I don't suppose there is a way to display/control the A-10 DCU with this app? I see an old reference to it but nothing since. The UFC is handy but the entire CDU would be great!

I add new panels on request by users. So if you'd like a CDU, I can work on it. It will come after another request I got about adding a DED to the F-16 ICP.

Meanwhile, feel free to use the Android app that @MirabelleBenou suggested if it works for you.

  2. I had this campaign for a while but never managed to get past mission 1. It requires 3 landing in small areas and a hover for the ASW. And if you mess up with one, which always was the case for me, then the mission had to be restarted and it's quite long, because a Huey is not that fast crossing the water from the Argo to Batumi and back.

Since then I got better with landings on the Huey and tried again mission 1.

It's still very stressful for me to land on this tiny ship area, but this time I made it and for the first time I read: "Mission Accomplished"!!!!

Overall nice voice overs and explanations about what you have to do. I can't wait for the next missions.

  3. Today, I was flying and doing some weapon practice with the SU-25T. All weapons worked fine, but using bombs (like FABs) is no longer possible. In the HUD, the CCIP reticle doesn't show on the ground but seems to be mirrored up in the sky.

If I manage to put this reticle on the ground with a very steep dive, it turns into a diamond, like for activating post-designate (CCRP-like) and then guidance circle is completely offset to the left.

So, neither CCIP or CCRP bombing no longer works for me.

I played around with it a bit more.  Everything works great, including setting a new steerpoint (selecting a number, then PB10 in the top right), until I press PB10 to enter the Steerpoint submenu (e.g. press PB10 without any numbers in the scratchpad).  After that, the app doesn't go into the steerpoint menu (but DCS does) and the displays don't sync correctly anymore, even after going back to the main menu.  So certainly looks like something breaks when PB10 is pressed to enter that submenu.

The root cause of the bug related to the UFC line updates after pushing PB10 is still under investigation from my side.

However, I found a workaround to fix it. In the iUFCExport.lua script, just comment out these 2 highlighted lines at the bottom of the file (using 2 dashes like I did).

I'll post a new version of the lua for those downloading them from GitHub.

  5. I've tried several campaigns in DCS, built-in and paid campaigns.

Since the really great paid campaigns I played for the A-10C like The Enemy Within or Operation Piercing Fury, I found most of the other campaigns either too much repetitive, too hard or requiring you to read tons of documents to prepare your mission for hours, until I found Serpent's head campaign.

It was number 2 on the store so I decided to look first for #1, which is downloadable for free from the DCS user files.

So far, after 3 missions, I enjoy again DCS campaigns. Not overly complex, not overly administrative, but just enough realistic and enough stressful for a weekend F/A-10 "pilot". I bought Serpent's Head 2 campaign right away!

Thank you for building these campaigns!

  6. After all I read on the forums and saw on YouTube, I was very excited to try the new graphic settings of DCS 2.9, especially DLSS.

Note that I use DCS in VR with a Quest 2. In OpenXR, I have no upscaling, only foveated and turbo modes on.

I already had some experience with DLSS with the other civilian flight simulator: it helped for the FPS, but because of the blurriness, even with "DLSS quality", was a no-go. It was impossible to read the gauges properly.

It shouldn't have been a surprise, but same for DCS, DLSS makes the gauges and other texts blurry in the cockpit. Adding sharpness doesn't help much.

The one big improvement for me was DLAA. All shimmering was gone and the clarity was slightly improved, but at the cost of FPS, too much in my case.

So, I just gave back on DLSS, DLAA and continued with my older settings, except that there was one good news with DCS 2.9: I could push the sliders quite a lot to the right for the details, clutter, trees, etc settings and without noticeable FPS drop. That was the good news of DCS 2.9 for me.

Maybe I didn't leverage DLSS/DLAA settings properly. If anybody has alternative suggestions regarding these settings, please feel free to advise.

  7. I read somewhere that there was now an issue from Steam users of DCS, especially the ones mixing Steam and standalone modules.

I'm launching and buying DCS modules exclusively from Steam. Why can't I get any more authorizations from DCS and have my 89 DLCs disabled?

I checked in my DCS profile on DCS Web site and didn't find anything about "binding" as other thread mentioned.

Exact error message at start is: Failed to get authorization data. Error code is 502. No saved authorization found.

    Initial impressions are REALLY nice!

    Couple of (inevitable) things...

WSO UFC does not seem to work, in cockpit display does not change, nor does the IPad display when in the WSO seat.

Exception is the vol rotaries, if pressed they change the preset number, this should be on the white button, slightly above the vol switch, same in the pilot seat. The white button is a press AND rotary, rotary changes the preset, press enters the freq into the system. The volume switches are just that, volume alone, and the bottom left brt rotary simply adjusts the brightness of the in-cockpit display (doesn't look like anything is mapped to it though)

Radio 2 decimal is on the Ipad is one too many to the right (ie 266.000 shows as 2660.00). As well a leading "T" shows up, not sure what that is, it MAY be in-game, but I have not seen it before.

Menu button does not indicate on the IPad display. The cockpit display changes though, so the actual push buttons SEEM to do what they are supposed to, it just does not display on the IPad

As I find stuff, I'll let you know, but this is a clear game-changer!

    Thanks for the feedback!

WSO UFC is not supported yet.

The vol rotaries are not implemented. I used that free space to put the channel increment/decrement instead, because the white button is already used for push. If it's too disturbing, I can change the increment/decrement position.

I noticed the radio frequency decimal position issue. I'll fix that this weekend.

I know the PB10 button doesn't get a display update, but I didn't notice that the MENU button does the same. I'll check that.

Thanks so much for this!  A million times easier than trying to get Helios to work!

I just gave it a try and found that there's a sync issue with the text on the F-15E UFC next to the ten PBs at the top.  The buttons work but, for example, going into the steerpoint menu (at PB10) doesn't change the text in the app (it does successfully do it in the jet in DCS though).  Looks like backing out and back into the F-15E in the app let it update once, but didn't refresh after that.

Not sure if that's helpful, I can try to provide more info/images/logs(??) if needed.

Edit: tried it out with the Hornet and everything worked great, so looks like it's F-15E specific.  I should also clarify that this is front cockpit only, didn't try in the WSO seat.

    You're welcome !

I noticed the problem with PB10 too. For now, I don't understand what's going on. It's as if DCS wasn't sending any update after you push this button and only this button. Will analyze more this weekend.

WSO seat is not supported yet.
