  1. Hey Chazz, do you like the skin with a faded look or do you like a newer look. Is there anything that you can see that might make it look better. Since you are the only one who seems to have any input, I'll leave that to you.
  2. I think I'm happy with the look of this skin now. I haven't been getting much feedback so I have to go with what I've got. I added a German roundel to the top of the cockpit which I noticed in that NH-90 photo in Cobras post. I adjusted the tone of the skin to match it as well. I can't think of anything else to add or change. I'm going to wait a couple of days before I post this just in case anyone else has any input. I really like it and it looks awesome in the game. Here is what it looks like. ;)
  3. A small tip I have for you is to put the picture above into photoshop and use the eyedropper tool to grab the colours off the photo to match the colour exactly to your skin. This way you are not trying to guess what the colour is and eyeball it. I don't know if you knew this already but I thought I would point that out. Can't wait to see the finished product. I like the look of German skins.
  4. Well I lightened up the camo a bit and tried to match the photo above. I also turned off the Hard Light to give it a newer look. heres some screenshots. Tell me what you think.
  5. The reason I keep the hard lights on is because it gives the paint job a more worn out appearance. If you look at older aircraft in real life they have that kinda worn out appearance. But I have noticed that with these german helicopters on this page they don't seem to look as worn out so I will turn that off. After all the pictures I have on this page are of newer aircraft. But if you want one that looks more battle worn, I would suggest keeping hard lights on. After all paint does fade after time and weathering. I'll work on two types, one new and one faded. Thanks for the tip.
  6. Hey thanks for the picture. That is perfect. I will try to match it up.
  7. Yeah you are right. I will fiddle with it some more. It is hard to get the right colour when the picture I have is showing the shady side of the Tiger. Thanks for the input.
  8. Here is a work in progress. I designed this skin after the German Tiger camo sheme. Here are some screenshots and the Tiger I got my inspiration from. Tell me what you guys think.
  9. I got error messages every time I put .tga files in the .cdds file so I stopped doing it. I don't use those numbers anyways because Canadian aircraft don't have them, that is a Russian thing. If you want to add those numbers why dont you just create a layer with Photoshop and add it to the bitmap file.
  10. Well, I've uploaded these skins to www.Lockonfiles.com Just waiting for verification. I uploaded the Clean and the Dirty version. Please give me some feedback as to what you think of these skins as I have spent alot of time on these skins. Thankyou Enjoy
  11. You bet! As soon as I'm finished with it.
  12. I have almost wrapped this one up. Here is a screenshot and an actual Danish army Helo.
  13. How many people here from Denmark? Here is another skin I've been working on by request. If I get enough interest I'll post it. Here are some screenshots. ;)
  14. Yeah that sucks. I guess I'll have to live with that. Thanks for the info.
  15. Hey Moose I got a quick question for you. How do you alter the exhaust nozzles? I can't find the .bmp file that deals with those. I would like to change the colour of them to the brown I'm using in this skin but I can't locate it.
  16. Here is the completed product. I have a clean version for airfields and a dirty version for the FARPS. I have posted them both to www.Lockonfiles.com They are just waiting for verification. ***A special note, you MUST install Vik Vaughns Slovakia skin FIRST before installing these skins or they will not work. His skin has already modified the db_countries.lua file in the game to allow for Canada to be KA-50 selectable*** Here are some screenshots of the two versions. ;) Attached Thumbnails
  17. Here is the almost completed product. I have a clean version for airfields and a dirty version for the FARPS. I will be posting them both to www.Lockonfiles.com when I feel it is ready. ***A special note, you MUST install Vik Vaughns Slovakia skin FIRST before installing these skins or they will not work. His skin has already modified the db_countries.lua file in the game to allow for Canada to be KA-50 selectable*** Here are some screenshots of the two versions. ;)
  18. I just took a look at Vik Vaghns skin file for Slovakia and found that he has his own db_countries.lua file attached to the skin. This enables the Ka-50 in Canada. But he only enabled it for Canada. So in order for my skin to work you have to have Vik Vaughns skin installed first before mine. We have to rewrite the db_countries.lua file to enable the KA-50 in all of the countries. Then post that as a mod required before installing any skins. That is why if you install Vik Vaughns skin after you already have skins installed it will rewrite the db_countries.lua to only have his skin installed. We need to make a special skins mod or just ask Skypat to have it already installed with the installation of modman to have all countries KA-50 enabled.
  19. Thats wierd. It totally runs fine on my end. Do you have Vik vaughns slovak download installed before you install mine? Maybe you need that mod because it configures that skin to play in canada which opens up a spot in the db_countries.lua for the ka-50. I had it installed before I played my skins.
  20. I'm dumbfounded. I used your tutorial, which is an excellent tutorial by the way, to make these skins Canada flyable. All I did was enter the Canada country code in the .lma7 file here. country = { YOUR COUNTRY CODE } You can find your country code at this location. C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Scripts\Database\db_countries.lua Just open up the .lua file and scroll down to your preferred country and copy the country code from the .lua. Then paste it in your .lma7 file in the correct spot. Thats it, simple as that. I wonder if you were having a problem due to using lower versions of modman. I started my skinning with version 7.1.1.0 and have had no problems. Maybe there is a bug in previous versions. At any rate, due to your tutorial, modman, black shark templates, and Adobe Photoshop Elements 7, skinning is an absolute cinch. Thanks to Skypat and RCN_Moose.
  21. I worked with it a little more because I thought that the brown was a little too dark so I lightened it up. Now I think it matches the colours of the picture I used pretty closely. ;)
  22. I've been working with this skin and created a dirty version as well. I kinda like the dirty version. Here are some screenshots. ;)
  23. The reason you don't put the numbers file in the cdds is because it is a .tga file. The cdds studio program does not recognize .tga files, it only recognizes .bmp files. If you try to put the numbers file in there, you will get an error. I'm glad you sorted out your problem though.
  24. You don't have to save the numbers tga file in your cdds. I never do and they have turned out perfect. I am curious, are you saving all your files as 24 bit .bmp files? If you leave it at 32 bit, you will get an error when creating cdds files. Make sure that all the files you put in to your cdds are 24 bit .bmp . Are you getting any errors when creating your cdds? There should be no errors posted before you hit any key. Make sure 11 out of 11 files are getting loaded.
  25. Canadian Olive Drab camo on its way I've almost completed another Canadian camo skin. This one is based on the CH-146 Griffon helicopters being used in Afghanistan as escorts for our CH-147D Chinooks. Here is a teaser photo. It will be another Canadian country flyable. Modman 7.1.1.0 compatible. ;) Attached Thumbnails
