My settings, and please don't laugh at me. I have no clue what many of them do, such as pixel density. If anyone has thoughts on how to optimize I'd gladly love to hear them.

Yeah it's weird. The original Rift runs it maxed out silky smooth. The S has some stutter, you can see it in both videos. I just uploaded another with some other aircraft around to see aircraft visual quality. Quality is a major improvement, everything in the cockpit is clear and legible, both MFDs are crystal clear. The map display (bottom center) is still a little out of focus but that's it. Every switch and knob is clear. Here is the second video. Stand by for my settings.

Here is a quick flight over Caucus with the Rift S. Initial impressions are the visual quality is better than the Rift, very noticeably better however there is more stutter, in particular when I look beyond 45 degrees left or right. You can see it in the video. In fact you can see it better than I could see that radio tower I plowed into :). WKRP is off the air :). If anyone wants to see anything specific please let me know and I'll upload it for you Please note I have not [optimized anything. I hit "High" on the graphics settings and took off.

Home from Best Buy, love store pick-up only .8 miles from home :). The fit feels awkward but so did the Rift at first. Software is downloading now so I'll be airborne in a few minutes. The audio component is my biggest concern, ambient noise around the house as well as being able to use Voice attack. Software is complete, here we go.

Disregard, I pulled the trigger. It was 372.29 after tax with my BB card, with a 30 day return so what the hey :) Now anybody want to buy an Oculus CV 1:)

I want it badly, though I haven't flown in a while due to relocation, but I am seeing that Rift S doesn't allow you to use a separate headset. That's a concern as I like the blotting out the noises around me with my Arctic. VR is so immersive but my concern is how much will the experience be tainted by all the ambient noises in the house around me that I currently don't have. Thoughts?

My hope for a Livery. What's yours? I know it's way to early but just in case you are looking for livery options. I present to you the Swamp Fox :). I'll keep my old fingers crossed for one. Spent years kicking the tires out at McEntire.

Harli, fiddle with your system a bit. Mine is very similar and with everything except heatblur on max/high/ultra I have yet to drop below 45 and most time it hovers in the 70+ range.

Thanks to all for not laughing at an old man's accomplishment :). and for offering the encouragement. Haven't been able to fly for last few days preparing for a move but I can't wait to get set-up in my new house on Thursday and do some more drogue chasing. Great day to all.

I'm sorry but all my old geezer friends think DCS is a waste of time so you guys and gals are all I have to share this with. Y'all do it all the time and I'm sure it's easy as pie to everyone else but with my shaking hands it has been very difficult for me but I finally was able to Air to Air refuel! I was so excited I paused and took a screenshot just as the tanker went into a right hand bank. unpausing and immediately trying to compensate for the bank, my wobbly hands and racing heart.... Well, let's just say it didn't end well for me or the poor tanker crew. BUT there for a moment, I was a real pilot :) Of course then I became the worlds highest fireworks display so I guess that counts for something.

Afternoon everyone, I am not a tech head nor do I play one on TV but I saw there were two new VR sets announced yesterday. I read the specs and, well I felt kinds like a monkey with a dictionary, because it made no sense. Any thoughts from you gentlemen and or gentlewomen who are keeping up with it? I love my Rift because it as truly plug and go but if I can get even better resolution, color me in.....

Good morning everyone, I threw on my Rift this morning and everything in the F-18 is nice and clear with the exception of the MFD's. They are incredibly blurry and impossible to read. I have never had this issue before so I'm a little lost. I did a forum search but didn't find anything. The only 2 things that changed are F-14 module and this mornings update. Hmmmmmmm

Yupper, I love the VA. Use it continually.
