No it just looks down at an angle in front of the aircraft. It’s the closest we have to boresight now kind of. Under certain conditions you can slew it around and the HUD targeting box will follow it around so you can designate targets for CCRP attack. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s really wonky sometimes it works sometimes I cycle steerpoints then it works sometimes I switch to nav master mode then back to a2g master mode and it works. It’s a learning curve for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I also found that after each time I use the snowplow work around I have to go to master mode nav then back to A2G in order to reset the snow plow and slew it over a target again if I don’t do that I can’t move it a second time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s always around the HUD box and allows you to designate a target for CCRP attack even if it’s not a steerpoint? I know how to enter point and area track what I don’t know how to do is find a random target and put the HUD box on it so I can CCRP attack it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve entered hot vipers with multiple steer points pre loaded enter CCRP AG mode make TGP SOI enter SP leave SP TMS up to enter area track slew the TGP and the hud box doesn’t follow still. Also thank you for your help! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve tried the snowplow thing and most of the time I still can’t get the hud box to move around even with waypoints and stuff. You don’t any more the update has made using the TGP a pain in the ass. You can’t easily find targets of opportunity and make them system targets for CCRP attack any more. You have to have steerpoints for everything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I guess what I’m saying is That you can’t randomly skew around find a target it designate it a system target and then ccrp attack it without making the new target a steerpoint. I’m the hog you can hook a target make it SPI and CCRP attack it. In the hornet you can TDC designate a target and CCRP attack it. You can do something comparable in the harrier. I just don’t know why they took the ability to do it in the viper without a work around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can’t get it to work most of the time. I just dont understand how the TGP worked so well before and now we’ve got this mess of a system. TGP Update frustrations Can someone smarter than me tell me what the purpose of the latest update to the TGP was? I can’t use the TGP to generate a system target any more. I can’t use it to look at a point and say I want to CCRP that target without preprogramming it and I can’t boresight it. Is this something they’re going to fix in the future? In the A10 you can find a target of opportunity hook it make it a sensor point of interest and attack it without having to pre program it. It just sucks now that I can’t use the targeting pod to tartlet something and attack it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There isn’t a tdc depress. You used to be able to hit TMS up and it would initiate a track and give you drop parameters for a CCRP attack now it just initiated a track. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How do I designate a CCRP target using the TGP post update So if I’m carrying CBU-97s and I want to CCRP release them on a target I cant unlesss I put the grid of that target into a steerpoint? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was able to briefly move the TGP around including the hud box but once I designated something I couldn’t move it any more. I have no clue how to use it at all now in order to set up ccrp attacks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can someone please list out the new steps doe moving around the TGP and slaving the aircraft td box to where my TGP is looking? I’ve never had problems before and now when I get a point track on a target the aircraft doesn’t realize it and I can’t get weapons release parameters. Thank you all for your help.
