English Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2 Now Available
The Flying Goose replied to Wags's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Muahahahaha, at last!:pilotfly: Birds!!!.bmp -
Ohhh, Trujilostm! you did that? I actually looked at the wiki page today and wondered why only some aircraft were included and nothing was written. I thought it odd of ED to do something like that. Glad I could make a remark that has absolutely zero value to this conversation btw  but at least life makes more sense to me now :)

I believe I heard it is about 2gb;)

I see what you mean and its definitely a little different. I don't know about A-10 because to me(I may be wrong) the wings look a little too slanted forward. Can't tell you if it's civ or military but if this is also on Google earth, it'll tell you when the photo was taken. That'll probably help to rule in or out if it is military. Not to shoot you down but if I had to guess I'd say its civilian. Maybe I'm wrong, who knows? Good Find!

Finished! Lucky Number 160:smartass: -
Thanks guys for all of this. Just my luck I'd get in the way:doh:. Also, about the Kiowa you're probably right about it being designed to go on the other side, AlphaOneSix. It sure is weird lookin though :disgust: (<- JK lol)

Tonight I was flying the Clear Tkvarcheli mission. As those of you who know the mission might know, after eliminating some of the enemy, an OH-58 pops up to attack the FARP. At that point the friendly russian forces start launching strela missiles at the helo. I being my fun loving self (:P) decided to go in with guns old school style. Just then I'm in a fireball and going down fast. I manged to pause at the explosion and take some screens. Sure enough as I knew there were no enemy air defences near by and it was the Strela who shot me down. So my point/ question is, is am I just that unlucky or is this realistic for the missile to momentarily lose lock on the Kiowa and then take lock on poor ol' me? if any thing it's a funny story and the pics tell a story themself. and by the way, the last pic is of the Kiowa with gun and ammo belt, but does where the ammo comes out of (the boxy thing) look right?

What in Nevada is this, anyways???
The Flying Goose replied to The Flying Goose's topic in Military and Aviation
Cool man, tbh I was just wonderin about the one in Nevada -
Hey, I know you guys asked for no sat pics so I figured I'd point out the obvious and mention tht bing.com offers birds-eye views of Nellis. I just checked them out and for all I know they could be of zero use at all, but still they offer close up angled pics. just figured I'd throw it out there. Gl on the Nellis Project :)

Ay, I see what you're saying Deadman, but whenever I type in the coords I get the Red "A" and a nice green arrow at the actual location. Even if for some reason that does not happen to you, you should be able to go maybe some 30 miles north to find the actaul range :) -

more Nevada fun (even tough I doubt anyone really cares, lol) @ 37.113652,-116.053991. No mysteries here... the big crater farthest north is site of the Sedan nuclear testing. Site known as Area 10. This as much as I'll get off topic in the Reality/Military and aviation for all the Moderators out there ;) -

Ok, so a simple training range. Thank you Wags:) @Deadman where do you see that this is Tonapah Test Range? From what I see Tonapah Test Range is away to the south. Maybe you are correct, however where it actually says the range is, is some 20-30 mi. south. Nonetheless, back to you, Mr. Wagner (or whomever else feels inclined enough) not to be pushy, but maybe you can tell me this, at 37.233745,-115.798817, what is this? There are a few big jets, maybe 737's, a couple of military jets on the more Northwest area, and what might just be a Black Hawk. There are also a few big radars set up (check out the shadows). Lastly it looks like there is something being constructed. The only reason I wonder is because of the mysteriousness as there are no labels set up on google :smilewink: Edit: this is Groom Lake aka Area 51 if not mistaken... figures -

No one has any input? It would be really cool to know. Beggers can't be choosers I guess. Still, I'm calling on all you experts;) -

Yeah, lol, that is just right:megalol: -
Basically it started off as browsing Google maps in the Nevada Desert area when I stumbeled on a small, untitled dirt airstrip with no basic things you'd expect to see at an airfield like ATC or barracks or fuel. Secondly, there were several aircraft which appeared to be stationary. An aircraft sitting at the parking area appeared to be an A-10. So, as I'm almost 110% positive that this is not any sort of real airstrip, what is it?:helpsmilie:. Is it some sort of Red Flag training airfield to attack? See for yourself by Googling 37.403983,-116.23827 in goolge maps. Thank you for any feedback:)
