Wowsers!! That's fantastic

planes that you would like to see in DCS?
Capn Penguin replied to Erich Alfred Hartmann's topic in DCS Core Wish List
B-17 with all crew positions or ability to jump into them. Back in the warbirds days, many an hour was spent with 6 -8 Swano Foxes tootling around in a B-17 with almost every position manned. -
Sure IDAC just shoot me an email or PM.

AC-130. But heck I'd like the ability to crawl into an AWACS and be the CC for a server. :) Outside of that in modern terms a Predator operating as a laser designator for strike groups. Imagine sitting at your computer simming sitting at a computer flying a predator. :) Turn the clock back, I would really enjoy some WWII Pacific stuff. SBD, TBM, A6m etc. Ok back to my Geritol shake and Murder she wrote :).

Fulda gap area possibly? We have a barn full of 80's / 90's jets to support or stop the armored red horde pouring into Germany.

Just an update. I heard from Randy at Oculus and they beliEve it to be a hardware issue with my specific headset and he requested I exchange it for .

For the F-18? Now I'm really going to put my dunce hat on. I looked for a good 30 minutes going through every line of the F-18 controls file. hehehehehe, Thanks guys, I am such an idiot hehehehehe. I'll go dig through there again. I would like to publicly state that my ignorance is in no way a reflection of the South Carolina Public Education System.... they learned me gooood. :)

I apologize for the question in advance. I have searched and emailed TM tech support before bothering y'all so I'm not just being lazy :). I had the epiphany to map my left mouse button to the joystick. Searched and found the process. played around with the TARGET thingy and have it figured out, but when I try to load the "profile" I get the error below. First I thought it was yet another display of my extreme incompetence, but alas, I tried to load a profile file from the DCS site and received the same filter error. Any wisdom is appreciated.

Delevero, you get a gold star. That was fantastic super sleuth work. Well done man

Very quick update if anyone else has this problem and thanks to all those who offered suggestions here or through PM. My S is working again and it's the strangest fix. I had to disable the Rift Audio and it works great in DCS, but as soon as the Rift audio is turned on it will crash when the cymbals reach their crescendo every time. Thank again to all and if anyone has the issue I was having toss this out as a possible solution.

Thanks Goblin. I tried renaming and removing that entire file but it caused DCS to not start up. I didn't see an audio setting in the file or I would try to simply turn it off. There is something about the Audio in the VR menu that my cranky little S doesn't care for but I'm very thankful that it is working. :)

Think I figured it out. I noticed it kept happening when the cymbals reached their peak or when I would click "Close" which changes songs. I disabled the Rift S audio device and no crashes. It's running great with the sound from my TV. Other games run with sound on the Rift but the DCS sound is causing a crash. I don't understand it but that's par for my course :). Thank you all for the ideas, input and suggestions. I truly appreciate them all.

OK, now it gets wonky. I uninstalled DCS and the Oculus. Completely clean installs of both. Not a single add-on module installed. Logged in and tooled around in the SU25T. Flew like a champ, smooth as butter. Ended the mission, clicked close on the debrief panel and BAM. Same thing. I'm packing her up, as I have been beaten :)

Right now I'm so frustrated I would pay for the ticket :). ::Whiney mode engaged:: Yea everything else plays beautifully, of course I don't want to play everything else, I wanna fly DCS ::Whiney mode disengaged:: Actually I'm probably just gonna take it back and go back to the original. I love the upgrade but at my age I'm not savvy enough to fix it and it's not worth the frustration :).

OK so I moved the entire contents of the directory with the .lua files to my desktop and it launched and flew fantastic for a single mission. As soon as the mission ended and I clicked the "close" button on the debrief page the same series of events occurred. 1) Immediate black screen in the S 2) Flat screen DCS freezes for 15 seconds 3) At the end of the 15 seconds three windows sounds are heard 4) the flat screen unfreezes and DCS resumes, I can move the headset and the menu and such moves accordingly but no video. 5) The S goes back to the Oculus house and I have full video and such on the S but no DCS 6) I get frustrated and swear off DCS forever 7) I ask DCS to forgive me 8) I stare at my S with utter disdain 9) I pick it up wash... rinse... repeat
-
Nodak, yes sir. I did within the settings and then ED tech support asked me to do it manually in the .lua file as well. I did but same issue. Woooe is me :)

I will try that with the lya file when I get home. Thats the weird thing Rusky, it works great with subnautica and elite dangerous. It's just dcs that's giving me fits. So how do I re relate the Lua file?

Okey Dokey, First night Rift S worked like a banshee and it was fantastic. To see what the difference would be (and this may be unrelated) I changed the PD to 2.0 and the Rift dropped video and crashed within 10 seconds. Since then I have been unable to get beyond the main menu with one exception. I have logged in through DCS, Oculus and through Skatezillas thing all with the same result. One of two things happens. Either the moment the Mig in the hangar appears everything locks up and the S video drops out. Approximately 15 seconds later it begins running again on the screen but no video to the S. I can move the headset around and it moves on the screen, I can even click and fly but no video to the headset. Audio is fine and the lights are no but no video. The other thing is I get to the menu where then cymbals are playing but the instant they hit their peak and the music is going to start, BAM, the same thing happens. Last night I logged in and I was actually able to fly one mission but after sucking up a SAM the mission debrief came up and as soon as I hit "Close" BAM same thing happened and I have been unable to get back in. I have tried rebooting, updating drivers, moving video cord to other port, turning off USB power management etc. DCS Tech support asked me to go into the options.lua file and manually reduce PD to less than 1, which I did but still the same issue. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My apologies worm but my S currently won't run DCS. First night ran like a charm, now it will run anything beautifully except DCS. I get the boot as soon as the cymbals start playing. If I can figure it out, I will do the videos for you sir.
-
Hmmmmmmmm. So I just played a little Elite Dangerous, Subnautica and some horrific Oculus thing called Navy Aces. All ran beautifully. Clicked DCS and as soon as the Mig gear appeared. Boop. DCS stopped. I'll try that Skatezilla thing. Set up Skatezilla. Booted DCS and I got to the menu with the climaxing cymbols start playing and then BAM. All black and DCS locked up. After about 15 seconds I could move the headset and it was moving on the screen as if it was working but still not video on the S. It's no biggie. I'll take it back tomorrow and go back to the old trusty Rift :)
-
Oh well. :). DCS is running I can move the headset around and it moves on the screen and everything but there is no video being fed to the headset from DCS. Audio is playing the little DCS song but no video. Runs fine in other aps but DCS nadda. So weird :).
-
OK here's the skinny. The S is working. I rebooted and can toodle around in the house or in other aps. As soon as I start DCS, it loads and then the Mig appears in the hanger for maybe a second and DCS shuts off. No warning, no alarms it just shuts down and the Oculus goes "grey" It's still on, white internal light and you can tell there is power to the screen as it's not black like when you first put it on. It's kinda... grey. but it's also kinda... dead. Takes a reboot to get it to do anything and as soon as I launch DCS, wash, rinse repeat. I changed nothing from last night which is what baffles me.
-
OK Echo if I can get it running again I will jump on it. I came home and booted up DCS, but after about 10 seconds the screen in the S went blank. Couldn't even get back to Oculus home page. Rebooting same thing. Googled and found the Oculus forum below, lots of people having the same issue. I'll keep trying because I'm sure it's something simple that is eluding me https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/75652/issue-with-my-new-rift-s-problem-with-display
