  1. Yes, that is modelled. Under any type of hardened shelter will prevent GPS signal from being captured. Best practice is to taxi out and wait. Easy way to know if you have GPS signal is to go to the TIME (6) page and you should see GPS on the top line next to SYSTEM. If you dont see GPS then you dont have the signal captured from the satellite.
  2. Make sure you go to the DLNK page on the DED and verify it says FINE and not COARSE. If it does turn it off then back on by pressing MSEL on the first setting. Also, if there is terrain between the bandits and the AWACS (due to them flying low) they probably won't show up. Also, if you can post a track so we can see exactly what is happenining that would be great.
  3. Well it says it right there "To be started from the Mission Editor". Those are official training missions from ED so that is why. You clearly downloaded a set of training missions from the user files and they can only be started from the Mission Editor as the mission creator stated. That isn't a bug or something you can fix.
  4. Has been like that since day one when the ATP dropped. You must always change it after the BIT is finished. That is how the ATP works.
  5. Can you post a track if possible in a singleplayer setting. I just did mission 6 in the Red Flag 21-1 and was able to LST just fine with the JTAC and sniper pod. Are you setting the correct code in the DED for the LST Code (different from the Laser Code)? I've also buddy lased with it as well no problem. So definitely a track will help to see if it is a pod issue or user issue.
  6. Im not at my pc rn but are you making sure to change the radio frequency for the wingman as well. If so it might be best to use an advanced waypoint option.
  7. What are the numbers? 5,0,0,2 then 4,0,2,2 like what is that?? not being mean just so confused by that. I get 2xext is two external tanks (I assume), but what are the other numbers???? Not really telling me exactly what your loadout is.
  8. Make sure you go into the CNTL page via OSB 5, then press FLIR CAL at OSB 9. You will/should notice a better clarity with the FLIR image. You need to do this periodically during flight. The calibration takes 30 seconds. I usually do it before takeoff, and prior to entering the AO. Also helps to adjust the image using BRT and CON rockers on the MFD. Another thing I do is, I use the MGC vs the AGC. I get a cleaner looking image. This is a topic that has been beaten to death in other forums. Simple answer is, the Litening will eventually be leaving the F16, most likely when the LANTIRN comes to it. The LANTIRN will have a worse image than the ATP, so be ready for that if you decide to use it. The Litening in DCS is also overperforming and causing a false reality of how good the ATP "should" look. When in reality the ATP has digital zoom modelled and imo looks pretty close to real life (some minor tweaking needed but pretty close). That is why XR mode helps a lot. It is not a magic piece of equipment. You have to tweak the image to get the desired clarity. As far as the warmup time for it, I hope it doesn't change. Because in the future we should see what is called "Scramble mode" where you can have the BIT run in the background while you are using it essentially. Allows the pilot to turn it on and quickly get in the air without having to wait for it. This is usually done in real-world combat situations where a full BIT was previously done, whereas any other time (which is pretty much just training sorties) they sit there for the full 12 minutes until it is done. As far as "IR+TV" to see through clouds, I think you misunderstand what TV mode does. In TV mode you have the ability to do a PIP (picture-in-picture, which TV can be disabled in the CNTL page). Probably best to read the manual a bit to better understand it (page 385-395). So in your screenshot, yes you are in TV but it is using FLIR as that is the primary sensor and if you were to press the EXP FOV on the SSC or OSB 3 you will then go into TV PIP which will provide a better magnified image especially at 4x zoom. As far as battery life on the munitions, that is something that is definitely modelled. You probably just never shot one of those munitions far enough to notice it. AIM-120s, AIM-9s, AIM-7s, and every AA missile has battery life that is very noticeable when the missiles miss and are at high altitude. Some munitions have batteries that last 90 seconds up to several minutes depending on the munition. But you can expect the battery to last for as long as it needs to to make a high Pk hit. Again, unless you are actively trying to shoot out of the range of the munition (which like the F16 AGM65s you cant fire until within range unless you are using AREA mode with the H/K variants) you aren't going to see the munition lose power.
  9. You got a screenshot? I don't see what you describe. Also a screenshot of your settings.
  10. This. I've been asking for this for ages now. Let me setup my own SMS page. It will be needed when and if they implement stores failures where reloaded the SMS page will be required. But If you have an AA loadout and want to use GM on the FCR just use it in NAV. AG mode requires an AG munition that can use a mode other than CCIP.
  11. From my earlier comments in this thread. The implementation of the CAT Switch is correct in terms of loadout configuration. ECM pods on the centerline is CAT I. They go CAT III when loaded onto the wing stations. Centerline tanks are also CAT I. However, if you do 3x tanks that is a CAT III. So for instance if you do 2x or 6x 9s and three tanks that is a CATIII configuration. But you will or should get a stores config caution with certain A2A loadouts as it is a reminder that if you shoot one off the rail on either side you are now asymetric which is a CAT III condition. The minute you throw 120s on then it will be CATIII since the 120s we have are the C5s. Also keep in mind that if you start with an A2A loadout and end up being asymetric later in the flight (i.e. 2x msls on left wing and 3x on the right or 1x and 3x) that is a CAT III condition. Just think of the STORES CONFIG light as a caution or advisory (hence it being on the Master Caution Light panel) to check your stores and ensure you are in the correct CAT. Just like in real life, it is the pilot's job to ensure he/she is in the correct CAT option as during flight your conditions can change. So know what is on your jet and you will be ok Anything on the Caution Light panel is a caution and requires your attention to check/verify something and not a warning which requires your immediate attention/action to fix/correct something or to land immediately. Warnings are what shows up on the left and right glare shields so they are right in your line of sight.
  12. Unsure. I doubt it though. Maybe someone is working on an updated one or maybe there is already one but I tried searching and had no luck in finding an updated one. But like Nythawk said you can always go into the jet's files and find the codes. If you want an updated kneeboard, might be best to make your own for now.
  13. It is also very old and has not been updated since the currenthill assets came into dcs officially.
  14. This is in relation to this. Reported internally and should be fixed soon. Hopefully.
  15. As a weapons troop who has worked on the F16 and the weapon systems on it to include the gun system which includes the gun gas purge door (name of that door) I can confirm it is incorrect and I have mentioned it years ago. It was fixed a while few years ago but appears to have made it back and not sure why. Once the jet is started the hydraulics kick in and move the control surfaces and close the gun gas purge door. The only time that door is suppose to open is when the gun is actually firing. Not before and not after but DURING the firing of the gun. I hope they fix it soonish.
