Just go at subsim and get the right mods. Last time I installed it with mods it was nice to play. Especially TheDarkWraith's mod is helpful; you can even get the SH4 interface with it.

I find the following game mod fun: destruction / start min (1500 pt) win min (1000 pt.). Like this you get short skirmishes where really each unit counts. I don't like the conquest mod so much because it leaves to much freespace for unrealistic tactics (bunny hopping around the map). I play like this with AI, checked yesterday and there were not so many servers online. Edit: PS: after the last patch BMP's are the new black.. if you know what I mean
