I can speak for 3ds max: 1. the more cores the better 2. RAM: above 8 (WIN 64 evidently) 16 is welcomed. 3. Nvidia supports an alternative rendering method (iray) but not a show stopper for ATI users.

The texture loading in FC is not so much of a problem in comparison to FSX. In my opinion it won`t make much of a difference where you install.. both your HDD have 7200 RPM..You can still install on the other one to sleep better.. Cheers, welcome to the forums

My opinion: Your Cpu has only 2.8 ghz it is too slow for dcs. Best is if you get a cpu you can oc to 4 ghz. Cores above 2. Where to buy componets from, depends where you are... I'm also building now, and bought everything from amzon. Ps: welcome to the forum.

Just type some numbers, and let descriptions like "really big" and "a whole country-big" out: Swiss has 41K sqkm. DCS world is 330K sqkm (since A-10 even bigger).. Don`t know the numbers of WOP and ROF but don`t know if WOP has 1K sqkm..? And yes, for jets this is necessary. And yes WOP does`t need to compute advanced flight models and so on..
