(On the RDR ATTK format) I am not definitively sure if this is a bug so obviously let us know if it isn't, but even with COLOR boxed in the DATA subformat, when in an STT lock the target HAFU is not colored. This is kind of unintuitive when you see a red or yellow HAFU on LTWS then go to an STT and it becomes green.

Sensor select switch depress will do an IFF interrogation. TDC depress has no function on the SA format
-
Ah, interesting it's not on the legacy Hornet. Thanks for the reply ED! Ehh, I get what you mean but it's ED's job to simulate the Hornet as it is not as people want it to be. Personally I'd rather see the laser codes only changeable on the ground too.

This is half a wish thread and half a question as to whether or not this would be correct. I have heard before that a positively identified friendly target is marked with the word "FRIEND" by the square TD box. Is this right? If so, it would be nice to see it implemented soon.

It has been said by Wags that the Litening II targeting pod will be started when the AGM-88C HARM is complete. I imagine the ATFLIR will come sometime after. The HARM needs Pre-Briefed (PB) mode and the pullback function done. As much as the TGP is gonna be awesome, I think this is a good thing - we don't want them leaving things unfinished to work on the next.

This is not a realistic expectation but I would love this. F/A-18 multicrew would be absolutely amazing

This is the case. That video is outdated with respect to the hostile identification criteria. It was changed this most recent update.
-
Oh, never heard of that. Where'd you read about VSRWS?
-
Not true about VS actually. Per the manual it is its own top-level mode along with RWS and TWS.
-
Even with COLOR boxed in the DATA subformat, the HAFU of your STT target is never colored. Is this intentional/correct?
-
LTWS is not fully implemented? How so?
-
I am aware what it's supposed to do as Wags explained. There is no donors in my mission, and the HAFU even disappears once I do an STT - hence the bug. And the sticky said you can provide images or videos if you don't have a track. If they would like a track I can reproduce the error and save the file.

What defines an ambiguous contact? When would the Hornet make a contact ambiguous - and is it implemented at this moment? I don't think I've ever seen the ambiguous HAFU symbol in-game.
-
This will be very cool. Gets you a better idea of the situation when you can see everything you see on the SA page on the radar, too
-
When I pick up a hostile contact on radar with LTWS, but do not STT it, the hostile HAFU comes up on the HUD even though nothing else could be locking it up. When I go to STT lock, it goes away (it shouldn't have been there at all as there is nothing else locking that target and hostile ident-ing it). EDIT: pictures

Hey everyone - two questions. 1 - with the new rules of engagement in the Hornet, a hostile HAFU ident can only be assigned with both a negative Mode 4 response and an NCTR print or off board hostile identification. My question is about NCTR - what happens if a mission is set up where both sides have the same plane? I take it NCTR will just not contribute then? 2 - what is an "ambiguous" HAFU? When would we see it in the Hornet?
-
The Hornet, at its lightest, is limited to 7.5g. When you start loading stores you can get down to 5 or 6. The emergency paddle will allow you to pull an extra 33% (this is bad for the airframe), so you'll need a normal G-limit of at least 6.8 to get 9G with the emergency paddle.
-
Yeah I figured given we haven't gotten a mini-update about it. Maybe given the extra time the HARM will be done by then as well.
-
Is LTWS, JDAM, and the mission card still expected for the 13th?
-
Curious, what're these pages going to do? They are the remaining pages on the Hornet, aside from UFC BU and AZ/EL which I understand to be a digital backup version of the UFC and a forward-looking format of the radar, respectively, which have no function/aren't implemented at all at the moment.

This would be super cool to have somewhere, indeed. I'm sure the team has a list somewhere internally.

Datalink SA - Number after Callsign is Distance or Fuel State?
Jak525 replied to GrEaSeLiTeNiN's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
It's fuel. Range is underneath (under BRA, second value). -
It was mentioned in the Hornet mini-update thread that in the next update we'll get a triangle symbol on hostiles on the HUD (HAFU for hostile). Just curious, does the Hornet have IRL/will we get the ambiguous, unknown, and friendly HAFU indications on the HUD as well? I saw this in a real Hornet video, an ambiguous HAFU (thick staple), so I'm pretty sure at least the ambiguous (and the hostile) symbol is in the real Hornet HUD -- https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/269535523922509826/553500209938694147/image0.png Side question if anyone knows: what's the actual difference between ambiguous and unknown?

[NO BUG] Chaff/Flir and Bra info not displaying properly
Jak525 replied to FOXFIRE TWOONE's topic in Bugs and Problems
This isn't a bug, this is how the advisories work on the LDDI I'm pretty sure. Hence why the radar is always on the right DDI. -
Hope to see a reply from ED about the IFF being backwards. With both the square/diamond on the HUD and the SA page symbology, IFF should simply return as friendly or keep as unknown. Why is IFF designating hostile at all? This isn't how IFF works. Is it going to be changed? EDIT: Wags' SA page video description says they will later on change this to incorporate NCTR and AWACS for hostile identification.
