  1. MWD2 That is fantastic! I love the path to the Hornet and then the NATO tech or stolen NATO tech. hehehehhe Dehuman, you are correct. Last night she wanted to go clothes shopping, however she was sneaky. She asked if I would go help her pick out some new liveries.
  2. In case anyone else runs into this. I had to update to the latest version and then it worked.
  3. So there is a cure.....
  4. Yurgon, never let it be said I am not willing to take the advice of others. :) I now have 8 things I have no idea how to fly. P.s. My girlfriend hates you :)
  5. I followed your advice and looked at the purchase detail lit. I have 9 that have serial numbers listed but the Gazelle shows Keyless in that column. I'll submit a ticket to DCS because every time I start DCS the activation window pops up. Thank you for the guidance.
  6. My birthday is a few days away and they plop down a sale. I decide I am only going to buy one thing....... I am firmly resolute..... I shall not waiver from my decision...... I.... will.... not.... bend...... I grabbed the Spitfire...... Normandy map and WWII Pack..... Huey.... Gazelle..... Argo Campaign...... I hang my head in shame as I repeatedly mumble. I will not buy the Viggen. I will not buy the Viggen..... Anyone know of any good DCS 12 step programs?
  7. Good afternoon. I have checked the forums and can't find an answer so I am asking for your help. I bought the Gazelle and it is listed as a keyless product assigned to my login ID. However during installation it is asking for an activation key. I received one in email for the Huey but not the Gazelle. What am I missing. Your assistance is appreciated.
  8. Good afternoon all. I need some assistance if anyone is willing.... I have the Cougars and I have the second monitor that was recommended. Created the .lua file and the MFD's export and appear as planned. In Windows 10 I have the second monitor set up and can move the mouse back and forth between the two even when flying DCS. The issue is that I can not get the MFD's to appear on the second screen. I moved them down slowly and have the left MFDat the very bottom on the main cockpit screen but it doesn't show on the secondary monitor. I can put my mouse on it and pull straight down and the mouse appears but the MFD now. My DCS resolution is set at 3840 x 2160 I'm sorry to bother y'all with this but I'm stumped and after 5.5 hours of trying resolution changes and such and I am getting nowhere. Any wisdom is appreciated
  9. Excellent Slug. I will admit that I like the old paint scheme we had when I was in SCANG, but any old Fox will make me happy :) Yip, Yip, Yip
  10. What time do you fly?
  11. Hi guys. OK color me stupid. I'm an old codger with and I am absolutely lost on where to even begin with lua files and such. I have 2 cougar MFD's and the second monitor. Is there somewhere with a simple "Idiot's Guide" that says: 1) Turn on monitor 2) Open file blah blah blah 3) Enter "Mickey loves Minnie" on line blah blah 4) Scratch your nose 5) etc... Yeah I am that lost, confused and stupid :)
  12. Any skinners out there willing to be compensated to make an old man a SCANG skin when it arrives?
  13. Hola. I am a 51 year old South Pole penguin, who read Johnathon Livingston Seagull as a kid, and have been drunk on aviation ever since. I grew up in South Carolina flying with my father all over and went into the USAF (C-141 DCC) after HS to pay for college. Spent an additional tour with the SCANG (F-16C B50 LCC) while I attended the real U.S.C. :megalol: I flew in Warbirds for approximately 20 years and attended multiple conventions. I love going to Oshkosh and will read and watch anything aviation related. I've been away from flight sims for a few years based on mostly health issues and honestly thought they were dead. Then in November I saw a Reapers video on Youtube and started shopping for computers. Got the rig shown below for the sole purpose of flying DCS :pilotfly:. and it's been worth every penny. I'm hoping to find a fun and active squadron to join but I work in the evenings so it will likely have to be a Euro squadron for conducive flight times. ::poof::
  14. Good afternoon all. I am fairly new to DCS but have long enjoyed flight simming, going back well over 25 years. One of the things I have always enjoyed, in particular in Warbirds and at the WB conventions was hearing the "So there I was....." tales. So we are gonna pretend this post the is the "Wild Boar Bar" on Gilligan's Airfield. So hunker up to the bar, post a screenshot of your Log book and tell us your favorite "So there I was..." story and what medal was the toughest to earn. First rounds on me.
