Could be... I have both versions installed. If I fly exactly the same mission exactly same settings (only minutes apart) I find BS1 far more easier to fly. I mean big difference. And my Logitech 3D Extreme is not in a good shape anymore...

Server went down both times. Sorry. Did not just turn it off. Second time half of my game world went "brown" as if if there was another brownish clean surface layer on top of the world covering everything else. Funny. It's a big mission, maybe that's the reason...

Triggers: Boolean Conditions Precedence?
yallu replied to yallu's topic in User Created Missions General
That was quick. Thanks. I wish there was a way to add brackets :). Like so: ([x] Condition1 [ ]) OR ([ ] Condition2 [ ]) OR ([ ] Condition3 [ ]) OR ([ ] Condition4 [x]) ([ ] Condition5 [ ]) -
Just a quickie... Cond1 OR Cond2 OR Cond3 Cond4 How is this evaluated? Cond1 OR Cond2 OR (Cond3 AND Cond4) or ((Cond1 OR Cond2) OR Cond3) AND Cond4 Or something else... Big difference. TIA.

I myself see no difference in trimming with multiple controllers connected/unconnected.

Heh, good to hear it works for you. I do have my Logitech Momo pedals connected all the time. Not the wheel as it gets in the way. But hmm... I can try - but I wonder... How come it doesn't bother BS1 but only BS2... If that's the case. I'll test it though. :) EDIT: Errm... I do have Momo but it's not connected. But my Saitek X65 is... I use it for DCS A-10C (Logitech for BS).

Now this ain't a complaint. Just my subjective observations. I have both BS1 and BS2 installed. Just tried them with exactly same joystick config (no curvatures, no deadzone, central trimming mode on, BS2 with FFB off as BS1 doesn't have that option, same Logitech Extreme 3D Pro stick). The trimming and auto-hover in BS1 vs BS2 are completely different. BS1 is almost arcadish easy compared to BS2. Trimming in BS1 feels like natural and you don't even have to think about it. On the other hand, trimming in BS2... I don't know, I can't say it's easy. Same goes for auto-hover. BS1 works like a charm and BS2 doesn't. Like I said, I'm not complaining. Maybe BS2 is more accurate simulation of trimming. But they aren't the same in BS1 and BS2. It's obvious. Something has changed dramatically (not a minor, subtle change). Be that direct change or indirect side-effect of some other change(s). At least for me that is true.

A little more about Accusim: http://www.avsim.com/pages/0112/A2A/B377.html (for those interested)

Hmm... I don't think my eBook device has a pointing mechanism. Unless I've missed something.

I would like to see the manuals page numbering changed from Chapter-PageNumber format to simply PageNumber. 2-9 -> 35, for example. Or at least add the real page number on table of contents. I often use eBook reader to read the manuals and it takes about 2-3 seconds to turn a page - and it has no search... The only way to go quickly to a certain page is using "Go To Page #" function. But there are no running page numbers in the manual/table of contents... Possible? Thanks :).

Realism: A2A wins; Fun: DCS wins. And DCS ain't going to be far behind in realism either... That's my guess.

My experience is it seems to work not very well. Triggers are easily double clicked hidden/not hidden in the triggers list, but with 1.1.1.1 at least it seems to be hard to get the unit list to recognize the double click. Sometimes it does, sometimes not. Same experience?

What next? The very first thing: a dedicated forum section for the upcoming "Combined Arms" addon... Or?

So I've been giving lessons on how to get started with A-10C. Just the basic stuff: cold & dark start, take-off, navigation, ILS landing, radios, basic TGP/weapons etc. Nothing fancy yet (cause I have to learn it myself first). Yesterday I was having a training flight with a couple of new trainees. All went reasonably well (despite one of the trainees opening and loosing his canopy at almost 10000 ft) - until we were making a loose formation landing... I landed first, while i was rolling I thought I'd delay my braking a little to allow more space for the trainees behind me. I then pushed L-CTRL (my TS3 push-to-talk) to remind trainees of proper landing procedures. Soon I noticed I'd better start braking myself as well... So I pressed W. Big mistake . At least if you're still holding L-CTRL down... Afterwards I checked from the key maps: L-CTRL+W is Jettison Weapons. Needless to say, the trainees behind me didn't appreciate the show. One of the bombs I was still carrying exploded behind me leaving a nice crater on the runway crashing a trainee... :megalol: But then again, I guess they asked for it. That's what you get when you score more than your instructor... :P

Thanks for all the replies. I'm still looking for the one that was attached in these forums. Simply because it might have some A-10C specific customizations (not sure though). Lesson learned though: see something interesting? Sub it. Immediately. :)

A bit dull topic, but... I know there was a thread here that had instructions how to do something like an E6B cardboard pilot computer. I just can't find proper keywords to locate the thread again. It was in a PDF attachment - I think. Maybe someone has it subbed and could give me the link? Thanks...

How To: Build a A-10 flight panel controller
yallu replied to TigersharkBAS's topic in Home Cockpits
 That gave me an idea how to get rid of my wife sooner... :P Seriously though... There's at least two options how to proceed: 1) Build small panels one by one over time 2) Build the whole left or right console at once as a single large structure The X-Key Matrix would suite better for the latter, right? A bit academic for me as I don't currently have the room for it so it's small panels only... But still, you never know... -
How To: Build a A-10 flight panel controller
yallu replied to TigersharkBAS's topic in Home Cockpits
What a great tutorial. I have no experience or even any knowledge of doing something like that but I think I could do it easy following this tutorial. I was wondering though... How would you use something like: http://xkeys.com/custom/xkmatrix.php to do the same? Would it be better option/worse option? Maybe better if I was to create most of a left/right console as a single unit, or? How would you wire something like that? Looks a lot harder than the USB controller... -
Hmm... Not lua developer myself, but it seems that the order of the items is not guaranteed with associative tables. Nothing you can do prolly. Here's samples how to overcome (I think), but that's something ED should do when reading the table in the templates options: http://lua-users.org/wiki/OrderedAssociativeTable Or?

Thank you! Is there a way to sort the templates so that they appear in alphabetical order, such as: STB80 HQ STB80 Supply Platoon STB80 Tank Company 1 STB80 Tank Company 2 STB80 Tank Company 3 At least for me, they seem to be scattered all over in the list ATM. I'd do it myself, but I'm not sure how to "block" sort in Notepad++... Any ideas?

I have REX in FSX. I like it a lot. However, it's overdone IMHO. It's more about "spectacular" and less about "realism". That's just my opinion...

AutonymouS Self Defending Organic Missiles, or ASSDOM's are missing from the game. Any chance of getting those implemented? WTF!? :pilotfly: Yes, I need :helpsmilie: ...

I'd say: Red/CAS/Jet=Su-25 Red/CAS/Helo=Ka-50 Red/(BAR)CAP/Jet=one of the 4th generation multirole fighters Blue/CAS/Jet=A-10C Blue/CAS/Helo=AH-64 Blue/(BAR)CAP/Jet=one of the 4th generation multirole fighters After this... Bring on persistent multiplayer war... :D

Ok, I get it, thank you. A sticky might be in order for a little while to state which versions are online compatible together - and which are not even planned to be with possible later patches. For us less frequent visitors, or what do you think? Especially now that new versions are released/being released soon.
