  1. If it's realistic I can live with that. The part that is concerning is that it used to work one way and now it's been changed, without any explanation as to why. This leads to speculation that such a change could be a bug. And with no official word on the issue, it's just frustrating. While some people cannot reproduce the issue. I'll try to make a track using different factors. As I usually adjust the height of the ASP-17, so it might be the height adjustment that messes up the alignment.
  2. I can't remember which update changed this ability. When in air-to-ground mode, a laser guided missile selected and the laser turned on. Using the "; , . /" keys slews the target designator. However after you ground stabilize the desginator, The target designator cannot be slewed anymore. However I remember being able to slew after ground stabilizing, but at a much slower rate than when it's not ground stabilized. Now it appears that any attempt to slew results in either: 1) the target designator is no longer ground stabilized while one of the slew keys is pressed, but goes back to stabilized once the key is no longer pressed 2) minor movement of the target designator, but in a diagonal direction (I can't quite determine the pattern but it moves in other directions, just not in the direction desired) Is anyone having this issue?
  3. Interesting. I originally tried the campaign missions with no external fuel tanks. I thought that was the intention of the mission designer. It's possible to it if you make one pass at the target and turn back without hesitation, but you pretty much run dry by the time you land.
  4. Depends on the type of armour and the situation. Depending on the type of armour you could use S-8OFP rockets. There are S-24s whic are laser guided and will kill any armoured target. You could carpet bomb a convoy (if they aren't going to shoot back) with FAB-100s or 250s.
  5. I love this campaign. I'll be starting this campaign over again as I lost all of my progress at some point. Yes definitely, especially when the the convoy group disperses and the MANPADS pop up. Lastly thanks for sharing with us Bunyap. Loving the format.
  6. Thank you.
  7. I'm rebuilding my machine and would like to keep all of my campaign progress. Do I only need to copy the DCS folder in my Saved Games directory? Thanks
  8. You'll have to elaborate on 'moved to unexpected direction' and also do you have a track? Otherwise, I would say to double check your key mappings and the mappings to your flight stick.
  9. Are you implying that the crew of that tanker defected to the other side? :surrender:
  10. There are in game tutorials on employing weapons and lots of YouTube videos on people performing ground attacks. What specifically are you having difficulty with? Strategy, employment, spotting, etc.
  11. Thanks to the autopilot channels, try flying that bird with all of the channels off. It's fun but scary. One of these days I'm going to start this campaign. I've only heard good things about it.
  12. Good job on the podcast. Looking forward to future episodes.
  13. We could try this out on a smaller scale and add improvements for a larger event.
  14. I haven't tried this out yet, but is is possible to save and edit the mission so that you can start the AI aircraft at a higher altitude?
  15. There is always the kneeboard map :)
  16. Usually available: Wednesdays: 22:00 - 01:00 UTC Weekends (Saturday and Sunday): 10:00 - 16:00 UTC * Note: If I can't make it, I will send the mission file to whoever is hosting that day. There is still a chance I can make it out even if the date chosen it outside of my usual days of availability.
  17. No. You can only equip those on the T variant.
  18. It's suitable for the Mi-8. It's support and rescue mission.
  19. I would be game for something like this. I have a VIP pickup mission that I created a few DCS version back, but haven't tested it with the current release.
  20. You'll have to rely on that voice in your head that tells you 'yes you can kill that vehicle with one more salvo but you should pull up now or end up a flaming wreck.'
  21. But flipping switches makes you feel like a Boss! Getting to your question, I don't believe there is a way to magically change an aircraft to hot when a player clicks on it. If you don't like flipping switches you can just use the auto-start procedure.
  22. Hey Raven, 1. You will have to set the skill level to client instead of player. 2. You will have to set the SP waypoint to 'starting from ramp' or some other option to force the user to perform a cold start or have the aircraft already running. (can't remember which option does what right now). You will also want to name the group name (and unit) appropriately so that when a user joins your game, they will know which slot is a cold start. Regards,
  23. Here is a post that gives you a very high level of the differences between the two modules. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122801
  24. Which vehicles from the non NATO side do you need for Ver 2 and Ver 3?
  25. I agree, to not dumb down the graphics and while improving any inefficiencies. Just curious what rig specs testers were using to have such a smooth running experience.