  15. Yup. So my quest today is to find a fun and engaging squadron that flies during my time frame and will allow this old guy to tag along. Heck I'll even change my call sign to "Dead Weight" to acknowledge my place in the food chain. :)
  16. Hmmmmm. I'll see if I can figure out how you did that Meteop. I have a 55' inch and it's bloody beautiful in 4k. I am very lucky with the rig I'm running, I received it for Christmas and it is a i9 with a 2080 ti so even with everything maxed out it runs like glass. Rene, I can promise you that whoever put the next gen VR out with decent resolution, I'll probably ditch my TV/Monitor all together. The VR experience is second to none for immersion, but having the resolution... I was able to spot Boogies yesterday while flying from much further than in VR and as a result able to put some strategery (Thank you George Bush for that made up word :) ) into my engagements. So Meteop how did you build your monitor?
  17. Yup, worked like a charm. See I told you I was an idiot. I'm one of those Equatorial penguins, the allure of hammocks and umbrella drinks far weighed the ice bergs and Orcas.
  18. You are correct. She tried to learn the Pony from Daddy, Steve Zarifis, but fell in love with the ki-43 and flew it all cycle long. I will let her know that you remember her. that will make her day. She alway amde me laugh, we'de be late war and the runway would fill with 51-D's Franks, Doras and one little Ki plopped in the middle :)
  19. DOH!!! I have been looking under "Campaigns" on the DCS main menu. they are under missions. Told ya I was an idiot :) Thank y'all. I'm off to the desert
  20. Hmmmm. Thought I tried that. Let me try again.
  21. Hey Val. I remember you. I was with the Swamp Foxes. With Flyp, Brro, Geezer and the gang.
  22. I am very sorry to be a bother but I am stumped. I have googled, and poured through the forums and can't find a simple "How to install" the dynamic campaigns. I have purchased all of the ED campaigns, except helos, and they run great. I even downloaded a few players campaigns and they work. But the secret behind the deadly fishes dynamic campaigns eludes me. Can anyone point me to a simple "How to post" because I can't find one. Thank you
  23. Not feeling like it was me against the world. I flew Warbirds from IEN for almost 20 years and the feeling of always being a part of something bigger than me is what always kept my wife, yup she flew too, flying. The offline campaigns and missions, though there are "automated friendlies", I still felt like it was simply me running a circuit. Yesterday there was a group of about 8 of us and we flew together for almost 8 hours on the same server. The teamwork began to gel and soon we had CAP, SEAD and PHDs (Post Hole Diggers). It was that sense of working together and being a part of something and our success or failure depending on all of us working together. It reminded me of how much I miss the social aspect of Warbirds and gave me a glimpse of how really cool DCS can be. I haven't been able to figure out how to install the "Through the Inferno" dynamic campaigns yet, I have them all downloaded just can't get them working, so maybe that will be more engaging offline. Or maybe I need to find a squadron that flies during the morning US hours and join, but I'm just learning so I don't think I am good enough yet to be an asset, however I have mastered the art of being a detriment :). Hope that answers y'alls questions.
  24. Spent the day playing online on a couple of servers and WOW! What a marvelously different experience. Looks like next week just got booked solid :)
  25. Good stuff. I have been away for a few days but today the Track IR went up, I had to get a USB extension cord, but I have been tinkering with it in ED and DCS. I have to say that I am very impressed and actually kinda giddy. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing that compares to the VR experience but sitting here in my game room, with all lights off and the 55 inch 4k DCS on with this TI thing is way cooler than I expected. I know I will end up doing a bit of both, the Track IR will be the mainstay for ED, but boy oh boy am I torn on DCS. I love the resolution but I love the VR. So in other words now I'm even more torn :) Oh am I worthless
