  1. I totally think that you should get your french DVD Skypat. You have done this community a great service with your mods. ED should send you a free French collectors edition for your inconvenience. Come on ED you owe him that much! :noexpression:

  12. I think your comment is a little off base. I'm sure that one time while using this forum you have placed threads in the wrong place one time or another. You were a newbie at one time as well. You got to remember, DCS just came onto store shelves in North America, so we have got a brand new batch of newbies that are trying to learn this sim. They are going to flood this forum with a lot of old questions that have already been answered. There are a lot of newbies out there that have probably never been on a forum until now. They will learn just as you have where to put their threads. I think you need to cut them some slack and let the Mods deal with placing threads in their proper places. If you don't feel like reading or answering a thread just skip past it. :music_whistling:

  16. Can't wait to see the finished product Crazy.
  17. It wasn't that I wasn't used to it. I've been using Cachya for 2 months and have gotten the hang of the 6dof no problem. It works the same as Track IR. The thing I found with Track IR, is that it wasn't better than Cachya or Freetrack. I expected that since TrackIR was almost $200, that it would be far superior to the Cachya program. And after testing TrackIR, I was very disappointed in how well it worked. I think they are charging way too much for their product when there are other alternatives out there that are WAY cheaper. And what you said about creating a profile to get it the way you want, it is the same with Cachya. I had to fiddle with it for about 2 hours to get it to the point where it works almost flawless. My buddy has had his for a while so hes already got his profile figured out. It still did not work better than my Cachya, and I use Cachya in a brighter room. I played with his setup for a while and the TrackIR was bouncing all over the place and not looking where I wanted to half of the time. I never have to reset the view to center when using Cachya. It always brings my view back to center when I look forward. I had to reset the view to center like 8 times when I was using the Track IR setup.
  18. I just tried a friends Track IR and was very disapointed in it. I use a program called cachya that utilizes a webcam to track head movements and its only 14 bucks. The cachya program seemed to me, to be more accurate with head movements than Track IR. When I was using Track IR the display was bouncing around alot and I couldn't look up very well. It only went so high. It wasn't very smooth at all. It was smooth occasionally, but then it would just start bouncing around again like crazy. I had to recenter the view 8 times in a very short flight. I almost crashed three times because the view all of a sudden just looked down and to the right on its own. My Cachya program is very fluid in its movements and I can look where ever I want. I get the occasional bounciness with cachya, depending on how much light is in the room, but all in all it seem to run alot better to me than Track IR. I was a little disapointed in it because I thought that for 200 bucks, the program should work flawlessly. Unfortunately, thats not the case. Don't waste your money on track IR guys, when you can get other programs out there that work just as well, if not better for alot cheaper, such as Cachya or Freetrack. I repeat, don't waste your money!! :pilotfly: Cachya only requires a Webcam, and the Cachya program which is $14.99 I believe Freetrack is a free program that uses a webcam as well. But it requires some materials that bring it over the $14.99 mark as far as I know.
  19. The only way I know is online through the DCS website. I ordered it through them a while back and had no problems with it. You don't get the manual with the boxed package anyways, so you might as well just order it online.
  20. Nice to see a few people from Abbotsford here!!
  21. You from Abbotsford/Chilliwack area as well? I already went to Future shop in Abbotsford as well as EB. They had never heard of it either. I had to show the guy at Future Shop the website so he would know what I was talking about. I told him to make sure they get this game in.
  22. No need to say more, my sentiments exactly. Bring on the Apache!!
  23. Thats no problem, that is what forums are for. Of course you will get the occasional rude person that will tell you to RTFM, because they are either too lazy or too cranky to offer a hand. But fortunately there is always someone out there willing to help. Glad I could help.
  24. Actually that is a built in feature. If you press it once, it stops the cursor in that spot. If you hit it again, it switches to scan mode and it scans side to side. Of course, hitting it a third time will stop the cursor again. You can adjust the scan speed with the knob on the right console. This way you don't have to manually move the shkval back and forth to scan the area ahead. ;)
  25. Hey, thanks for finding that. I just noticed I have that same problem in some of my skins.
