Im willing to buy this app. Im concern about it messing with my multimonitor configuration. Im using now a 3 monitor setup, cockpit view in the center, L MFD on left monitor and R MFD on right monitor. Is it compatible with moltimontors ? Do i have to change graphiconfig.lua? Is easy to uninstall and roll back Any changes made by this application? Is it running fine on IOS 7? Thanks Boarder2, Jorge.

Support ticket ID: 21461. Thanks, Jorge.

I´ve bought all your products since DCS Ka-50, many of them twice or more times for support, give aways, etc, over 15 keys. On May 2013 I wanted to buy the UH-1H, as soon as it was abeilable, but I bought by mistake another copy of FC3 (from wich I already have 2 copies, module I don´t use, actually don´t like beacuse it´s easy of use). Both (Huey & FC3) had the same value, about $50. Transaction ID: TXNBSWSB0XI3PF****, made on 01/05/13. As soon as I realize the mistake (minutes after) I correctly bought another UH-1H Key (excelent module) and opened a support ticket asking the $ for the incorrectly bought FC3 Key back. Date of the ticket: 01.05.2013 00:54:47. User: jorgeiii1. I had no answer yet. I would like, if possible, to have a refound or keep the money on my account for a future module, I don´t have any use for this extra FC3 key I bought by mistake. Of course this Key was never activated. Thanks, Jorge

BATUMI IFR / ILS Landing A-10C
JorgeIII replied to JorgeIII's topic in User Created Missions General
I'm glad you like the tutorial, trying to get the most out of the sim here. @Furia: Very nice (& reckless, jajaj) landing. If you want something harder try it for fun without HUD or MFDs (only analog instruments). If you master that then you can ad some 20-30 knots side wind, it's quite hard without the HUD and its VVI. Saludos, Tango. -
Remember, less fuel means a lighter plane or more ammo. I always carry just enough fuel for the calculated missión time + a little extra. Usualy I calculate the fuel for flying the mission (rute time + over target flight time) @ full power. I fly at cruise speed (fuel flow of 20) so I get something like 30% extra fuel. Quick Fuel calculation: At military power (aprox. fuel flow of 30) you get 1' of flight with 100 LB. So at max power and a fuel flow of 30: 100 LB = 1 minute of flight 1000 LB = 10' 5000 LB = 50' 11000 LB + 110' or 1h 40'. At a minimum fuel flow of 15 (just enough to keep the a-10 flying steady) yo double the time for each pound: 100 Lb = 2 minutes 1000 lb = 20' 5000 lb = 100' or 1h 30' 11000 = 220' or 2h 40' Fuel flow gauges indicate the flow in 100s of Lb per engine, so a value of 30 is 3000 lb/hour/engine, so a total of 6000 LB and hour or 60', wich is the same that 100 LB every minute. If you half the fuel flow to 15 you double your flight time. @ 15 fuel flow you get 2 minutes for every 100 Lb. If yoy have 1000 lb left then you can fly 10' at military power or 20' very slow.

I have a doubt. ED is actually working so hard since the last month in multiplayer stability issues we are suffering with versión 1.2.2 or with newer and worst issues that appeared with 1.2.3 internal testing? Many seem to be certain that they are working in our current problems and that 1.2.3 will be THE solution for MP. I hope so. As far as I recall, when 1.2.3 was first anounced, MP stability enhacement was only a tiny line between many other improvements: "Fixed client crash in MP". Quite unspecific. 1.2.3 was then delayed because: "During the course of version 1.2.3 testing, we found a significant technical problem with multiplayer". So new problems appeared that they have to work on and fix before releasing 1.2.3. I hope they are actually working in the new MP inestability issues that apeared with 1.2.3 internal testing AND the problems we are having right now with public 1.2.2

I made a quick mission for landing with IFR at Batumi. Step by step instructions with pics are provided in the link. Feel free to correct any error. IFR landing at Batumi. DCS A-10C SP & MP misión & tutorial. (last updated: May 2014, DCS-World 1.2.8.) 1) Intercept and fly on course 119 to Batumi at 7000’ (299 R). 2) Fly over the TACAN station. Turn left to a heading of 299 while descending to 3500’ 3) Keep 3500’ on a heading of 299 until the TACAN station is at 143 degrees on you HIS. Bank left to intercept course 119 to Batumi. 4) When on final, on course 119, intercept ILS and land 5) If you don’t see the runway at 650’ climb to 3500’ while banking left to a heading of 299, try it again. Note: You start flying SW of BATUMI Within the first minute the HUD and both MFDs will stop working so you can concentrate on the analog instruments. Turn off master caution alarm after the failures. Step by step: 1) Fly North, trim the aircraft as needed. 2) Turn on autopilot in ALT/HDG mode. 3) Set TACAN: On right lateral panel. Turning the knobs to 16X (1) and the rotative switch to TR (2). 4) Set ILS: Frequency to 110.30 (3) and switch to ON (4, left mouse click). 5) Set HSI course to 119 (1). 6) Connect TACAN (2). 7) Set altimeter to current QNH (2994) (above sea level corrected by pressure) turning the left knob (1) 8- Intercept and fly on course 119 to Batumi (2), descend to 7000’ QNH. Disconnect de AP before you start banking, if you wish reconnect it again when you’re on course. 9) The distance to Batumi is on the top right corner of the HSI in NM. You will know you are flying over the TACAN because: Distance will be close to 1nm (altitude is included in the distance), needle 1 (1) will begin to rotate and the the To-From needle will be at your 6 (2). 10) When crossing over the TACAN beacon bank left in a 15 - 20 degrees turn (1) into a heading of 299. Descend (2) and maintain 3500’ QNH. 11) Maintain a heading of 299 at 3500’ until the TACAN it’s at a heading of 143 degrees (needle 1 in HIS) 12) Maintain altitude, bank left 15-20 degrees and intercept course 119 to TACAN (BATUMI) 13) When on final, connect and intercept ILS 14) Land IFR Batumi 1.1.miz

