  1. I find it surprising that he's shown in the air in that screenshot.
  2. Damn you, Saint! Hate that guy :P
  3. I just see this under the opposite light. - ED made the decision to place the F-14 in pre-order. - ED is probably not expecting the Mig-19 to sell that much and did not bother to put it in pre-order - Both become ready at the same time - ED makes the logical choice of releasing the Mig-19 first and the F-14 later. This order maximizes the sales in several aspects. I think we can expect the F-14 release in two weeks or so.
  4. Well the Mig-19 doesn't appear to have such a complex release, it's not in pre-order on Steam for example. I suppose a lot more stars need to line up once you have a Steam pre-order campaign, you suddenly have to also submit your release date to Valve.
  5. Yesterday I played Mission 9 - ESCORT. (Steam build, open beta branch) Unfortunately I wasn't recording a video yesterday, but I noticed a mess in the VO's scripts. - You have to go intercept a "strange" contact on the radar. - You get close and then two of them come towards you - You ask permission to engage - Then your IP starts saying things that have no relation with the current situation, such as "I'm hit!" or Overlord saying "permission to RTB", or even an F10 item that allows to ask for RTB. However after destroying all bogeys, I could finish the mission.
  6. I can confirm the report from OP. It does feel weird and unnatural. And if you don't believe it, just watch the full video.
  7. Please make that sound go away or be massively reduced before release. Or give me an option to remove it. A suggestion would be to use an intercom volume knob in the cockpit to control the volume of Jester.
  8. Side note : one of the waypoints is at 26,000 ft, but INS seems to only allow for 25,000ft. Sounds like a bug in the actual plane?
  9. So the beginning of the mission is indeed fixed, but after you shot down two L39's it goes a bit off rail.
  10. I said no to this poll. But I would really buy fictional planes, though. Meaning I'd like a current gen fighter. I can imagine a fantasy module that would be "ED"'s vision of the next gen fighter. It would of course be based on reality and what we know about those fighters. But whatever is classified or a bit blurry would just be filled in with ED’s best guess.
  11. But so the answer to my question is no one knows when they fix this, then.
  12. That it's the one that performs the worst and it's not optimized at all. To achieve the same framerate as on the other maps, you have to alter graphic settings. You have people browsing through the files and finding monster textures. It's a vast amount of 4096x4096 textures. Diffuse, noise, specular and normal map, all in full resolution. And if they are used multiple times too, as in, multiple materials, then that makes it even worse. Compare this to the other 3 maps, where it's tiny 256 or 512 color, some occasional spec, and a 2048x2048 noise with just a few normal maps.
  13. I understand that users of the forum are very optimistic and positive, don't get me wrong. I'm just here because outside of this forum, the map is getting really bad comments and if you take a guy like me, I'm clearly holding back from purchasing until it sounds like something that is playable. For example assets apparently have terrible LOD management, have to get really close before they LOD in, and then when they do it's the full A lod, so framerate tanks immediately.
  14. Syria? And when should that one be released? Also early access or will that one be completed at release, allowing focus to be on fixing Normandy?
  15. What would be a good summary of the hundreds of pages of messages surrounding this map? I was originally interested in purchasing it along with the Spitfire, but seems like all you hear about it is the terrible performance of that map (worse fps at 10,000 feet than slaloming amongst the Las Vegas buildings, Vegas being butter smooth, and Normandy being a stutter fest. What is the timeline here for a fixed and optimized package?
  16. Works for me as well.
  17. I don't think the fix has made it anywhere yet. He was talking about the version you attached to your post here above.
  18. Where did you put the file? For my side (I have the Steam version), I'm placing it in ..\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Missions\Campaigns You should be overwriting a file. The path should be similar for you, it's not in My Docs but in the game installation folders.
  19. Ah well please merge this with https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=222098 At first I didn't think the title was related to my issue.
  20. So I'm having this issue where whenever I have a menu that has a dropdown selector (typically the control mapping menu, when I click to "SEARCH" at the top is a good example), the dropdown will be rendered on the other screen. I'm using 2 monitors. Default in Windows is not the one where the game is rendering. Default monitor in windows settings is used as secondary screen by the game to display radar / tgp and all.
  21. see here for full thread. It's actually lost over there and it's not about A-10 and not only about training missions. This is more a general bug in the game, so better reported here. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=195397 This started for me when one day I wanted to try out VR in DCS. I went to UI Layer in control mappings, and assigned SPACE as "reset VR headset". Space being quite a common VR reset key, I thought nothing of it. Then after I messed about in VR and decided it wasn't for me, I went back to TrackIR and forgot about it all. Until a mission required me to PRESS SPACE to proceed to the next scripted event. Space did nothing. I searched and couldn't even map Space to anything. Game was not telling me about the fact there was some setting in UI Layer that had it bound to something. It was simultaneously bound to Gun Trigger and VR Position reset and that seems to have broken the game entirely. Usually you press a mapped button or key and the menu goes straight to the control assigned to it. Pressing Space on the controls menu wasn't bringing me anywhere at all. But I could map Space with a modifier, that was working. That's when I started suspecting a double bind, and indeed was the case. --> Game should warn that a key you try to bind is already assigned to another control --> If that can't be done, game should still accept Space bar key input to proceed in scripted event AND do whatever else space is bound to
  22. Ok, I have found the culprit. It was in UILAyer. I mapped SPACE one day to "RESET VR HEADSET". And that broke the whole game. So if you are coming from google and have the same issue as I had, a key that seemingly has no effect on the game, make sure to check ALL your different planes and UI layers mappings to ensure you have not mapped the key to something else. Game should probably tell the user it's mapped to something else instead of not giving any feedback whatsoever. Or when you're supposed to press SPACE to advance a script, make it actually work would be cool too.
  23. Alright. I just found that if I clear my Input folder (renamed it to BACKUPInput) and start the game then I can use SPACE again. So there's something in that folder that the game doesn't like at all. I'm attaching a .zip of that folder so someone at ED can attempt to reproduce. BACKUPInput.zip
  24. Ok, one more thing I just found out. If I try a modifier + space then I can remap / give input. But if I do space alone, it doesn't register any of it. The problem is, even if I set Gun Trigger to LCtrl-Space, that doesn't make any script move forward.
  25. Just would like to add my name here. I too have this very odd issue. I have ruled out 3rd party software. Tried without trackIR and have nothing else running that could "steal" the space input. I have ruled out any USB weirdness by removing my controllers and trying various USB ports.
