  1. Will be good to know but hard to memorize!
  2. A few tips: The Mig-21 is in disadvantage so your best chances are with a suprprise, a close ambush from below/behind. So don't use your radar for searching, if you do you will alert your adversary and let him know where you are. He will avoid you or begin a BVR hunting. 1) Read the briefing and find where fighter will be flying. Find a few valleys in their path. 2) Fly very low in this valleys with your radar in standby at 500-700 km/h for max endurance. Use the mountains to hide from any RWR signal (searching radar). 3) Search using your RWR and looking up with zoom. You will eventually find a target. 4) When you find it stay away from its sensors field of view, gain speed with emergency AFT, climb and ambush from behind. For close up dogfights with high maneuvering targets IR R-60M work best. 5) Abort the attack if you feel the target is flying to fast for a fast ambush or there are other bandits at his 6.
  3. Colseg there is an error with this mod and the latest beta release. When installed DCS BETA wont launch, showing an error in the log that sais something that the moded file is trying to make some change to DCS, cant remember exactly. DCS launches fine when the mod is uninstalled. Would be grate to have it working when the new patch is released out of beta. This mod should be officially part of and delivered with de Mig-21 module.
  4. Making my post right: Max range speed (IAS): 690 km/h under 500m 620 km/h at 5000m 510 km/h at 10000m Max. endurance speed: 480 km/h Source: English mig-21bis export version manual.
  5. Slightly off topic: Do you know of what is made the nosecone? WOOD. Yes, laminated wood to prevent interference with the radar. Quite impressive how its made so symmetrical and how it can handle so much friction and heat. Only the small tip is made of metal:
  6. In game at 6000 m you will need: 300 / 350 L / 100 km at 700 IAS (75-85% power) 1600 L / 100 km at max speed with AFT. A value in between with military (100%) power. I choose my speed based in fuel left, distance to go and objetives urgency. Always calculate your bingo.
  7. As far as I remember from original MIG 21 manual: Max range IAS: aproximate 700 km/h. This value is almost independent from weight, loadout and altitud. Of course at the same ias range increases with altitud (aprox. 20 to 40% at 6000 m and 10000m, maybe moré). Max in air time IAS: around 480 km/h. This IAS value do varíes with different weight and altitudes. I posted the table somewhere.
  8. Wolfk made the bug cristal clear. Other memeber of my squad with the TMW hotas has the same problem with this mod. After a full windows and DCS reinstall it persist, TDC (O and L keys) is not responsive when mapped to the joystick. Please Corseg take a look when you can. Thanks.
  9. Solved. 1)Deleted saved games mig 21 profile. 2) Repaired DCS Made the key bindings again. Will try what happens with Corsed mod.
  10. Do you mind telling how you solve this? I have the same problem using Colseg key binding mod. Thanks.
  11. Is there a black cloud also? I found its happens "randomly" when turning off AFT, it might be associated with moving too fast the throttle or another unknown condition. Its not related with Jatto.
  12. --SOLVED-- But I cant use this mode and make the TDC (O and L keys) work on the joystick at the same time. Colseg I have a problem binding de O and L keys to the TM Warthog with this mod since the last Mig 21 beta. I can bind the same function witch is abailable for joystick binding (just on the next line of the keys O & L functions) but its not working on the game, I have to use O and L keys. Tried your latest update but the same problem persist. I deleted the saved games folder and made the bindings again but the problem persist. Really like this mode, should be part of the official Mig 21 Module. Thanks for your help, Jorge.
  13. I did not check that. Will try again, but I now remember the nose cone needle was stuck in the full open (back) position. The lack of power was clearly felt at low speeds also, where nose cone should either way be fully open (like when taking off). So there should not be any difference in power at low speed with nose cone off (retracted= open).
  14. The bug is still pressent with the latest patch. After rearming and repairing the mig reacts as it has at least 40-50 percent less power or the airbreaks on. Yesterday in MP it happened to all 5 migs in the mission. The plane loaded wont mantain 500 km/h IAS without AFT and almost wont climb. With emergenci AFT it could maintain 700 km/h IAS.
  15. Well before the patch this Sau mode worked as the Path autopilot mode in the A10c. Very usefull but I dont know if it was realistic. Now it only makes the mig bank right a few degrees and then pitch angel starts changing slowly, i cant find any use to it.
  16. FPS are MUCH better in the last beta release. Tried it in MP with 3 to 5 Migs and we all could fly OK. FPS might already be at the same lever of the other modules. Thanks LN.
  17. The bug seems to be already fixed in the beta release, IAS indicator is OK and the wind "push" the plane in the right direction. Will do more testing. Thanks Novak & LN team!
  18. Thanks Cobra. It's good to acknowledge its a known error and that Novac will work on it.
  19. Thanks for the ETA Cobra. Any news on the wind completely messing the AFM? ( http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=131919).
  20. Colseg could you add a "two" position switch for IR and SAHR misile type selector? Just keeping out the neutral option. We dont have so many three position switch es in the TM W. It would also be nice to have a two position switch working for on and off landing lights. Thanks.
  21. The point of the post is to make the Devs aware of this big flaw in the flight model. It actually can hover like a Helicopter. The problem is much bigger than the error with climbing speed and cruise speed at medium to high altitude (the module cant mach, by far, the real manual data). Its not necessary here to make clear the significance of wind and climate in flying physics and in a simulator like DCS. Flying with strong wind makes the actual AFM feel like a pre-alfa testing FM, not like a small beta bug, try it yourself. I hope this din't "slipped past" the Devs and that it's some kind of new bug with the last patch and is easy to fix. I hope that the person who developed the flying physics for the Mig took the wind variable into his calculations.
  22. I think I red that, it looks like any wind interaction with the flight model is heavily bugged, being more obvious at extreme windy conditions (like being able to fly BACKWARDS into the wind...).
