  1. Better performance here, BUT.. if I turn on the floodlights it's stuttering (Mirage).
  2. Not all bindings, but some things are acting weird. Whenever I use 'JOY_BTN_POV1_L' button (MAGIC SELECT) (the big grey one on the TM stick) it's entering NVG/visor mode. Gun-Arm binding on stick does nothing, I have to touch/click it one time with the mouse en then the bind on stick is working again.
  3. Yep! This was my budget limit :) Looking forward to Vulkan's preformance!
  4. Sounds logic, it's either 45+ASW or 90FPS. Looks like ASW kickin is pretty abrupt, it stutters heavy then smooth in ASW. So it's just that switching moment of ASW. When I compare it to my 1080TI you can see that ASW is always on a little bit (like Toutenglisse said), that makes it a little bit more blurry. So that explains alot. I tried all the setting combination with Steam but no bueno, lowering my settings is not what I had in mind with this card. So the card is powerfull enough to produce 90FPS but not powerfull enough to keep 90fps in DCS. Not realy what I expected, so i'm returning the card and keeping my watercooled 1080ti. Thanks for the help guys.
  5. Thanks for the reply Jumbik, It happens when looking down at the trees, because thats the moment when it needs more power. Still weird that I never see any power limit with my 1080TI. GPU-Z says the Perf reason = PWR (alot!) I have locked the CPU speed, no throttling. When resetting mainboard BIOS to defaults the issue still remains. I forgot to mention; this is happening in VR with the HTC Vive (so no Vsync), ASW kicks in when the framerate drops. I've done some googling on this and it looks like more and more people are beginning to notice the power limit as problem. Maybe thats the reason why some cards have higher watt ratings, mine is 260watt (2x8 pci-e power) and some cards up to 370watt (2x8 + 1x6 pci-e power). Can you explain why an FPS limiter would help? Thanks!
  6. I've installed the RTX 2080 TI coming from a GTX1080TI and the new card is going realy smooth on same settings that I used on the 1080TI but then it drops frames and you're starting to see stutters. (see attachment) The reason it drops is because it hits the power limit all the time, my overclocked 1080TI never reaches the power limit. Bad RTX card design? I've opened a ticket at MSI: I have the MSI RTX 2080 Ti VENTUS 11G OC, and it's constantly hitting the power limit as you can see in the attachment. Framerate drops significally when the power limit is reached, resulting in short heavy stutters. Setting power limit to max (111%) MSI Afterburner has no impact. Problem is both present on Win7 and Win10. Is this maybe fixable by a new bios with higher power limit? MSI answer: This is the BIOS setting of the video card, the power can only reach the current height. The power limit is designed according to the graphics card performance and safety. For your graphics card, we do not suggest to increase the power limit reluctantly, for this may cause the damage to the hardware of your card and decrease the service life. Anyone else having this problem with stutters when it hits the power limit? Thnx!
  7. Is this mod still working after the new OB update? just checking.. :)
  8. Tried MSAA x2 + SSAA x2 in VR, but didn't noticed any difference. I thought this SSAA thing wasn't working for VR ...?
  9. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215373
  10. Yep, after copying back the original glass.hlsl it worked, HUGE boost! Thnx!
  11. Wow! look at that, amazing! there is hope for VR! Unfortunately it did not work for me with the Mirage in the Gulf map. I get an error with the option to retry or cancel the glass shader... no bueno. But still great work! Is it possible to have some of the optimizations without the glass shader thing?
  12. Same here in VR, especially at the coast I see these flashes.
  13. Yep, something changed. I also noticed that the metashaders2 stays empty since the 2.5.2 update. Has something changed in how DCS is loading these shaders now?
  14. +1 Same here with the 8700k, looks like the last core is doing most of the work...
  15. Yes we do need more graphical power for VR to make it realy flawless, also i've read/seen alot about how newer generation processors (7700k/8700k) make fps drops less and therefore better sustained fps. Would be great to hear about how people experienced DCS performance after upgrading to a newer gen processor like for example; from 2600k to 6700k/7700k/8700k. How do you guys think about this?
  16. About that new SSAA... In VR everything gets enlarged, not an option for VR?
  17. Again, thanks for the help! I realy appreciate it! :) I overclocked the 2600k to 4.2ghz, no difference at all, not even a minor change in fps. Still stuck on VR preset with preload-dist/trees dialed back, PD 1.0... Can't go higher or it stutters. It's realy looking like a DCS performance issue....
  18. Whoaaa... those GPU lines look alot more stable/higher. It's time to upgrade! :) Current system is still on the old Sandy-bridge, running the 2600k on stock 3.4Ghz. I'm now looking for a 7700k DDR4 system with NVME SSD. Thanks for the help!
  19. Thanks, I checked and did some short testing.. this is how things look like when flying: Some CPU data while flying (HyperThreading OFF): Time to upgrade ?:unsure:
  20. I've wasted more time on messing with graph settings in 2.5/2.5.2 then flying with the HTC Vive. Bought an 1080ti, on VR preset I still got stutters (PD 1.0). (Empty missions) Reinstalled windows, did all the tips&trick found on this forum... nothing helps. DCS is the only thing that my computer doesn't run smooth  Asus Maximus Formula V, i7-2600k, 16gb DDR3 1866mhz, Samsung 840 EVO SSD, Gigabyte GTX 1080TI, HTC VIVE, Windows 7 Ultimate
  21. Weird thing; when I run on the VR preset everything is smooth. But when I change shadows from medium to flat... I got stutters, lower framerates. I thougt that shadows on flat was less demanding. Overal poor VR performance for my rig that runs great without issues. Asus Maximus Formula V, i7-2600k, 16gb DDR3 1866mhz, Samsung 840 EVO SSD, Gigabyte GTX 1080TI, HTC VIVE, Windows 7 Ultimate On VR preset I can not adjust PD higher than 1.2 or it will stutter even more.. With these settings I can not feel/see any difference between 2.5 and 2.5.1 Tested on empty mission with M2000 @Caucasus.
