  1. There's a really obvious and simple answer to this... I can't believe no one's thought of this, I programmed it into my HOTAS assignments without even thinking about it. So, slew up is ";", and slew left is ",". So, to slew diagonally up-left, you simply press ";"+"," - It works the same as movement keys in any game. I suppose I'll post this in the other thread too now.
  2. I think he was referring to this one: I shat myself just watching that at the computer.
  3. This is actually a really good 3d product: http://www.iz3d.com/ Not perfect, but getting closer all the time. I'd say it's definately worth the money, if you have it.
  4. Actually, I meant for his profiles on avsim. *edit: Disregard, turned out to be a browser problem.
  5. I'm getting a page not found error. Can anyone mirror?
  6. Actually, it can. You might want to check the manual under "Automatic Ingress to Target Point", but I believe you just select your TP, autopilot heading switch to direct heading, auto turn to target, turn on route follow mode and you're good to go.
  7. What kind of fps do you get in combat though? I'm sure it plenty, but I'm just curious.
  8. This thread should win an award. I demand a sunburst defense system be implemented, as well as radio taunts such as: " you just blew up the mountain, boy", "land that thing while I'm still in the mood to let you", and of course "fly this, chicken hawk!"
  9. I thought this has been in since Lock On?
  10. *seething hatred...*
  11. Do you remember how bad reflections impacted performance in Lock On? Imagine if instead of using a simple image of the cockpit to simulate reflections, it also had to simulate refractions/diffractions through moving water on the glass. Maybe I'm wrong here as I'm not exactly a programmer, but it seems to me that it would be far more resource heavy than the current tech could handle. Regardless of whether or not they make use of DX10, I highly doubt XP users would be left in the dark. I've never seen a game that was only compatible with DX10. They might exist, but no independent developer serious about their product would do that: there's no reason for it other than increasing MS's revenue. And despite all these complaints about Vista's memory handling, I get consistently better fps than in XP. Before the hounds of XP hell are unleashed upon me, let me say that this is not directed at any of the above posters and I have absolutely no interest in starting another bible-sized OS debate; I'm just getting tired of all the XP 4 LIFE!!! dudes. Sure, it's a great OS, but it wasn't released like that. Vista had a rockier start than XP, but since I've installed it I've had very little to complain about, least of all performance. But that's just my very narrow experience and it might be the worse thing ever on every other computer than the ones I've used, however I somehow doubt that's the case. It seems to me that most of people's reluctance to switch over comes from either stubbornness, impatience or money. I completely sympathize with the latter, but to the others I say grow up.
  12. By Inverted, do you mean that it's actually positioned upside down somehow? I've never tried that, but I have found that positioning it up high and further back while tipping my hat up towards it provides a pretty good scanning volume.
  13. Brilliant, jetski had the answer. It was the external camera controls for me. So if I remap them without a modifier it won't be a problem? Feurerfalke: Yes, I have this issue as well, though it doesn't seem to be avoidable, at least not completely. Can anyone with a trackclip pro say whether or not it's any better at minimizing shakiness than the hat clips? It seems to me it would pretty much alleviate it, but I'm not ready to drop $40 on one without confirmation.
  14. First of all, you will have to excuse me if this has already been addressed; I searched through every page of this section for a thread on this issue, but it's also very late (or early, rather... damn you BS!) and I could have easily overlooked it. Anyway, whenever I use TrackIR 4 and click things within the cockpit, I get a horrible screen tremble effect. I'm pretty sure the screen is centering on where the mouse was before I clicked and then snapping back to the new location. It's very disorienting, really ruins the immersion factor ya know? So, am I really the only one that's having this issue? ...or does someone out there have a fix, perhaps?? :helpsmilie: S.O.S., Chiba
  15. YES! Genius! I saw Johnny Lee's video blog on this a while back and I've been racking my brain trying to think of a solution to use it in this way. Very nice idea with the LED switch, it's perfect! Thanks for sharing man. Good luck with the patent. I hope Mr. Lee sees some royalties from this though...
  16. This is the kind of thread I try to avoid, so I merely skimmed. I had high hopes for HAWX before any information was released on it. All we had were some unrealistic but intensely fun looking images, and I almost took the bait... But, if you haven't yet, take a look at some of the gameplay footage. It looks absolutely mind numbingly arcadified. It reminds me of Star Fox, but with the game mechanics holding your hand to the point where it's just plain boring and childish. Tom Clancy games are getting SOOO bad these days. And it really hurts my heart; I was a huge Rainbow Six fan until the third one came out on the Unreal engine. Bleh, I'm done. p.s. consolz suxxx!!!! lolo :o Oh, and the A-10's have afterburners coming out of the turbines too! Ridiculous much?
  17. The default bind for the FPS counter display and any other bind I set has no effect whatsoever. I have also tried using FRAPS and that only works in the GUI menu for some reason, it's really frustrating. I'm running it on Vista 32bit. I have XP, but I'd prefer to play it on Vista and I've had no other issues with the game. Can anyone help me?
