  1. For me the RAT is not really an issue. But ... when Ralfidude flamed out in the Tomcat and lost electrical power, I couldn't help but think: "Pull out the RAT, pull out the RAT!!!" He didn't though, and crashed, so I guess the RAT has its uses ... ;)
  2. Apparently they changed the text of the newsletter, it does not mention the hotfix anymore.
  3. Fortunately, everyone will be very cool about it ... :megalol:
  4. Not sure, I was thinking about the target ring indicator that is displayed if you have a target waypoint. But I realize now that CCIP mode is in NAV mode and the TIR is not displayed. Still a target waypoint is not required for CCIP, the manual says: This is on page 301 of RC1. It does not say a target waypoint is forbidden though.
  5. A, I see what you mean. Is this something that is actually implemented in the Hornet? I mean, with the radar in surface mode it is processing surface clutter returns, but in air to air? In that case it is rejecting clutter returns around Doppler zero. So to get a warning it would also have to process these (with associated required processing power). I'm not saying it can't be done, but do you know if it is an actual feature?
  6. You mean the radar altimeter? The radar in the nose of the plane is unrelated to the radar altimeter.
  7. Is that a bug or a feature? In both cases it is good to be aware of this!
  8. Thanks for the suggestion. It does not work if you have no waypoints and group to attack pre-configured. Using Engage - Ships does work, but they go after the group of ship they think has the highest priority. So I have resorted to using Lua scripting using MOOSE. I've got something working now: an extra radio command that tells the wingmen to go after the group nearest to Bx8. The Wingmen have the "RB-15F for AI". Still it would be nice if the wingmen receive the plan derived from the mark points out of the box.
  9. Actually that sounds quite reasonable. I mean if you keep the stick deflected you are basically fighting the autopilot. Also, 10-15 seconds is not so bad, isn't it?
  10. :worthy: Btw, how slow is slow, minutes?
  11. Sorry, missed that bit. In that case it would make sense.
  12. Because leveling the plane changes your attitude. First the manual says: Ok, pitch is always maintained, roll angle is maintained conditionally. Then it says: So, now pitch angle is not maintained? So to hold pitch you have to bank more than 7o? This is where it stops making sense to me. Attitude hold should, well, hold the attitude.
  13. I suspect the manual is wrong. I mean, levelling the plane and returning to course does not make sense in ATT. In HOJD it holds altitude, so levelling makes sense there (does it also return to course in that case?).
  14. Does anyone know how to get your wingmen to attack the target? I've placed Bx7 and Bx8 points for the RB-15F missiles, but the wingmen won't attack the ships. I've tried using the "engage - mission and rejoin" radio command, but this leads to the wingmen rejoining immediately (i.e. there is no mission).
  15. Did you set the skill of the pilot to "player"?
  16. Really? Afaik the altimeter always shows barometric altitude. The hud is a different story though.
  17. Could it be a feature? Both gauges use different sensors, they could, at that altitude, show different readings. This could be modelled, but I do not know if it is in fact so in the Viggen module. And even if it is modelled, is the difference representative?
  18. Did you try a repair? Also, disable mods if you have any.
  19. Aren't you supposed to tune them both to zero meters when on the ground? Did you do that?
  20. The manual does not state that you have press trim in the opposite direction twice in a short interval or does it? Just press it twice slowly and it works.
  21. Thanks for the tip, but the pedals are asymmetric, placed at different angles and with different resistance. It will probably be very uncomfortable. I did use them as brakes once.
  22. Thanks very much for the help! I never would have figured this out. Lets hope that this will be fixed in Moose soon.
  23. I very vaguely remember this training video, didn't the instructor mention something about the trees?
  24. Ok, thanks for the answer! I guess there is only one way to find out: :joystick:
  25. Awesome video! I do not have rudder pedals, nor do I have space for them below the desk (it is currently being occupied by my sons racing gear). So do you think the tomcat will by flyable using a twist stick, or do I need to have a talk with my son? :D
