just your position.

Quad Core vs Dual Core. Which performs better in BS?
815TooCooL replied to 815TooCooL's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I'm a PC and I even like Vista now thanks to BS. Oh, I'm serious. :D -
BS : best multi-core support game of the year. (Note: NOT intended by devs.) Devs, did you think it was ok? It runs just horrible without affinity trick. But it runs so silky with affinity trick and I'm so satisfied with the game so don't bother. :D It is BEST flight sim, ever. No more IL-2, no more flight simulator. Thank you devs. Anyhow, let me ask you a question. Someone said his quad core gets 60~130 fps with affinity trick, whoa. When he didn't do affinity trick, it was at 15~30 fps in ground. Usually, we dual-core users got similar on-the-ground-fps, 15~30 fps. And it jumps up to 40~60(vsync considered, actual fps definitely not going over 60) when affinity check is turned on then it runs like baby. No more trackir choppiness. Looking at quad-core user's comment, it seems BS benefits from quad-core so the frame rate goes up, say, 50% better than dual-core. I'm considering quad-core CPU from current E8500 dual core. I'm at 3.16 ghz but if i go quad it becomes 2.8ghz or so, less core speed. Can BS benefit from even 4 cores? it just seems to me that it's about core numbers, not core speed. Additional core effect was so dramatic that it still tempts me to add more cores. Really wonder how BS would look like with Core i7. I just hope devs don't mess up affinity effect with upcoming patch. :D

Have you ever seen detailed additional info section arrow just above briefing screen? With waypoints, enlarged map and hand-drawn marks. They even provide actual views from ingress point to target. What kind of sim gave this level of info? And you can see F10 screen also thou I don't need it.

Dynamic Campaign cannot give us dynamic experience like in well-designed script campaign. Good dynamic campaign is vaporware like good artificial intelligence. So sterile and boring and cannot be achieved in current or near-future technology. So someone think F4 campaign is good? oh my.. After long experience in there.. it was meaningless repetition. I just hope ED and talented users can provide good campaigns constantly, Although I'm just at mission No.3 in first campaign. :D

Hey, what number of framerate do you get with that Ghz?? I'm in e8500 with normal clock and I really dislike overclocking headache but BS made me to think about it seriously.

You'll never regret. Buy a rudder pedals asap. It's a must in helo sim. I recommend Saitek Pro Flight Rudder. I already donated a CH rudder last christmas so no for you. :D

Manual with english cockpit switch names?
815TooCooL replied to Dropbear's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
+1. Back and forth.. Back and forth.. To read it properly, I open two manuals and cross-check them. One for text, one for picture or cyrilic. It's a kind of studying and it's fun to me now but many users will give it up and I was also frustrated. -
Yep. It will fix exactly that error.
-
I read that but it was a little vague and it said 'Invert axes', which is was far from FF tune in Control option. So that cost me some of us a few hours. You can see that in many threads. I mildly ask you to correct it as 'Swap Axes' in 'FF tune'.

Solved the problem. Check thread. :music_whistling: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35494

MS FFB2 trim setting, resolved. What a great forcefeedback support! 2 images tell you everything. First, choose FF Tune Second, Don't forget to check Swap Axes. S W A P A X E S I don't know why it works like this but ED made it this way. Grrr.. I struggled for 2 hours!!! :D Numbers doesn't mattter. It's all your preference for strength. Then surprisingly, and as I(we all, without complicated hassle) expected, if I move stick to desired position to maintain attitude of Ka-50 and press the damn Trim key for a moment and release, voila!, the FFB stick stay at that position and sit there on its own. And the Ka-50 is unbelievably become stable and I can do my full-switch-job around the cockpit, :book: reading manual Ok. move the stick a little right and forward so I need to change attitude, and press the trim key and release.. and it stay that way, woohoo. Of course, as soon as you press 'release trim' key, the FFB stick quickly comes to neutral position. All the position of the real stick perfectly matches in-game cyclic stick. This is what I 've imagined for best helicopter sim FFB support but even I didn't expect it was possible. Nice job ED. Thanks for your wonderful FFB support. It doesn't even go slack by Alt-Tab like IL-2. I've collected four(and one gone) MSFFB2 stick and I don't regret any more. Of course, with CH full hotas setup and Control Manager programming, you can do this kind of job with beautiful script codes. But putting your stick where it really is like real Ka-50 is a whole new experience.

Like this. You can find it here. http://www.majorgeeks.com/WinLauncherXP_d870.html Some IL-2 guys(like me) usaully launch program from it and use core 2 exclusively since IL-2 doesn't have advantage using Dual cores. So, if BS benefit by Vista affinity trick, I think WinLauncherXP could do the trick in similar way by checking core1 and 2. I hope someone tried this setup and if there's no one, someone might try it. It does no harm. :D

Title says it all. In IL-2, when you go desktop and back, FFB2 become slack cause it lose focus(I think) or for some reason. So in BS, likewise, I presume that it will also go slack when you set affinity and back to cockpit. If this is not the case, I think I could migrate to Vista. And one more thing, does BS support FFB very well like IL-2??
