Ramsey: thank you so much. I had looked at the Steam Addons and just missed it. Will be an almost InstaBuy, right after I pay my bills. :) Package seems a bit different that at the ED Store and the prices is quite reasonable. Still can't believe I missed it buried at random in the Steam DLCs.

Thx for the info. Sadly, STEAM Incompatible, so either a longer wait or never. :( Got into DCS via a Steam Sale, seems like a mistake now. Sadly, afaik, I'm stuck and not able to convert the products I have spend a bit to much money on to throw it away and start all over with stand alone. :(

The answer in the FAQ is YES, dated 2013. But I wonder? I have a few hundred dollars invested in DCS Steam, but DCS Standalone seems to get more love from ED. Is it still possible to switch from Steam to Standalone DCS.

Having been interested in do this, I was inform ED has stopped that program and bought on Steam stays on Steam. Will ask ED directly.

Read that ED has said the new upcoming MAC will be offered at a 'massive' discount to FC3 owners. Any info or opinions if that will apply to owners of Steam FC3?

New to DCS and stunned! This is a large and complex universe. The Road Map is amazing - so much being worked on. As I am gradually learning more about DCS World, I've wondered at the lack of Chinese aircraft/ships/etc as China is one of the big three in terms of production modern aircraft. Then in the Road Map I happened upon this section for 2017: + Deka Ironwork Simulations - JF-17 "Thunder" (in progress) (2018) (EFM/ASM) - J-11A (FC3 Level Released) (EFM/SSM) - Chinese Assets Pack (AI): -- Aircrafts: --- H-6H (in progress) --- J-10A (in progress) --- JH-7A (in progress) --- KJ-200 AWACS (in progress) --- KJ-2000 AWACS (Released) -- Ships: --- 052C Destoryer DDG-171 "Haikou" (Release) I understand that the Road Map is "unofficial" and totally not binding, but might one hope to see Chinese aircraft in the future? And I see "- J-11A (FC3 Level Released) (EFM/SSM)", is it released in the sense that it is for sale and if so where? You guys are quite brave to release the Road Map and I thank you, it speaks highly of the quality of DCS World and their relationship with their customers.

Thanks folks, very helpful. Just checked and my version is also 2.5.2.20143. Also checked and the Gunsight is present in Tutorials, but not in Instant Action, just as you suggest. I'm coming to realize that DCS is a patchwork of not necessarily coordinated pieces rather than a coordinated whole. Explains a lot and is a good thing to know. Hmm, perhaps modifiable in the mission files, something to explore.

That is very helpful, I'm not losing my mind a 0300, they would have disappeared after the latest update. :D ED got it wrong, tooltips should especially be present in Training Missions. Out of curiosity, I'm going to look at the L-39 training .miz 'options' files and see if changing ["tips"] = false to 'true' helps. For a near total newbie, tooltips are essential.

Just bought the L-39 to get me started learning DCS and the tooltips just vanished. Checked Settings and Tooltips show as enabled. What could be wrong? PS that would be Steam DCS

Just got the L-39 today and busy trying to paddle around in the kiddy pool to get started learning DCS. The great big Gunsight which in the L-39C is just a pita is not disappearing after I got into Settings and checked "Disable Gunsight", it's still there. What could I be doing wrong? Steam DCS if that matters.

Wondering if there is a transcript of the Instructor's Dialog. Would like to see if I could manage to read it.

really hope the servers repopulate. I just got an F-5 and an L-39 and hope to get into the air tomorrow. Will be a bit, but I should be able to provide a target to ppl who know what they are doing before to long. Really shocked that multi-player is dying. Hell, Elder Scrolls Online has hordes of ppl swarming to kill Orcs and such. What's the problem?
