  1. Agreed, best way to increase FPS is upgrading to XP... i gained avarage +15fps ;) Other than that, you pretty much have to close down applications to free resources... turn down them eyecandy, as much as possible.. upgrade hardware :b
  2. Run dmc - It's like that ps. http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=KoQb8vb4blA lulz @ 1:23 whirlwind from diablo anyone? thats some serious moves towards the end, haha
  3. Works flawlessly with Firefox 3
  4. You also need to clear all joystick buttons from black shark, load that profile into saitek profiler, and activate it... Them profiles work by making your joystick actually send keyboard commands, so you could actually even write with your joystick when you have it loaded ;) Note: X-52's 3 modes only work when using profiler, otherwise it maked no difference if you have it on 1,2 or 3, so using SST profiler triples your buttons.
  5. Some "Training servers" would be neat idea where ppl know know stuff can teach ppl from ground up :) I might actually host one, share my limited knowledge, atleast i know the cold start and basic weapons employment ^^ If any newcomers are interested that is.
  6. http://www.shipsim.com/home.php No... just no... Anyone else have eny experiences? My limited experience... well... Simulation? Well ive been testing it for a while now... Ships are controlled only by arrow keys. You do have advanced commands like H for horn. Ships dont sink but read that a patch can fix it.. Only command deck is textured, rest of the ship is plain white and many "holes" so u fall thru floors etc.. Weather doesnt affect ship any other way than it moves up and down.. well..
  7. After you have your profile set up in your profiler, you select/activate your profile from that small saitek icon next to the clock ;)
  8. I could buy more copies of DCS and forward the serial key to whoever can paypal me the amount, but this kind of stuff should be done my a mod, or someone from ed, or something, as there obviously is trust issues involved, you know its internets and all.
  9. In case you run out of activations, you can mail them for more activations, so no worries. Wouldn't it be kinda odd if youd actually have to buy the game again after upgrading your computer for enough times? ;)
  10. Think you got the patch for disk version ;) You should patch for download version instead! They have different kind of exe/copy protection. http://lockon.co.uk/index.php?end_pos=135&scr=products&lang=en Patch 1.12b for "LockOn 1.1: Flaming Cliffs" simulator You may need a re-install after that wrong patch tho :(
  11. Well LO has propably more eye-candy, and is set on modern era, and quite casual friendly, nothing too complicated, engines start with 1 button, missiles lock with the second and fire with third :) If you are looking for indepth simulation with clickable cockpits etc, i'd recommend Black Shark for chopper, its much "complicated" and "hard" as in lots of buttons to press and steep learning curve! Or maybe Il-2 for WW2 era, don't know how it compares to FA tho. Your best bet for realistic approach on jets would be Falcon 4, but its getting quite old..

  14. OT: Ofp/Arma scripting is very easy and logical compared to this thing i see on these. BadSoldier SetDamage 1 Logical and so :p
  15. It will run just fine with those :) Hehe, just wait till "Oh man cant wait for X, Y or Z aircraft for DCS!!!11oneone" hits you. It's killing me.
  16. It's a bug, think everyone has it, trackir or not. Escing and returning gives you a special mode where you have mouselook + clickable buttons at the same time! :D
  17. http://www.star-force.com/support/users/group4.php#6 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=568704&postcount=3 PS. If you run out of activations, wich eventually happens, you get more activations by mailing ED i thinks, atleast thats how it was for LOFC :)
  18. Hehe glad it worked out! Guess the pilot you deleted figured "Youre coming with me!" :P
  19. Someone whos got hes hands on DCS now could confirm if it should be empty or not
  20. If you do a search in your DCS folder for "logbook" youll find all of them... the one where your pilot details are stored might have gone bad when something happened on that pilot deletion.. Youll recognize the file you want by searching it for stuff like "dead", "kill", "name" and "awards"and whatever stuff that logbook stores ^^ If that Me_LogBook tries to do some stuff to your pilots logs, read it and change its format to show it on gui or whatever it does, could cause that error pointing you mistakenly to this wrong logbook file instead while the real problem is in your pilots logs that went bad on this deletion.... This is all very random but oh well ^^
  21. If a new fixed file also causes the problem... i would look into another issues. I can't recall wich file this one is, is it the one where your pilot details are stored? If not, you might have something wrong in that file instead... or something... could be anything up to maybe os privilages or something else tricky..
  22. I can send you a working one in 9 hours when i get home if someone doesn't get to you before that :) One thing you could try is delete that logbookfile and hope it generates a new one, it does that to some files but i have no idea if it works on this.

  24. There is sound slider for "Cockpit" in your sound options, maybe that would do it, if you didnt try that yet! You could also try a soundmod, just incase its them ogg files or something.. And upgrading soundcard drivers doesnt usually hurt, tho i don't think thats the issue here ^^
  25. My best guess would be that DCS kinda "steals" all your keycommands, for example your WIN button doesnt open start menu like it usually does... Just a guess really.
