  1. Oh, cool -- source? Didn't hear that
  2. The guards for the GEN TIE CONTROL and GAIN switches do not flip the switches back when they're closed and the switch is put in the abnormal position. Instead, the guard just goes down and the switch stays in place, graphically glitching through the guard cover.
  3. The hostile HAFU symbol shown over a hostile target also being locked by someone else who identifies it as a hostile target does not show on JHMCS. EDIT -- the DT2 X also doesn't
  4. So Wags said the Hornet is moving to a monthly schedule. Just curious, does this mean the next update will be 2 weeks from now—4 weeks from the main update 2 weeks ago—or 4 weeks from now, given we just got JDAMs?
  5. Ayy! I wrote most of that page - seriously means a lot people found it useful. Appreciate the compliments all!
  6. STT is required for NCTR. Think we might be able to NCTR with TWS when that comes later but not sure.
  7. On the SA page, friendlies are never given a threat level. On the RDR ATTK page with LTWS, friendlies are. (My guess is friendlies should not be given a threat level). Sometimes, other targets are not given a threat level on SA while they do get one on the RDR ATTK format. Sometime this even causes inconsistency between the threat level shown for a particular target on SA vs RDR ATTK. Additionally, when designating as L&S or DT2 via LTWS, the star or diamond does not show up on the HAFU on the SA format. The star does show up when you go to an STT however. Also, on the RDR ATTK page the threat level does not take into account the L&S/DT2, so if you designate the threat level 1 target as L&S on RDR ATTK the threat level 2 becomes threat level 1. I assume this is right, but this isn't reflected on the SA page (threat levels stay the same). Friendly being given a threat level on RDR ATTK while it does not on SA: Non-friendly being given a threat level while it is not given one on SA (happens not just for hostiles but unknowns too): L&S / DT2 star/diamond not showing up on SA:
  8. IIRC Wags said TOO and SP dont provide range. Only PB.
  9. Other than the gun, all A/G munitions whether or not they shoot away or drop are released via the weapons release button. The trigger does release A/A missiles, however.
  10. Yeah I meant LTOD/SET. ZTOD, CD, and ET show up on the HUD / HSI
  11. Small note this is a bug that's been reported. The hostile caret above should only show when another radar is locking it up and it also has the target designated hostile. This works when in an STT but it always shows when designated via LTWS.
  12. Ahh, it seems neither of these display on the HUD, it just sets it for the IFEI. DCS manual doesn't reflect this. Thanks!
  13. I could've sworn it was working at one point, but I could be wrong. Also, the manual does not say "coming later in Open Beta" as it normally does for not yet implemented features.
  14. This might be a bug but I think this may be due to the fact the aircraft is going so fast, the engine simply windmills to that speed regardless of power setting.
  15. Local time of day (LTOD) is not working nor is the "SET" function that's supposed to display the date. EDIT--seems the DCS F/A-18 manual just words this wrongly, it just sets the IFEI's date/local time. Nevermind!
  16. This is called "IDENT"-ing (on most transponders it's marked as this and the ATC terminology is "Callsign, ident") and pops up a thingy on the ATC's radar screen. It's usually just to confirm they know who they're talking to relative to the planes theh see on radar. Basically just there to be pressed on request of ATC.
  17. I just tried this and couldn't reproduce it. Can you post a video?
  18. It's for the transponder beacon. Setting squawk code and such. I don't know if it'll get implemented in DCS purely because it wouldn't serve any purpose. Maybe they will if they plan for squawk codes and the like to be a thing with the eventual ATC overhaul.
  19. I'm hoping for JDAMs but not sure. In the next monthly update (IDK if it's 3 or 4 weeks from now) I'm hoping for HARM PB mode and pullback, and radar MSI, plus JDAMs if we don't get them on the 10th. Who knows of course but I think that's realistic given they've been working on the HARM PB and pullback mode for quite a bit now, and Wags said MSI is next for the radar.
  20. This is likely because your waypoint is placed at a point where the elevation is 98ft MSL. Can't put a waypoint under the ground in the ME I guess (although you can in the plane quite sure).
  21. This is pretty much what I'm thinking. Don't forget more radar functions like the few remaining buttons in RWS, then TWS and VS. I believe coming next is the multi sensor integration (MSI) feature.
  22. As I said, Pre-Briefed mode and the pullback function is left to do. We have SP (without pullback) and TOO modes rn.
  23. Wags has said the engineer assigned to the TGP is also assigned to HARMs, so TGP will come right after HARMs. For HARMs, Pre-Briefed mode and the pullback function is left.
  24. If you're not getting a diamond there is a separate problem. Can you assign anything else as TDC priority? Try the RDR ATTK page, for example.
  25. There is also an ETA in HH:MM:SS (not time, but a countdown) displayed on the HSI format in the upper right corner.
