Hopefully in the short time Gadroc will code up a gauge designer which will make it easy to build up custom gauges! Also, since this Helios is public now... would love to see folks with art skills make some new panels, switches, etc... please share

Who is using a mimo 10 inch touch for Helios? Does it work well? and is there a frame hit? Thanks, FLIM

Guys, the current setup is... Get the kit, build and paint the box, glue the buttons on the flange(use acrylic glue), and screw the face plate on. Buttons... Screw the switches to the switch mount and then buy a Leo bodar Buo836x and wire each switch to the board. It takes about 1-2 hours to wire. Now, I soldered the wires to the switch... Light solder, but very easy and you will be proud once it is all finished! Spend a half day and you will have it working! Perfect mate with TM mfd's.

I can ship anywhere... I can give you the switch position cad file if you want to design a board, but the push buttons work pretty well. The ones I'm using don't have that much movement. Gadroc and I will build a pcb later on, which can be swapped with the current method.

Feed , as Gadroc and I progress on our pits, there will be many updates on the hardware side.

I have 3 kits ready to go for $169 plus ship. Just shoot me a PM if interested. The package is small and light, so International shipping should be fairly cheap via USPS. kit includes laser cut mdf structure (un -built)/with switch mount, buttons painted and engraved- you will need to glue the backs on ( flange ), and engraved face plate/top cover. Also, you will need to add your own electronics and do the wiring. I have a link to the switches where I bought for mine. If you want backlighting, then buy a phidgets 64, we will have it working in Helios soon. switches... I don't have a pcb for this one, even though I could get one done for it... I think is much easier this way. You might spend a little time soldering switches to leo's board, but it is not hard at all. Just takes a little time. Also, this way is cheaper then going with a pcb, and if you get a bad switch down the road, it will be easy to replace! Price... I still trying to see how much time it takes to build... I'm saying around $150 plus ship. The buttons take a lot of time to cut/paint/engrave... etc

Like I said, I did the paint process and in the long term it just takes to much time. I can crank out a panel now in about 20 min.

Only way to do it ! just use the side profile of a drawn rocker and cut two of them, glue, sand... then done. I'm using .25 which makes the rocker 1/2 inch wide. The painting white and black is such a pain, and if you have to make a bunch, then it just takes to much time! I like realistic, but I'm all about making things easy as long as it looks good.

Also, I was thinking about having a few kits available if someone wants one. I can't to sell them all the time, but can do a few here and there. Thanks guys Ya, the buttons are laser engraved and the rockers are built up with acrylic.

LOL, two great minds think alike! I might redo the acrylic on mine using white and then paint black /engrave. The letters will not show as well, but I want mine backlit... I always fly at night anyway. Rockers... best way is to cut them out in halves and then glue together!

The main box is laser cut mdf and the panels/buttons are acrylic. Switches... I'm using a cheap mom push buttons that screw to a switch mount board inside... easy to replace and work on! The opening will have a cover, but it is for maintenance down the road. Overall the cost is pretty low, but the buttons take all the time. I should have it all finished and working by next weekend.

In the last couple of days I've been working on my UFC setup... A very tedious build , but impossible without a laser!:cry: I'm re-working the Rocker buttons and waiting for my switches to come in the mail. I will be using a Leo Bodnar board for electronics.

I have been so busy lately with my real job that I have not had anytime to work on this stuff! I currently have all the lcd's and stuff to make this thing work.. just need time!