I think, looking at BATUMI chart, basically you have to: Intercept the TACAN station flying on Radial 299 (heading 119) at 7000'. Bank left to heading 299 while descending to 3500'. Keep 3500'. When you have the tacan at 143 degrees bank left again to intercept course 119. On final conect and intercept ILS, follow the needles till you see the runway 12, land. If when your reach the minimum descend altitud stated for ILS (decision ponit) you dont see the runway, you climb to 3500' while turning left to a heading of 299 to start over. Tested it in DCS, works flawless.

Great Link, thanks. (Charts under AIP. ..../ AP PartIII/ AD 2/ AD 2.1.). As stated, all rusian AP. Link added to the first post. In DCS only 5 airports have TACAN. They are all Georgians: Kobuleti, Vaziani, Kutaisi, Senaki and Batumi. For now we have IFR aproaches for Batumi & Vaziani (shared here). For those new to IFR, Tacan, kind of a military VOR, a radio beacon, is need for IFR aproach until you can intercept ILS. With time (going out on a hunting trip today) I'll prepare and share a simple missión with very low visibility, no functionals MFDs & HUD, and a briefing with IFR charts and step by step instructions for a TACAN/ILS aproach.

OK. BATUMI IFR chart adapted for DCS-World. (link for the high resolution PDF on the first post of this thread)
-
Those are known and excellent. I have de visual aproach ones printed. But they are groung charts of the airports and visual aproach charts (VFR = visual flight rules). Not for IFR (= instrumental flight rules). Highly recommended. From the charts I originaly posted only Batumi is usable, the other airports dont have TACAN in DCS (although some more do have only ILS) and thus are not suitable for full real IRL. I will edit the charts for Batumi, adapt them for DCS map magnetic declination and post them here.
-
Yes,that what I found when I did a search, nothing free for the Black Sea region. I will think of something to share with DCS pilots.
-
No fear, just doing what's right . And hopping more simmers get interested in IFR.
-
Yes what I ment was magnetic declination / variation, made a bad translation. I like sailing and have done it in many seas so I'm used to reading nautical charts, even in the GPS era. Love the old school, using the pínula, the compass and other map tools. AFAIK declination deppends on magnetic north and many other factors, like magma composition and flow below you, etc. Nautical charts gives you real bearing & the magnetic declination for a specific year and how to correct it over time. Well, the fact is that magnetic North in DCS Black Sea Map is different for a few degrees from real north and from real aeronautical charts with magnetic bearings. Maybe you can compile and share the free charts you have for those who doesent have the Jeppessen? If they are easy to edit I can correct the courses and adapat the IFR ones for DCS. I will be a great tool for the sim. This template with real naviagtion waypoints for DCS might be of your interest: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/38356/

Actually you're right Kaiza. I even uploaded the current 2013 charts and not the old ones from 2006 you can see in the first post pics. Deleting de link. If someone has any question, send me a PM. PS: Outdated aeronautical charts have no commercial use.
-
Would like to see the finished tutorial Headspace. Charts are not adjusted. As far as we tested as long as you choose an airport in DCS with TACAN and ILS, charts will work OK. For IFR, specially for final you have to correct the heading by 4 to 6 degrees to make it perfect. I suposse the difference in magnetic bearing is because the static magnetic deviation in DCS world and the one in the charts dated on 2006, I will ask one of our RL pilots. Actually I dont know if bearings and radials in aeronautical charts are real or magnetic. Example: Batumi bearing for RW 13: Charts 126 degrees, DCS world 120 degrees. AFAIK Tacan beacons in DCS are on the side of the runways, and work OK. Turning bank angle for A-10C on basic should be approximately 15 to 20 degrees. We have a few custom made charts made for instrucción (by Alfredo):

Compiled by Alfredo -117-, real life pilot, for our squadron, BOE -117-. This charts definitely deserves to be shared . In english and with QNH & QFE altitudes. Note: the original attached charts were deleted to prevet copyright issues. There is a new link with free ones. Contains the charts for the following airports: Sochi Batumi Tbilisi Nalchik Mineralye Vody Krasnodar Anapa Gelendzhik Notice that not all airports in DCS have ILS/TACAN stations as in real life. Oh, now I get it. I just made a quick reading. Yes, if someone is not seeing the runway lights on MP he just has to play with HDR options. Can't help you with light posts, sorry.
-
Try this: on in game graphics options HDR ON and with normal or warm colors. Las week two mates from BOE-117 dind't see any airport lights on an IFR MP practice. We all checked our graphics options and pined it down to HDR. Problem solved.
