I just started doing air refueling in the last two weeks. I started in the tomcat and am pretty good at it now. I’ve also done the hornet, harrier, eagle, and viper. The tomcat was super difficult for me to learn but after doing the tomcat i found the hornet to be super easy. The harrier was hard just because of the probe location but once I made contact I found the harrier to be the easiest aircraft to control in terms of throttle manipulation. The eagle and the viper were both super difficult and I probably disconnected a dozen times trying to get one tank of gas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can someone tell me why when I am slewing around my TPOD it will randomly switch to DMT or the TV? I don’t think I’m hitting anything I will just be slewing around looking for targets and it will randomly switch. Any advice would be appreciated thank you so much! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can the 135 mprs refuel boom aircraft as well as probe and drogue? I refueled my tomcat off one in a mission I made and then went to refuel from it later in a viper. I got cleared for contact but the boom didn’t lower. Just curious thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are the TPR pedals worth the price tag? I currently have the 80 dollar thrustmaster pedals and I must say I hardly use them. I don’t have a good feel for the resistance and always seem to be pushing left or right. Money isn’t an issue here I’m just curious if the TPR pedals are worth the price and if they help at all. As someone relatively need to DCS I was just curious where the tomcat stands in terms of air to air amongst the other modules. I’m sure there are better dogfighters than the tomcat but at BVR does anything beat the AWG-9 and the Phoenix? Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Does anyone have any advice about how best to use the radar at high altitude. I have had many experiences where I will be flying alone with jester I’ll get a radar lock at like 50 miles and then all of a sudden I’ll lose the lock and the target will disappear from my scope I’ll spend the next 90 seconds trying to acquire only to eventually get locked up by the bandit when it 15 or fewer miles away. Is there a recommended mode I should tell jester to use to find bandits that are 20000 feet lower than me when we are in collision? Sometimes when I fly the viper some random thing gets designated and I can’t save sensors and stuff to the TGP. Idk if a steer point is the target and I can’t figure out how to unselect what is selected. I will get a point track on a target in the TGP and the CCRP drop line will still be behind me for whatever reason. Could someone list the exact steps I need in order to put down an awacs or tanker and have them remain interactive? I will set down a tanker or awacs and sometimes I can contact them sometimes I can’t. I know how to set the radios but sometimes they don’t even show up in the communications menu as something I’m able to communicate with. Do I have to build waypoints for tankers and awacs or can I just drop them on the map and set them to refueling or awacs? Sometimes I put them on the map and I can communicate with them for a little bit and then I no longer have that option even though they are still airborne. If I start on the ground it’s always a cold start. If I’m just trying to practice something I’ll throw a quick scenario together in the editor but I love cold starting the jet and bringing all of the systems to life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just a few general questions. When it comes to putting friendly units on the map and enabling comms with them what do I need to do? Do I need to just put line an AWACS down and give it a frequency? Do I need to give a frequency and create waypoints? Do I need to create waypoints and tell it to perform command set frequency? Sometimes I’ll put units down and I can contact them no problem. I tried putting down an awacs a kc130 a 135 and a Viking tanker so I could practice air refueling. I could only contact one of the aircraft even though I assigned frequencies to all of them and gave them tasks. Any help would be appreciated! Also, I know how to work the radios and do that stuff but I would hit the comms menu and most of the air frames weren’t even listed as as aircraft I could talk with. Thank you so much for any help! When it comes to air refueling does the tanker change altitude a lot? I have just started trying to air refuel the tomcat and while this my first attempt to refuel I have probably spent 2-3 hours on it maybe made contact a dozen times and have taken in maybe 10 gallons. It seems like when I’m trying to get setup behind the Viking they it is constantly making small increases and decreases in altitude. Also can’t anyone clarify how to trim my aircraft properly for air refueling? What am I looking for and how do I know when my cat is properly trimmed. Thank you so much for any help offered!
