  1. I'm wondering what rigs the pre-release testers were using. Their systems were as smooth as hell in their videos.
  2. Loved it. Great music choice. Amazing that you can spot the enemy aircraft like that. You made it look easy.
  3. +1 for this tactic. Attacking artillery with heavy S-8s (can't remember if it was KOM or something else) will do the trick quite easily as long as you are accurate. You will probably want to load external fuel tanks so that you will have full tank to skate around with the SAM. If the SAM has a ammo truck near by, then you'll have about 10 minutes before it will rearm and shoot you down.
  4. Thanks for the update. Appreciate you gents making this server available to the public.
  5. I see what you're saying. A personal force of habit of mine but I would rather user the object/table (not sure how to calls these in Lua) notation than to user the index directly, in the event someone decides to add or remove an index. How are you writing the _G to a table in your mission file? And what is your method for printing dumping all of it out? Thanks again for the insight.
  6. [FSF]Ian, Can you explain the purpose of this batch of code? if copy then unitsTable.groupId = nil unitsTable.name = nil unitsTable.units[1].unitId = nil unitsTable.units[1].name = nil end
  7. How do you know which optionId to use? The way I interpret the documentation for setOption is that in your example your first parameter would be AI.Option.Ground.id.ROE and your second parameter would be AI.Option.Ground.val.ROE.OPEN_FIRE (when looking at con:setOption(0, 0) --fire at will). And the 'Ground units' doesn't have anything for toggling radar for the unit. Unless I'm reading the documentation wrong.
  8. Are you looking for A-10 co-op mission only? I have an MI-8 and Ka-50 co-op mission I never finished beta testing. If you guys are interested let me know and I'll post it.
  9. Check out the mission I have attached. I did this as a test a while back, it's a simple mission where an AI HIP flies to a base, lands. Infantry runs toward the HIP. It takes off and flies to another location. Lands and the Infantry runs toward the bridge to engage some infantry. It's a very small proof of concept mission so it should work with the current version of DCS. test_pickup_landing.mission.miz
  10. This looks really cool. Thanks for sharing this tool.
  11. It's been a while since I played this mission. I did try that once but by the time they are in range of my cannon, they've fired their 9K114 Shturm at me and I have no chance at evading those. Plus there is no warning either. Any tips are welcome though.
  12. I've only heard good things about this campaign from anyone who has passed it. I just haven't been able to get past mission 8 because I can't kill those blasted hinds. It think most people just run and hide and wait till the hinds go to their waypoint, turn around and go away.
  13. I pledged $40. My backer rewards page that I select two aircraft of my choice: But the kickstarter page for DCS WWII states that I get a copy of all aircraft in the game Am I misunderstanding the the differences between what my rewards are for $40?
  14. Yeah, I always had trouble passing this mission because I could never shoot down the hinds. Using Vikhir would miss every time. My wingmen would get shot down and I would get shot down. I also remember my wingmen not engaging these guys at all and just getting shot down. Gotta give this mission another shot.
  15. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2126790&postcount=1 Anyone know what was corrected with this mission?
  16. Great screenshots! Are those skins available on the DCS files page?
  17. You have eyes like a hawk (Bravestarr reference). You might want to start your laser guided missile run a bit earlier and get some altitude Another thing is that after you activate you laser (and have an laser guided missile selected) you can ground stabilize your reticle and slew it over to the target, as opposed to trying to line up the reticle just right before stabilizing. Those hinds have some thick skin!
  18. This video has some useful info about the radar
  19. Right, but having a program cancelled doesn't mean that it only existed as a prototype. "Three Su-25Ts prototypes were built in 1983–86 and 8 production aircraft were built in 1990"
  20. Not according to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_Su-25#Su-25T. Or did you mean it wasn't mass produced as much as the other variants?
  21. The Su-25A can technically perform SEAD operations, just not as well as the Su-25T nor with the same survivability. The Su-25A can take out shilkas (and other types of AAA, radar assisted or not). But when it comes to SAMs the T by far is your weapon of choice; the Su-25A will have a difficult time getting close enough; you won't want to take it out with a laser guided missile because you have to guide the missile to the target and you will get shot at. Your other alternative is to fire of a salvo of unguided rockets, but it's a spray and pray you hit the target and survive on your egress. The Su-25A has a longer operating range because of the differences in weight. That's probably the only thing the A excels at. Also the T also has a better tank busting package and capability.
  22. I don't care for any physical extras. Just the game and planes I can fly. But worse case scenario give me equal credit (with my backer amount) towards a DCS product so I can put it to good use!
