Former Military then Airline pilot friend of mine retired recently. His remark of "my body started to give up, not my brain, I can still recite the Engine Starting Checklist from memory for a Jaguar and what to do if one of them catches fire, and i last flew one 35 years ago!!" made me smile.

Mrs Jaguar was just doing the banking and noticed i had pre ordered the Carrier. Don't think she was to amused when her remark of "Sometimes I think you love that game more than me" was met with "Your dead wrong about that, it's not sometimes!"

We have already had a discount for pre-ordering so that would be a tad unfair. Im in the over 50 club rapidly approaching the 60 club to lol.

Third party product as good as it is. Nothing to to do with ED or anyone else other than the developer. ED have always been clear at the POS who the developer of a particular module is. Talk to Razbam about crew assistance etc.

Thought so, Wags was being diplomatic and careful in his reply. He cant promise what another developer is going to deliver, only the developer concerned can do that.

Where has it been stated from an official source you need CA to steer this new carrier? I agree though with its arrival all the broken things on the Stennis will now not be fixed. This Carrier is being heavily discounted for a reason, part of that is get everyone on board this new carrier and the bugs on the Stennis will be forgotten about. I have to say i am also very sceptical about the one video we have seen about the new carrier. I doubt we will ever see the amount of detail in that video.

I had the same issue. My DCS takes up 154 GB and with each update gets bigger. I read somewhere the way it was coded originally is the reason it is as big as it is. The Carrier (I know it's an assumption) will not be a small download. DCS now lives on a HD, I can't justify buying a larger SSD for a game.

It is not rocket science. 1. It will be released sometime in the future when it is ready to be, by the end of Q1 2020 according to the news release. 2. The price is yet to be announced. 3. A pre order discount will be offered. 4. F-18 module owners will be offered a discount but not as well as the pre order discount. What else would you exactly like to know? What colour underwear the chief developer wears on a Tuesday maybe? ED give out far more info and give it out on a far more regular basis than many others. Yes they are trying to sell a product to a niche and smaller market than the likes of Codemasters etc, but cut them a break, flaming them does noone any good.

Can't see it, they know it has been bugged for ages. If they were going to remove it they surely would have done so by now. I agree constant negative criticism of the state of the feature may change their minds.

If it is their for ED's use, and not "our entertainment" they would not have put an ability too watch or save tracks in the Menu. It is broken and needs fixing, wether ED see the need to do so is the question. I think its a really bad advert for the game.

No biggie but since i installed this module i am getting run time errors on some occasions and a crash to Desktop when i press quit to end a flight.

I purchased the F18 early access and was not disappointed. Different story for the F-16 early access for me. Very little on the screens other than placeholders, and a cockpit where lots of things do not work. Lack of exterior lights still puzzles me as to why you would do that. Every new car owner looks outside first so do DCS F-16 drivers. If i was new to DCS and purchased it, I would be one unhappy bear. Bottom line it was released for me, way to early. The other problem is with so much not working, your going to remember the bits you want fixed and not the bits that work.

I have a 100mbps network connection, and the User File download speeds I get are now bordering on the ridiculous. Example, an 18Mb file just took over 8 minutes to download. Am i doing something wrong? Or that is all you will get from that section of the website. Updates etc are fine, they download regularly around the 90Mbps mark.

Very surprised to read this, the RAF Jaguar provided Tacan range and ILS range on the HUD back in the 70's! Is it a feature just not implemented yet because i kind of find it hard to believe real F-16's fly around in shitty weather trying to fly ILS approaches with steerpoint info only displayed on the HUD.

So by turning the ILS volume down i am actually turning it off. Useful to know, thanks.

Is it possible to set the ILS range to touchdown on the HUD? I know how to set up the ILS/Tacan in so far as getting them to lock on and selecting the ILS on the HSI, but all i get on the HUD is range info for the selected steer point, not the ILS. I also keep turning the ILS off and i do not know how i am doing it lol. Thanks for your help.

Same here, even clean wing. Anyone any idea why? I will say i am a little disappointed with the state of the early access F-16, the F-18 was a lot more finished on initial release. I like ED and their products but the F-16 has been released IMHO a little to early.

I followed the video wags did virtually frame by frame, but i cant get the external lights to come on, i am not leaving the pits till i do lol, I must be missing something but can anyone help please??

Back up your mods and do a DCS clean up/repair. Sounds like your failing the integrity check.

Sorry for the noob question but i am sadly going to have to move DCS from its home on my 256gb SSD to a secondary hard drive. It simply has taken up to much space. I am guessing i cant simply move the ED folder to its new home so was wondering whats the best way to do it is. I have a good internet connection so can re-download if needed but i just wondered if there was an easier way. Thank you.

Whenever I start from the pits my wing-men taxy at breakneck speed then taxy with their nose under then engines of my F18, this cant be normal surely? I also noticed the ladder was down on my FA18 this evening (cold start) I can put it away by pressing the volume up key on my keyboard (not good)but it wont come down again. it also losses textures if you move around it or flaps about.
