TM Warthog HOTAS & MFD Mapping
einar-st replied to blaster454's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If you can afford the Warthog HOTAS one would think you'd afford some kind of rudder pedals too. -
But then when it all starts coming together, it's a frakkin' treat.
-
And this is even after he goes around trashing the sim on its own forums. Hardly the best way to ask for help or hints...
-
Are you serious?... imho Black Shark is about the only thing keeping the sim industry alive at this point (Falcon 4.0 is getting old). I curse each day about the fact that Black Shark is the only relevant study sim at this time. Soon we'll have A-10C too, though! :) I love Black Shark for all its worth, and personlly feel the flight model is just about perfect.

VERGEEV Group campaign RELEASED!
einar-st replied to FGSchtuzer's topic in User Created Missions General
You're talking about Leading Edge Training (http://leadingedgetraining.us/) which I would gladly pay for per lesson if they got anywhere, but it seems as though it's on ice for the moment. Only the first free lesson has been released. I too believe that 4$ is an okay price if it's a quality product, and if I had finished the campaigns already in the game I'd probably buy it. If you disagree with it being a sellable product, that's okay because purchase is your choice. :) My two cents. -
Great! Can't wait for Project 10 and the release of the game itself :D
-
Hehe.. they do mention in the beginning of the mission that they didn't have time to refuel the bird, but did get you a pair of extra external fuel tanks.

Override grapics card question and Shkval
einar-st replied to shea1980's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Which is why you should do the boresight-ranging right before you start shooting :). -

If can easily see the pipper being adjusted so you'd have to point the aircraft differently to hit. Seems logical to me. Here's the quote from the manual: -

einar-st replied to shea1980's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Actually, I just did a test-run and the rockets hit where the pipper was when launching the rockets, not where the target was during impact, even though it states in the manual that the targeting system should calculate lead when pushing that button. The cannon performed as expected and tore that danish hummer to bits. The rocket selector switch was at the correct setting, so I guess it's just not simulated as of now? -

It helps vikhr, cannon and rockets calculate for movement... very effective for cannon atleast. -
Poor guy.. lol

Hello guys... I made a video of me completing my first mission. I usually just fly around blowing up parked vehicles, but I thought I'd try an easy mission this time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wN7JPBXaDI Remember to watch in the highest quality, which is 480p on this one. And I'm also sorry for extremely dark colors. It wasn't this dark in the video editing software. Cheers:pilotfly:

Hi... I just made this short video. I went overboard with the contrast/brightness-settings... so sorry about that. :pilotfly:
-
Hi guys.. this is a short video inspired by some real life SU-25 clips ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hY07OVO6N4 ) on youtube. Here's the link: Please watch in 720p fullscreen. I do want to make a longer video with a storyline and some voiceovers maybe, however I can't seem to get this finger out of my ***.

Hi... I love making videos... haven't played Black Shark for a long time, but I'm changing that now :). This video was just a Fraps test, and seeing how a rendered video might look. I get alot of stutters and second-long(ish) hangups, but I think disabling the sound in Fraps will fix most of it. I didn't use any sound here anyways. Hopefully more will come, but I'm pretty lazy. I hope to see more from everyone else too, because it's pretty quiet with regards to videos these days. :joystick:

Hi, thanks for responding. But what I mean by camera views is for example the external views. Pivoting around the helicopter is one example, where the further you push your joystick the faster it would pivot. My purpose is for when making a video and running a track, I'd have more accurate and satisfactory camera-movement with the joystick than with the mouse.

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes my question. Does anyone know why it's not possible to assign joystick axis to camera view actions? (for optimal accuracy when making videos etc) Maybe it IS possible somehow? Hope someone can shed some light on this. :) Thanks

Hi guys... I've setup dual screen with camera on the left side and ABRIS, Shkval on the right side. I've got the ABRIS using the entire height and half the length of the monitor, but the Shkval is half of both the length and height to keep a somewhat realistic aspect ratio on them. So I was wondering what to do with the empty space on the monitor. Any way to get a solid color there or something? Also I was wondering what the actual aspect ratios of both the Abris and Shkval are. -- Thanks

Goofy things to try in DCS! *minor spoiler alert*
einar-st replied to Yskonyn's topic in Screenshots and Videos
I thought that was the problem and therefore what's being fixed. -
POLL: English or Russian cockpit labels
einar-st replied to einar-st's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Yea, definately good that there's a choice. Also please don't confuse me with the fingerpointers... hehe... I just feel that for me there's an autenticity(I'm starting to feel like an ass every time I say this word) issue. If there was a russian radio-comms option I'd love to use it (with subtitles). As it is now I'll have to download russian audio files? Haven't really looked to much into it. -

It's about being in a cockpit that is as close to the real one as possible. More authenticity than realism in a traditional sense. -
POLL: English or Russian cockpit labels
einar-st replied to einar-st's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I forgot to say what I use, but I agree with you :). Russian makes more sense to me. -
With the ongoing russian-labels-in-the-cockpit-photos discussion, I got a bit curious as to what cockpit you all fly in. :joystick: EDIT: This is of course for the people with the english version.

Russian cockpit images used in English printed manual
einar-st replied to MadTommy's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Come on... frankly if the russian images in the manual is severely hindering your learning process, I would guess you're playing the wrong game. And as people have said, it would be just as unfair to have english cockpit images to the people who play with the russian cockpit.
