Changing heading like that with Heading Hold on will cause your rudder input to fight the aircraft's tendancy to turn to the old heading. So when you trim your the rudder trim won't be centered (or the same value as before the turn). At the moment I disable heading hold before a turn and enable when I'm heading in the desired direction. This will automatically set the new heading to heading hold. If you're aiming to keep speed and pitch-setting there is no real need for immediate retrim either. If anyone from ED or anyone else knows of a better or "more correct" way to change heading, I'm all ears.

DCS: A-10C: Satellite guided JDAM's?

Rate of fire is one difference :D -
There are two desktop icons made after installation.. one for Singleplayer and one for Multiplayer... I assume you're using the wrong one.

My tip is to set the burst-length to medium... which fires 5 rockets from each pod at a time. This depletes the rockets pretty quickly (4 salvos if you have two S-8 pods), but your chances of hitting increases alot. And also remember the laser rangefinder as mentioned.

I'd just like to post my opinion and say that I like steam and have bought many games on/with it. And I also enjoy the opportunity of calling my flatmate a hobo each time he joins an online server. No problems whatsoever. That being said, I also have no problems with buying games outside steam and no problems with starforce. I bought the english Black Shark with no hesitation or thought and I thoroughly enjoy playing it each and every day :)... I'm a happy camper. Kisses, hugs and flowers!

Hi.. I've been using the X45, but on a whim I ordered the X52 Pro because I feel the cyclic is a bit sticky and... I don't know... not very smooth. Anyways, one of the things I kinda liked about the X45 was the rudder controls. With the right curves settings I managed to get it just right. The thing I'm wondering is how the twist-rudder action of the X52 Pro compares. I'll probably end up buying pedals, but I just can't seem to justify it quite yet. Will I end up looking like Bambi on ice (in air), or will the twist-rudder suffice for now? Are there anyone using the twist instead of pedals?

vimeo.com has full 720p HD capabilities.

Hi... I use the X45 and have a profile set up. It's kind of temporary and I add/change stuff all the time when I feel I need to. Most of the combat-stuff is at Mode2. Mode3 is just a backup of Mode2. I would however advice you to either make your own or follow Slayer's advice. I didn't know you could use X52 profiles. If you'd like to use my profile as a starting-point however, you can download it here: http://www.tusj.net/stasj/blackshark.pr0 On to another issue, is the X52(Pro) a good improvement of the X45 in terms of feel? I'm not completely satisified with how the cyclic stick feels. Did you notice any improvement, Slayer?

Yeah... and if you need to be in a kind off hover, a manual hover with a good trim is just as good. Less to think about and less to forget about when you need to keep moving.
-
It's pretty natural that it would turn on seeing as hovering is beeing suspended in the air. ALT HOLD keeps the Y axis in check. The reason it's on afterwards is a safety feature if I had to guess. In any case you're not doing anything wrong. That's just how it is.

Map it to your HOTAS and it quickly becomes second nature. :)... Handy indeed.

I knew about the key-command, but now I can have him there by default. Thanks! :)

Hello again guys. Just wanted to thank you all for the comments and for viewing my vid. Rest assured I will be making more, and so should the rest of you :). I love watching gameplay videos.. and I only wish new video-threads will become more frequent. So again; thank you. And lets all make more videos!! :D

It's actually the trim button, not the reset trim button. And the way I do it; I press and release the trim button and center the joystick and rudder instantly afterwards (I think it gives you about half a sec or something to do this).

This is a tale about poor Igor who just wanted a nice, sunday morning ride in his army truck. It's totally weird, so sorry about that. I just had to make a video.. any video... been itching since Black Shark came out. Remember to watch in High Quality. Please excuse the takeoff... the pilot was drunk (not really). Oh btw... I just picked up my TrackIR at the post-office... going to test it now!! :pilotfly:

What kind of aircraft do you wan't to see next?
einar-st replied to d0ppler's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
What about tanks?... :D Just kidding.. but what I'd like is more attack helicopters really. They're just so much fun. -
Wouldn't mind flying around in a beautiful, slim, super-sexy Super Cobra... and blowing stuff up.

Auto-hover disables bank and pitch channels

That did the trick... can't believe I forgot about the generators in my start-up routine all this time. Thanks, man. -
Auto-hover disables bank and pitch channels

Here's a track-file. Doesn't look like the targeting and navigation system switch had any effect. autohovercrash.trk -
Hi guys! When I saw that the game had been released I jumped all over the purchase button, and so far I'm loving it. :joystick: As part of my learning process I've decided to practice cold starts with only the bare minimums of systems enabled and adding more as I learn more about what they are and what they do. There's just so much stuff!!.. I'd like to know what I'm doing rather then just go on a wild clicking-spree. So far I've been doing pretty well with reasonably controlled hovers and general flight, considering the fact that I'm using the Xbox 360 gamepad controller . One thing I'm wondering about though is why my auto-hover seems to disable the autopilot bank and pitch channels. I guess there's probably a switch/system which needs to be turned on or something like that. This happens when powering up the the engines like normal and flicking INU Power Switch, Navigation System Power, bank and pitch holds, RALT altitude hold mode. Does anyone have an idea of what may cause this? I'm kinda new to this super-realistic simulator-thing so please excuse me if it's a stupid question. EDIT: Forgot to mention that it autohover works like it's supposed to when I "start from runway" with engines and all usual systems on.
