Yeah but if you're just flying along see a group of tanks in the open and want to CCRP attack using cluster bombs and you're nowhere near a steerpoint its super buggy and unresponsive. You can mash CZ and SP and eventually the HUD Targeting box will appear on the HUD but its not reliable at all.

When a new jet drops and I’m trying to learn systems weapons navigation I just create in air scenarios to train. When it comes to actual missions or online I always manual cold start unless I start on the catapult. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m not worried about that I’m worried about the fact that I can’t just be flying see a target of opportunity out the hud cursor on the target slew the TGP to finish lining up in the target and make the target a system target for CCRP attack. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is there any update on this? The current procedure seems to be fly along put the AG mode into CCRP and alternate between hitting sp and cz until the HUD TD box and bomb fall line appear on the hud. Sometimes this works first try sometimes it works after a while sometimes it doesn’t work at all. Once the HUD TB box becomes slewable move the box over the target and initiate a track. There still seems to be some offset on where the hud box is looking vs where the TGP is actually focused. Once you have the track you can CCRP weapons release. For whatever reason this method is a pain in the rear and very inconsistent. I just want Wags or someone to put out a video that shows him flying away from a steerpoint he sees a target of opportunity and sets up the viper for a CCRP attack without making a new steerpoint. I don’t care what people do offline or in coop but I mean it does affect you in pvp because if the option wasn’t there people would forget things or not be able to do them. Try going into a dogfight without remembering to turn on your radar or turn on your RWR. I’ve forgotten to do those things and it’s cost me. I get that it’s a game it just seems silly to me that people can master the process of bringing the jet and all it’s systems to life or you can get shot down by someone that can’t be bothered because they used a short cut. I’m sure a lot of the same people don’t don’t create waypoints or flight plans in their aircraft but use the mission editor for everything. So many people are constantly complaining about missing features and missing items but it’s like you guys don’t use the features in the jets already so what’s the point lol. I also work 50 hours a week and have a wife and 4 month old and I don’t feel like cold starting an aircraft is taking away noticeable amounts of time. I find it shocking too honestly the number of people that auto start. I just figured there are literally scores of other simulators where you just jump in and go. I guess I just figured that with DCS being so expensive that people would be more invested in starting up the aircraft. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to when you can use the sp mode to designate. I just keep mashing SP and CZ occasionally cycling through CCRP CCIP and guns until the TD box appears on my hud and is slewable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I never fly the hornet haha. My three favorite airframes are the tomcat the viper and the harrier. I’m just saying if there was a super hornet I would definitely never fly the legacy hornet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It keeps me honest if I forget to turn on my RWR or move my radar from standby to operate and it gets me killed it’s something to learn from. I guess. I just feel like why play a sim if you’re not gonna sim? I also have people I play with that don’t know crap about their aircraft and they just auto start and go and are constantly asking questions maybe their laziness has tainted how I feel about it idk. I know this is gonna be contentious but who here uses auto start? I literally never use it for any aircraft because I feel like it defeats the purpose of playing a game like this.
